As a non korean speaker I must say that I cried the first time I listened to it even without understanding a single word, now that I know what he is talking about I just get even more emotional everytime, such an incredible song with a really deep and necessary meaning

I love this song from the first time i heard it. Although i didnt know the lirics y felt very sad and i Almonte cry. Changbin became my bias with this song and i have it like ringtone of my Phone. Then i read the liryc and understand all the feeling that he trasmit. Thanks for your coments. I love my boys🤟🥰😍🇪🇦

The Blue Tree Project is an Australian initiative to raise awareness and help people who suffer from depression and mental issues. As an Aussie, I really appreciate that SKZ included this in the MV. Streetlight is one of my favourite SKZ songs, simply because, despite the subject matter, it is such a beautiful song. Changbin and Chan did a great job together.

Did you notice in the Stray Kids "Ex" m/v (which that video is also about mental health) that Changbin paints blue paint with his hands on the glass? I think that was also a nod to the Blue Tree Project as well if I'm not mistaken!

This is my FAVORITE Changbin song. I just love it so much, even though it is sad. I feel like he really wrote and performed something deeply personal here, because he is the pillar of the group. He supports everyone else, including Bang Chan. And that has to sometimes feel lonely, especially for someone as empathetic as our teddy bear Binnie. I just want to hug him.

Yeah I feel like Changbin had Chan on this bc they are a lot alike in trying to be there for everyone else but not wanting to "burden" others with their problems, which can be very lonely to deal with on your own. I think it's why their bond is so strong and why they "feel" the other one so much. They both can cry with the other super easily. I'm so glad they have each other!

Changbin wrote this for mental health awareness in South Korea. This is my favorite song by Changbin. Interesting fact: when Chan listened to this during Channie's room, he cried because he was touched so deeply.

The way that chris helped produce this with changbin but then kind of stepped back to be backing vocals! (what a leader my gosh) The blue tree is a homage to a foundation in korea called blue tree that aims to educate youth on mental health awareness and also anti-bullying. Blue represents depression and meloncholly, but it also represents imagination, inspiration and confidence, I can't help but feel that this plays a huge role in this MV. I'm not on Patreon right now so this was such a pleasant surprise!! This has to be the hardest song that makes me cry this much thank you thank you guys!! ♡

Unfortunately SKZ-PLAYER (solo project with a video) and SKZ-RECORD (solo project without a video) didn’t have English subtitles… until they became super popular internationally. (since 2021 around Kingdom era, they have started to include English subtitles.

There's a project in Australia called: The Blue Tree Project. I am certain this is where the Blue Paint came from. This project highlights the silent killer in mental health - loneliness. Take care all, and talk to someone.

I just was made aware in the comments here that's there is also a Blue Tree *Foundation* that is based in Korea as well that addresses similar mental health issues. So maybe it's homage to both!

I was lucky enough to witness him sang it solo at the concert in Jakarta and I was ugly sobbing like.. bawling, tears streaming, the whole nine yards. I don't even speak korean (to be fair I knew what the lyrics was about as a whole) but the way he conveys his emotions can really touch your heart. I'm sure others already told you what the blue paint means and to think THE Changbin got to experience all of that can really break your heart.

I feel deep connection with this song to be honest, it means so much to me. And i'm glad that Changbin spoke about that theme in his song, you don't see much of it in songs. Strong people need help and love too :(( Your reaction was awesome as always! I love how you mentioned everything

I’ve watched this video several times with English subtitles and the lyrics seem very personal to Changbin and how he’s described his reliable big brother role in the group. All of 3Racha are musical geniuses.

This song always makes me so melancholy...it's one of my favorite moody songs. That's for the reaction!

Streetlight is what got me into SKZ, the absolute sincerity not only in his lyrics but also in his voice just absolutely drove me in. He’s such a talented artist and very well-rounded and I hope for a future in which his talents get the hype he deserves (tho it might just never be enough considering how good he is)

Changbin is the only member in his year, and is the middle in age in the group. The boys have mentioned that Bang Chan depends on him a lot and as a producer he feels great responsibility. On top of that, he feels very responsible for the five younger members. It came be a lonely place to be.

Love your reactions to the depth of the lyrics and Hangul dual meanings. BangChan has stated that Changbin understood him ( the loneliness and need to be strong for others - referring to his years alone as a trainee ) from the beginning. They both have had those deep painful struggles.

This is one of my favorite songs, it's one of the songs that made me a Stay. It's beautiful, haunting, melancholic, and deeply emotional.

SKZ have some really amazing solo songs…truly amazing but Streetlight is my favorite solo song. Throughout my SKZ journey, watching all their content, aside from being a goofball we all love, Changbin to me was a rock in the group, someone all the members went to for advice, even Chan counts on him the most, so hearing this song and the lyrics for the first time made me cry, made me appreciate him even more. I don’t have a bias in SKZ because i just can’t choose between these 8 amazingly talented people. It’s impossible for me.

Also. I always interpreted it that like a streetlight in the night, he is always there for everyone else, but no one is there for him. He is always supporting everyone else, but no one is there when he needs someone. And because he is so closed off from everyone around, he appears as though he is doing fine but in reality, that is far from the truth. And that’s just how it is sometimes, sometimes you don’t have anyone to turn to and that hurts. “It hurts to be alone.” 💙

I always get teary eyed listening to this song. I think of Streetlight, Silent Cry and Secret Secret as their own trio of songs. Changbin has also said at a concert he will be a streetlight in the dark for STAY.

This is one of my favourites. It feels like a song that was meant to exist, I don't know how to explain it. Thanks for pointing out that part of the lyrics about the rooftop, I've read translations but didn't know that idiomatic point.

Bang Chan listened to streetlights in Channie’s room. It has the English translations!

Streetlight is one of my top skz songs, Changbin's emotional message just makes you feel seen. No matter what's going on around him, he's still there, shining like a streetlight.

From the comments, I just realised that The BlueTree Foundation in Korea which seems to have started in 2010 and the The Blue Tree Project which started in regional Australia in 2018 both address similar themes. Being Australian, I knew of the latter (and Bang Chan being in the song) biased my thoughts to The Blue Tree Project. Written by Changbin, the tree scenes are probably referencing The Blue Tree Foundation in South Korea. This might also be why the captions are only in Korean. Regardless, both boys have been through their mental health battles and recognising both projects (now that The Blue Tree Project is registering global “blue trees”) is valuable.

Han-C is us when listening to Changbin’s signature songs: body and head uncontrollably shake to the rhythm 💃 but face and heart is shaken hard by the meaning 😢

I love SKZ so much, there are so many good songs, ans I would like to recomend an artist for you, he's called DPR IAN he is australian/korean and I'm sure you'll be surprised with his music and cinematography, please, if you could check out his music I'll be so happy and you can have sure that you won't be disaponited!

I don't feel it's "sooo" much. It's only on the chorus from what I can tell (and even not all of them) and to me it's minimally used and gives it a more haunting sound which, based on the meaning of the song just adds to the emotion for me. SKZ only ever minimally uses autotune for effect not for "trying to sound better" like others might do. There's a BIG difference in that.

Look, this is just the motivation I need to learn Korean, so that I don't need subtitles. 🥲
