Miyako sitting at piano with guitar on her lap about 4-5 months pregnant. Midori on the acoustic leaves me speechless. Asami gets to show off her ballet skills. The the small upside down cymbal you didn't identify is Haruna's Ice Bell. She can use it to great effect. At the end of this song with the keyboards playing from backing track Haruna reminds me of the late great John Panozzo. Midori's guitar solo is 1970's classic rock guitar hero level. A lot of band doing ballads seem to do the same country/southern rock riff so they all sound alike. Lovebites knows how to do a ballad. There isn't a ballad of theirs that I don't love. Edge of the World, Empty Daydream and Epilogue are all exceptional ballads. Frozen Serenade is special. Asami's lyrics are very poetic. A frozen melody Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy A distant memory If only this snow could erase the pain I'd wake up in a serenade That's Joan Baez level lyrics.

This is why I rate Lovebites as the best band ever. They can do anything male or mixed bands can do, only better, but they can do this. This isn’t just a song, or a performance, it’s a production. And it’s a production that’s beautiful both to listen to and to watch. No male band could replicate what you just watched. Great reaction, but please, a little more love for vocalist Asami. She wrote and composed this along with band collaborator Mao Yamamoto. Did you not see her short balletic interlude? Not having a go at you, it’s just that as self proclaimed world’s greatest Asami fan I’m always in her corner! 🙂

Because Electric Pentagram came out in winter, Asami wanted a sad winter ballad, the acoustic electric guitar was played and recorded by Miyako, but Live Midori has to play it because Miyako is busy on the piano! 🤘

Another Banger reaction. As O'bud said, Miyako is playing an Infinite guitar. They are specifically designed for 'infinite' sustain. A little sad you didn't seem to notice Asami's bit of ballet theater on that catwalk, and how Perfectly she matched her last movement with the end of that bridge. Asami took ballet for 16 years, and then went to the US to study modern dance and hip hop. But when she went back to Japan she discovered that @ 4'10" she was considered 'too short' for a ballerina. So she started singing R&B, and was actually with a group that played the Budokan. Then she auditioned for Lovebites, discovered she had a Talent for 'belting', and the rest is Metal History.

How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? I would name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “The Great Gig in the Sky” by Pink Floyd; “Starless” by King Crimson; “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish… maybe a few more. Few rock groups have ever produced a masterpiece, and some of the greatest never managed it. Lovebites have given us several, and I would put this performance at the top of the list. Thank you for checking this out.

Another aspect that I love is Haruna's machine gun precision drumming in the final section. Next suggestion, Today is the Day, from the same 2021 concert. Miyako's blue strat is made by a company called "Infinite" and is called the "Trad Fullsize ST" (custom) with a set of Bareknuckle Apache single coils. I'm pretty sure she picked this guitar for this song since it's one of very few she owns that would be comfortable when sat at a piano, notwithstanding the outstanding tone it has for this track. I'm fairly sure this is the only song she uses this guitar. So much to absorb with this track, but you completely missed Asami through the middle section - her ballet background is totally on display. Liked the analysis here. I don't think you have done their latest video - "The Hammer Of Wrath" from 2023 with Fami's debut live performance! kzread.info/dash/bejne/onymubSNYK3LkcY.html

"live in tokyo" was held on march 26, 2021. originally scheduled for 2020, the date has been changed twice following the japanese government's declaration of a state of emergency over covid-19. in addition, based on the government's guidelines for preventing the spread of covid-19 infections, the number of spectators was set to less than half of the venue's capacity, and all the spectators could do was applaud. tickets were sold out, but not full. the topic of forming a super band in 2016 spilled out. after that, the band name was initially "metalslaves" and later "lovebites" derived from the representative song of hailstorm. a band name didn't seem like a good choice. and above all, it is impossible to sing in english. there may be some japanese people who can pronounce native english, but native pronunciation is basically impossible, and above all, japanese people cannot understand at all. it was speculated that "wolves in white dresses"might not have been a good choice either. the long-awaited 1st album ranked 29th on japanese general chart, and 2nd album19th. If it had been sung in japanese, it is presumed that it would have been about 10th higher. their 3rd album was 9 and 4th album was 5, but judging from their talent, it would have been higher. however, B-Rs and DVDs have sold well over the long term. if possible, it might be time for victor entertainment to consider releasing two versions, one in japanese and one in english.

One correction. Initial name of band was Iron Maiden influenced "Powerslaves" After Maiden's title track on their 5th album. Miho was heavily influenced by One Stephen Percy Harris. Maiden had influence on the rest of the member of Lovebites to a degree. When Fami auditioned she had never done galloping triplets on bass they Steve Harris and Miho both do. She learned how to do it and there you go. She's our new bass player.

The fact that they are women is very important because metal bands are forced into the conventions that have become male metal bands.
