That's not true though, plenty of groups and soloists made their own music, you're just not familiar enough with the history. YG (the company Bigbang is from) himself was part of Seo Taiji and the Boys, Seo Taiji being the one who made all the music they put out. Singer-songwriter PSY was part of YG, pretty sure a lot of people have heard of him. There's plenty of others from 1st gen on. Bigbang is great, and G Dragon deserves a lot of respect, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

the reason kpop is what it is today is because of these 5 individuals. bigbang was the very 1st kpop group to write and produce their own music, the very 1st kpop group with a rap line (gd&top), the very 1st group to make hairstyles a statement in kpop and gd created the very 1st kpop lightstick, it was his idea. you gotta check more of their stuff. and also check gd’s music, he’s known as the most versatile artist in kpop, a real chameleon 😊

The thing that made bigbang really unique in the industry back then was their very vulnerable and personal songwriting and presence in their videos, which was not very common back then. It's largely in part to GDragons songwriting. They were the first band to speak candidly about mental health, alcohol and even sex, somewhat. Which was a big deal back then, haha, since South Korea is a very traditional country. Bigbang have amazing lyrics. It's kind of funny this is the first song you watched though, I'd not recommend this as a first song from them. Maybe fantastic baby, or even monster. They have a lot of bops in their catalogue, but also a lot of emotional songs. For a more whimsical take, I'd say "high high", which is a solo project collaboration between TOP and GDragon, the two rappers of the group, or even their later song Zutter. Also any solo song by Gdragon, honestly, is worthy of a listen.

One VIP explanation. I like it. In G-Dragon's part (he's the one who is shown first in the music video), he feels alone and depressed. Although he has money and fame, he becomes lonely as he does not have anyone by his side. His part also goes, "I was always alone. It's been a long time. since I've forgotten about love." Taeyang (the one on the roof in the red jacket) was confused and had doubts about his faith. The cross he drew said, "Sin Will Find You." His part goes, "I hold out my hand, but no one holds it." Just like in GD's case, he was alone and did not know where he should go to ask for help. At the end, he loses his battles against himself and commits suicide, where you see him falling off the building. T.O.P., on the other hand, was shown to be a womanizer. 'Love them for one night, and hate them then when the morning comes." The two girls were also wearing white, signifying that T.O.P. also views them as objects. They started to touch him and his things. got mad and killed them, which is why you see him covered in blood while he is walking. through the alley. He breaks down as he starts to realize what he has done and what he has lost. Daesung (the one getting beat up) was being bullied, which makes him feel like, "At some point, I've gotten scared of people's eyes." He becomes afraid of what people will do to him. While looking in the mirror, he decides to fight back, although he knows that he is not going to win. At the end, the five members all gave in to their personal struggles, thus becoming "losers" in their own ways.

Big Bang is the first group in the Korean industry to make and produce their own music successfully, it has great influence basically BTS became artists because of them some of its members have used samples of their music and have a lot of influence on their concepts, just like attez who have also mentioned bigbang as one of their main influences, Big Bang have been on hiatus for many years that is why many people ignore how huge they are however without bigbang there would not be a BTS a black Pink especially BP since they They made the company of these girls a great company, without bigbang there would not be many groups in the industry, thanks to Big Bang there are also rappers and kpop groups, much of the current visual concept of kpop is because of bigbang. Big Bang fans don't like 2019 mentioned. Please look into the Burning Sun scandal to understand why. It was a huge problem for K-Pop (and Korean law enforcement and K entertainment in general really) with a member of Big Bang at the very heart of it. BBC World Service recently covered it again, which is a good thing because it's not something people should be allowed to forget and sweep back under the rug. Careers of everyone involved should be well and truly over.

Too bad you missed out on the lyrics to a really well written song. In some ways it has a similar feeling to Radiohead's Creep. And too bad you randomly picked a comment from a loser who says (s)he can only listen to Big Bang in 2024 as I think some fans don't know the difference between being a devoted fan and being a narrow minded one.

This band has a very bad history because of the drůg and s*x trafficking conviction of one of their members named Seungri. SOUTH KOREAN laws are very lax for male offenders, and he is now out of prison. This is NOT the band to be reacting to. However, T.O.P, Taeyang and G Dragon are not bad people, per se.
