My aunt's stepbrother is Josh. I've heard him talk about the Knot several times and he usually states that he didn't like the producers telling him how to play his instrument. I got a picture with him when my cousin was born. He has been in many bands since and says he wants the ability to make music sound good with a bunch of different sounds (like MFKR was). This is what he has done in other bands of his. He has a platinum record in his bathroom from their self-titled. Apparently, he received no royalties from Slipknot, for which he could've sued, but money appears not to be important to him. And yes, he still lives in Iowa. I saw him about a month ago over last New Year's Eve. He got to go to Paul's funeral (which he mentioned Sid crashed as no Slipknot member was invited) but also doesn't listen to Slipknot ever. He wasn't aware of the trash they dropped a few months ago.

Yeah he was one tragic story. Usually guys can’t afford enough heroin to overdose on until after they become famous! I’m not saying that as a joke or to be insensitive. Usually people that OD on heroin either have no real opioid tolerance and do way too much, or they have a huge tolerance and can’t even afford their habit without stealing, pawning, begging, etc. I’ve known my fair share of heroin addicts in my life, and the only ones that died did so after being clean for months so they no longer had a tolerance, that or they did speedballs but usually in that case it’s the burst of cocaine that makes your heart explode.

Well I'd take Jim, no disrespect to Josh but Jim is a crazy good guitarist. Also Jim and Mick on stage just match they aren't too far off in height, during the early days and more recently since Mick has lost weight they look similar in size. Mick and Jim on stage are the perfect guitar combo for any band and I love how well they play together

This is proven by the fact that Me Inside is on the rough mix version of the self-titled album that leaked a while back. That version of the album was put together the day before they went on Christmas break, and the guitar tracks on the version of Me Inside on the rough mix version is 100% identical to the version that ended up on the S/T re-release. 1,000,000% certain. Maybe I’m cynical but most of these replacement scenarios, especially right when a band joins a bigger label, are the label asking members of the band to leave so they can be replaced by studio guys or at least more dependable musicians. Sometimes members leave of their own accord, but usually because the label has completely changed the bands sound. It’s a business.

He was in the band The Killers and was lead guitar, he also played keyboard/piano and he sang a little bit but he decided to leave the group and even though they begged him not to and that they were going to sign a big deal within the year but he didn't like the direction that the band was going in and he ended up leaving them and just a few months later they signed a huge deal and were well on their way to becoming pretty wealthy and playing in large venues all over the world. It haunted him for a while too, he's also friends with the group Oasis and is good friends with Gallagher and has played with him many times over the years but also he went on tour with them and played in the group that was their opening act on like a 9 month tour around Australia, Asia and some Europe shows.

You can do Sabaton. 2 thirds of the band left during the recording of the 2012 album “Carolus Rex”, which meant only Pär(bass) and Joakim(vocals) were left. But after the producer helped finish the album and when they released it, “Carolus Rex” became Sabaton’s biggest album. It is still the most bought album in Sweden and went quadruple platinum. Sabaton got new members and ever since then, every album that was recorded and released has reached #1 in many countries. The reason why most of the band left was because they only wanted to do a certain of shows a year, but the founding members Pär and Joakim already had plans for many shows.
