Nice one guys! Yeah it can be really hard to pick out exactly what is making up their combined riffs... That and the trading vocals are a key component of the GS current line up sound in my opinion (thanks for reading my comment from the BakuBaku vid too 😊😊) I would recommend you check out next their live performance of "I wish I" live at 豊洲PIT - (I'll add link in the reply just in case) for something a little more different than the first two tracks you've heard (also has English subs embedded)

p.s. For newcomers the band lineup can be extremely confusing, but to note that the Blue-haired screaming drummer (Hana) from Doll$boxx, is here the Mustang style guitarist with the high vocal slides :)

For live check out "Tamashii". For another music video try "I wish I". Its a bit different from the ones you've heard so far.

Great reaction again :) A couple of things: Doll$Boxx is pronounced DollsBoxx (the dollar sign is a stylized S). The non-harmonic-sounding textures are all guitar - the keys pretty much are playing standard stuff around the chord structure. There are indeed some "colliding" notes, that don't harmonically match if you "overlap" both guitar tracks. The first guitar plays a pretty standard VI-I-IV-II VI-I-V-IV progression (with a VI-I-IV-ii on the second run thru). The second guitar (the texture guitar) plays it's own melody or little riff, that is totally melodic, if you isolate it. So if you follow each one of them, they sound absolutely "normal", but together they create a pretty busy soundscape ... GS almost never have their 2 guitars play the same thing (like some traditional rock/metal/punk-bands often do). My take on this is, that it gives you plenty of stuff to explore on subsequent listens :D The bass effect in the beginning of the first verse is most likely a distortion/overdrive with a plate reverb on top. Koga (the bass player, stage name F Chopper Koga, or short FCK) has her own signature model from Vellmor (currently VELLMOR VJB-230 FCK). It indeed has an alder body and a maple neck. For suggestions, which song to listen to next, I leave that up to my fellow fans, that will undoubtely provide the goods :) Cheers :)

I'm not a musician but Tomo-zo seems to like adding dissonant notes to her intervals when playing chords, more like a jazz guitarist. This is one of the reasons why she has become one of my favorite guitarists. She always seems to put a lot of thought on how to weave her guitar part into the song. I have always wondered who Tomo-zo was influenced by. Of course all of these women are very accomplished musicians and I really like the fact that they are willing to really experiment with music so they aren't following a trend but blazing their own path.

If you want to know how this audio "wackiness" may come about, just watch Hana´s cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit", which is on their channel. She did it during Covid lockdowns, I believe. She used what she found at her home. There is a short and long version.

Great reaction as always guys. I saw them on the 18th of November. A killer 2.5+ hour show. They made an announcement at the end of the show that Doll$Box would be touring with Gacharic Spin in December 2024. I'm already saving up.

Great review of an amazing band that is not following a trend but blazing their own path. Somehow they are able to put a variety of genres into their music writing blender and what comes out is pure Gacharic Spin. They are bass driven with a dense sound, almost chaotic at times, but it does flow. The transition to the dreamy jazz piano solo was pure brilliance. I would recommend this for a live song which is a bit "harder" but don't be fooled by the intro...Gacharic Spin - I wish I (Official Live Video) in 豊洲PIT (Lyrics in English)

Thanks for coming back to Gacharic Spin. You said you wanted to hear them live? Good live options are I Wish I, The Come Up Chapter or Tamashii. The last one is not on their official channel, but despite that it has 250K views (kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKhrj6mAgsSZnsY.html). All three of these songs are a bit less bass-driven than the two you've heard.

Nice reaction guys. You should definitely do a live one next. “I Wish I” live, “A La La” live or “Sekira Liar” live. These are recent live songs they have done on their KZread channel, so it’s with the current lineup. “Sekira Liar” is the only older song of these three. “Baku Baku” is a great song, with a lot of energy. But until you haven’t experienced a live song by Gacharic Spin, you aren’t prepared for what’s coming.

Gacharic Spin are their own genre. There's really no point in trying to fit them into a category.

Best live for next react should be reverse psych… Of course we’re all waiting for a nanmaita vid… apparently it’s already in the works…

Great Reaction again, Gentlemen! You asked for live versions to react to - a few have already said "I Wish I", which is a good choice. However, there are two live versions - I think the more recent one is superior (English subtitles, great cameras on all 6 members, including a great montage with all 6 while they're performing 5-part vocals - I can't tell if Yuri is actually singing as well - in which case it would be 6-part vocals). The link is here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oJx61cduiqXSfNI.html - although you can't go wrong with any of the versions (both studio and the 2 live ones).
