I want a sadboi soft rock album from Han SO BADLY. His singing is criminally underutilized n skz. What Han was singing about in this song is how I feel about Han.

Fun fact, Seungmin heard this song before it was released and apparently begged Han to have it instead because he wanted to sing it so much, but Han said no because the song was so special to him - which is why they sing it together on the 2 Kids Show!

This song is actually about a very strong and beautiful unconditional love. This song means a LOT to Han (he said as much on a live) and it was never meant to be interpreted as toxic or sad. The person he is talking to is scared about hurting Han and Han is trying to convey that no matter what you could ever do i will love and support you even when things are hard. At least that's my take on it❤

the fact that Seungmin really want to sing this song so bad because the song was amazing and finally when two kids show release there is an ep. of Han and Seungmin singing Volcano together hahaha

I cried the first time I heard this song, and that first drop will sometimes catch me off guard and make me tear up. Truly it's so moving and powerful. I can't wait for you two to listen to his other song "Miserable (You & Me). It comes before "13"!

Han is an incredible artist, he deserves to be recognized more in the musical world, he has a beautiful vocal. This song is so special to me. I love!❤

I'm hoping immature people won't hijack MY comment. If you want to write your own then do so. Han is very passionate and has expressed his love and admiration for stay and the bond we have with him. An example would be during their Maniac Tour last year in the USA. During the ending ments he conveyed it beautifully by saying this: "you guys always say "your music saved my life," but your existence saved my life. Please remember this guys, you guys are my ego, you guys are my pride, you guys are my dream, not once, always, always will be. Thank you for being a stay, I love you." He always tells us he loves us because love is the most beautiful emotion. For me, it's easy to see that same passion in Volcano. It's not toxic at all, and he tried to explain that in his live. I highly recommend watching it, and you'll see for yourself how it applies to stay. When you look past the surface of a song, you can learn a lot about it. It's not a love song about a romantic relationship. A lot of people don't understand Han and so they make their own assumptions. Han has written songs from anime, and some have tried to say he's not being honest, but that's not Han's character. People that aren't as passionate have a hard time understanding his songs at a deeper level, but that's one of the things I love and respect about him. Volcano is one of my most played songs. It’s just pure perfection. He’s able to put into words what unconditional love feels like. It honestly moves me to my core.

He said he wrote it thinking of fans, and nobody seems to believe him. I'm sure he has a lot of varied life experiences he puts in his music, but to me, it does seem to be about the experience of being famous. The way fans act when they see an idol is volcanic for sure lol, and it can hurt, burn, etc, but he's saying I'll take it, and there's a line about "light it up for me, brighter, more please," which makes me think of concerts. "I lack so much," imposter syndrome, he doesn't feel worthy of the adoration he gets from fans. That level of being adored by fans can also hurt, though, people say awful things, make up stupid relationship rumors based on every little blink, dig up your past, etc. In the end, though, he's saying he doesn't care, and he'll accept it, embrace it, even if it hurts, and that given the choice to be an idol again, he would still choose it even though it can hurt. It's also worth noting that the parasocial relationship a fan has with an idol goes both ways, though it's different on the idol side. They aren't looking at a singular person they admire, but when you're getting a constant volcano of that admiration, it's human nature to respond to that, to personify it, to love or hate it. Stray Kids especially do a lot of lives and very personal music and content, so that amplifies both the connection they feel to their fans and the pain that comes from feeling they've disappointed their fans in some way. Much like Red Lights, it's only romantic on the surface. I'm sure all the members have experienced romantic relationships, but honestly, it's not only romantic love that creates these intense emotions. I also think it's incredibly demeaning to tell a creator that what they say about their own work isn't true. Chan and Lee Know with Drive are obviously aware of all the double meanings and are very jokey about it, and it isn't a serious song. Han had intense feelings to express, and that doesn't mean it has to be about something romantic. These are driven, talented, ambitious men who have a lot of things they are passionate about other than relationships. I love Han, I worry about him, he seems like a very sensitive person and I hope he handles his idol life in an emotionally healthy way and doesn't take all the BS that comes with it to heart.

@@lungilembuli3219 if that's true he said he wrote it about someone specific, I can't find any evidence of it, but I'd love to see it if so! As I said I'm sure it means more than one thing and he was thinking of a lot of things when he wrote it. As a writer myself though lol if I say what I wrote is about something, I want to be believed, and if other people find something else in what I wrote, that's THEM, not me. He also tends to write songs in a storytelling sense if you watch any songwriting sessions they've put out there. What bothers me are people who try and make it about Lee Know. Yes, they're close, and they're super cute together lol, but unless they someday say "hey we're an item" or "hey this was somehow my super secret coming out song" then I think it's delusional to make it fit the weird fanfic narrative forced on to these very real people who have lives outside of the band and band members that we know nothing about. Bottom line, Han is an incredible lyricist, and when people talk about their own work, whether they're leaving out more private emotions that played into it or not, they should be believed, unless like Chan and Drive, they are very giggly about it LOL.

He said on Bubble not long after the song was released that he needed a certain person to hear this song and that we should know who that person was. He also said Seungmin even offered to pay him to record the song and Han said he told him "Not this one". It wasn't until his Valentines Day live where people kept asking him over and over again who he wrote the song for and he got awkward and then said it was for Stay. Regardless of that I just don't see how the song can be about fame and about STAY at the same time. That's like saying Red Lights and Venom are about STAY. ... Yes songs are open to interpretation but it's the lyrics combined with the stuff he said before that Valentines Day live why a lot of people believe they know who he wrote the song for.... In the end he's a Pro Idol and he would never be able to openly say anything other than that he wrote that song for Stay, maybe for a family member or pet, but not about a real relationship. There's not going to be some coming out announcement if there is any relationship. People see things differently but no one is calling people who think the song is about STAY delusional. It rude and that word is thrown around a lot without people knowing the real meaning of the word.

this song is completely queer lol but i understand why people (esp non queer ppl) dont see it and instead think of another meaning. this is the most honest comment i saw abt this song from @ReapingWillow so im just gonna paste it here: All I can say is that the terminology used is far too romantic and singular to be about fans. As someone who has been madly in love, I promise, this is not how you feel about someone platonic. I'm a drought, you are rain, I'm paper, you're a poem.... Your arms, my home, my breath, my god.... Even if I die, even if I'm reborn over and over, it's only you... You are a SIN... Everybody runs from you... no. This is about one person, definitely not fans, he may have come up with that last minute which.. he did. Lol But there's no way Han would tell fans their are his one and only in such a romantic way. That's how you create truly delusional fans who won't allow you to marry or have a life that isn't in that parasocial one. He's far too smart to actually do that. However I can completely see him doing it because he felt far too vulnerable from having released the song. It obviously meant a lot to him. He never claimed he wrote it based on how a show made him feel or anything like that, he said it's completely his own emotions... He was so shy after the release that he didn't get online for a full 24 hours after, and once he did, it was to have a live... On Valentine's Day because that's when he happened to release it. And spent forever telling fans it was about them while they called him on his BS, he panicked more openly, and then left. I felt truly bad for him. Fans shouldn't have pushed it, but he also shouldn't have backed out. I get it, I do. And he's my ult bias for a reason. I understand the part of his mind because it lives in me too. I just wish he was stronger than it in those rare times when he isn't. Because the really unapologetic him is a beautiful thing.... more importantly however, I feel it's very important to point out that Han himself NEVER had any intention of this being seen as a toxic relationship. quite the contrary in fact. I feel people are forcing far too heavily on the couple lines in the chorus that are saying.... hurt me, burn me, I don't care I love you. And unfortunately they are disregarding the entirety of the other 80%. He loves this person and they love him, it's why they don't want to show him their scars and their painful past, because they don't want him to be hurt by proxy. They also know that when they deal with pain, apparently they tend to have to breakdown in order to build themselves back up. They are very driven emotionally. But people don't seem to see that and they just run from them, never stopping to wonder if perhaps this standoffish persona that this person holds up in front of themselves like a shield is perhaps the opposite of how they really are, and they feel that they are simply protecting those that they love from what they have hidden within. Han is telling them that it's ok, I don't care if I do ACCIDENTALLY get hurt in the process of being there for you, because I know you would never do it on purpose. Your love is all encompassing, you make me smile, and laugh, and you make me so happy that you are literally sunlight, and rain, and poetry, you are my home and I will never stop loving you. You are the ONLY ONE for me. Yes, you are a bit of a warzone inside, but so was I. I have all of that in me too and YOU helped me get through it. I just want to be there for you too.... You see, a love that is willing to do anything for someone is not in any way toxic. It's a truly beautiful, unbelievably breathtaking level of emotional and physical (romantic) love could ever take the form of. Truly the rarest and definitely within the highest level of personal bonds that a person will ever have with another. Most of us will never feel it. Ever.... That having been said, again, it's not at all toxic. I say it's important to always remember that... 1. Every word of a song is important when Han is the mind behind it. 2. Just because Han likes to give multiple meanings to his diss tracks and loves to play with words in order to fit more of his humor and/or brilliant genius into the track. However, in no way does that mean that every song like this has to have both an obvious metaphor and a hidden meaning on top of that. It would inevitably cause the song to lose all of its lyrical meaning and the beauty it's intended to convey. 3... Sometimes, what you are seeing and hearing is all that there was meant to be. If you are trying to tell an important story, or convey meaningful lyrics, but you cannot do that by trying to hide them in layers or pretend that it's something entirely different. It's not always necessary to go searching, sometimes it is right there on the surface, waiting to be seen for what it is.

This song is truly the most beautiful song to ever be created from its lyricism to the music itself. You can tell how personal this song is to Han without even hearing a meaning. It’s all right there. I definitely agree as a queer person these lyrics literally scream queerness and I think that’s why I identify so much with it. From the moment I first heard this song, it’s been my favorite

Seungmin was begging Han for this song lol. Han refused. He said this is the only song he HAS to do himself. Unlike many of his songs, where he took inspiration from tv series or other media, this is his *personal feelings* . He made this song as a love letter to STAY. Normally Han goes live right away to talk about his new published song or he writes about it on Bubble. When Volcano dropped, Han said he refuses to talk about it and wants us to first carefully listen to the song only. He came live much later to explain in more depth and confessed he made this based on his feelings and burning appreciation for STAY.
