Super Bowl was actually the original Gods Menu. You may notice some similarities in the lyrics (cooking concept). It was originally written in Korean by 3racha, then translated into English (co-written by Felix) and included in the 5-star album. Then translated it into Japanese for their EP album. I almost always prefer the version I hear first (unless they are presented to me around the same time). For example, I far prefer the Japanese version of The Sound than the Korean version. My brain had too many months to soak in the English version that it tries to correct the Japanese version into the English version. But you are right, they translate their songs with so much skill. They've said that they write every song in Korean first. They are just really talented

Just knowing there is a Korean version on chans laptop makes my head spin 😂 I like both of them but since I understand English the whisper parts in the English version just hits that little bit more😅 Are you going to react to butterflies too? I love both versions. Hehehe. Japanese is a language I am trying to study. I love how they sound in Japanese coz, unlike the other groups that I've listen in Japanese, Skz's seems natural to the ears.

Seungmin is really just something he is good at absolutely everything.

Stray Kids have several all English songs. Levanter, Slump, Double Knot, Domino. I think Top too but not 💯 sure. I like both for Super Bowl cuz they both sound good and flow great

Yes, they have an English version for Top as well. Plus, there's Bang Chang's and Felix's songs on the SKZ-Replay album that are in English.

Love ALL your Stray Kids reactions! Regarding translation, I think Bang Chan is fluent in Japanese. There’s an interview with the Japanese girl group that he produced a song for… they said that Chan spoke to them completely in Japanese, and even used their dialect. (Can that man possibly be anymore impressive?) ❤

All 8 members have learned Japanese and are relatively fluent. But even Bang Chan says that, among them, Lee Know is the *most* fluent, and he often becomes their spokesperson when Japanese is the main language being used (in interviews, for example). (As an aside, I've read that all of the SKZ members are learning Chinese, too. Not sure how accurate that is, though.)

Once again, I really appreciate the language pov of your analysis mixed with the production knowledge. I've been studying Japanese for a year and a half (my first language is Spanish, btw, hola desde Argentina) and I have much fun trying to read along with the lyrics of Stray Kids' Japanese songs when they play on my Spotify's list. So far, I mostly just understand Lee Know saying 新しい (あたらしい, "atarashi"). Joking/not joking, I can sort of follow the lyrics reading the hiragana and katakana so... progress is there. I can only imagine transpolating that into singing in a language that's not the one you speak (even if some of them are fluent in Japanese, it's still not their everyday language). That's obviously part of their training but it's just one more thing that shows hard work. On a side note, I laughed with your reaction to the quirky parts of the video with Felix (and Hyunjin too!), I second the praise for Han's singing abilities (not that it's news to anyone who knows his music, but it's always good to praise him) and I'll be looking forward to your reaction to "Topline"

The boys rapping in Japanese hits DIFFERENT (of course in a good way!). I love how SKZ makes their songs work from Korean to English/Japanese, and even back and forth - it always surprises me how the same feeling and sentiment are given! I hope you get to review some of their other reworked songs in English. I also laughed in surprise like you at Felix's "heartthrob" edit in the MV, caught me off guard with how hunky and dreamy that editing was! Thanks for the reaction and can't wait for Topline!

They DO HAVE ‘Super Bowl’ in Korean version! But i don’t think they will ever release that..ㅠㅠ coz at one point, they thought of releasing Super Bowl (the Korean version) instead of God’s Menu if I’m not mistaken.. basically Super Bowl and God’s Menu are brothers!
