"You can have all of this in one thing?" That's prog rock right there. Thanks for the perfect definition, Neal.
Hands down, my favorite podcast right now. Neal is great at these chats.....this was a great one with Mr. Jordan Rudess....Talk about 2 guys with soothing voices on a podcast, not to mention their immense talent... I really hope they do some sort of project in the near future...
Thanks for posting this! Jordan seems like such a humble, down-to-earth guy, in spite of his obvious tremendous talent. He deserves all of the success he's had with Dream Theater, LTE, and beyond.
As a music/voice therapist I totally relate to every single word they said about being a channel to manifest a "higher energy" into this world. Music and creativity in general have a huge healing power at many different levels. It's heartwarming to hear that such amazing musicians as Jordan and Neal share these feelings and thoughts too.
These are so much better than what many would consider a "proper" interview. The relaxed feel, the digressions, the candor and honest responses all make for such interesting and inspiring conversations. I really hope this series continues indefinitely. The sheer number of candidates available over the past 40+ years should make for some really great moments. Thank you Neal and all the wonderful interviewees! (Rick Wakeman's "Face to Face" videos are really fantastic too.)
Excellent Neal! two of my favorite musicians of all time! Regards from Rosario, Argentina!
Two keyboard wizards!!!
Wonderful conversation! And I absolutely agree with Jordan about Patrick Moraz's solo on "Someday". Spine tingling stuff.
LTE is in my top 5 favorite bands of all time, along with anything Neal Morse does. So glad they covered Rhapsody in Blue. It is an amazing version and so well done it would make Gershwin proud.
Another great talk😍👍🏻! Thx Neal for setting this format up and thx to the two of you for this really exciting and interesting conversation. Be blessed🙏!
I really hope that next generations could see this interview and understand the basis in every aspect. First time i see this gentleman live was with spocks beard and Dream theater (scenes from a memory tour) together in 2000 in Portugal Aula Magna! Feels that was yesterday! Thank you Neal and Jordan for your legacy!
Thank you for TSOAD, Mr. Morse. You've made my life much better. :)
This is so great guys thanks. I would love Jordan to note his own comments on acoustic pianos when DT record songs. My favourite DT songs all have natural piano sounds. There is something about distorted guitars and piano playing I really dig.
It's like I watched a biopic of Jordan Rudess, one of the greatest keyboardist ever exist. Thanks for sharing this interview Neal!
Jordan and Neal, thank you for letting me in on you conversation. 🙂 Musicians talking heart to heart.
Goosebumps when Jordan playing, amazing!
Both masters, talking about stuff. You are amazing. 🤘🏼👏🏻👏🏻
by far one of THE BEST live interviews with these two guys out there! Thank you Neal for sharing!
Wow..another great interview from the two great2 living legends..love it!
Collab please..two melodic geniuses ❤️
Two of my faves on keys. If you're ever in New England , north of Mass AND something breaks,( God forbid) , Let me know.
Two of my favorite keysmen? Yes, please.
David Bowie was so lucky to have Jordan play for him, hopefully he learned something from the that experience.
What a cool fireplace. Also this video is unlisted. You should make it public for way more views. I dont play keys at all but I can listen to these geeks all day.
Keyscape is the bomb - nothing else comes even close for Rhodes/Wurlitzer/other quirky electric pianos. Addicting!!

Agreed. Bought it last year and I love it
Such a great interview. You’re both so inspirational musicians! Thank you
Fabulous conversation between my two favorites keyboardists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get right on that Refugee album Neal! I smell a future Cover to Cover with Someday on it.
Jordan is the a Rudess interview yet! Seeing some of these rockers' health shows they didn't live the Drug rockstar Lifestyle.
Neal you never fail to deliver! Also please consider releasing"One" on vinyl
I enjoyed so much watching this video. Its really special.
Good Lord!! Spectacular Mr. Morse. Two of the most inventive an innovative artists, in recent memory, on one podcast. For all practical purposes this is almost musician porn hahaha. Thank you Neal!!! Great show!!
Thanks a lot Neal. Super nice !
I love how Jordan talks about Tony Levin. It's funny Tony played the fretless bass on Slip Away which Jordan spent a few minutes talking about but he never mentioned it.
When you started to talk about this spiritual "force", you could call it god, I had to think of one of my favourite books. It's from an German author, but I think transcribed it's called "The City of dreaming books". And there is a force that's called "the Orm" and that's exactly what you are describing. Just can recommend this book to anyone. Very good. Think it won some prices here in Germany as best Fantasy-Book in 2009 or something like this. Love from Mainz and hope to see you soon at Loreley or elsewhere ;)
Jordan can compete with Neal :D they both can talk a lot ^^

Imagine Portnoy, Jordan and Neal in the same room, three guys who can talk a lot lol.
Neal, re- Grand Piano, DOOO-ITTT!
Jordan literally has the same Julliard story as Ralph Machio from Crossroads hahaha
Brian May = AC30. Status Quo originally too! Classic Amp.
We all channeling through god and we are the filters changing the energy into physical form Great relaxed conversation!
Thanks guys fascinating ref to my hero Keith Emerson
Imagine an album DT and NMB collaboration.
Neal, you still use a Quadrasynth. Do you feel like maybe 26 years of technical improvement might have left the Alesis in the dust by now? That said, it was a great keyboard for the time. It warms my heart every time I see you playing on it.
Neal, love these interviews. I have one request, please interview Eric "Swiss Army Knife" Gillette.
What a wonderful interview. "All those extra notes," reminds me of The Audience Awaits by Steve Vai. Tumeni Notes anyone?
Wait a minute ... Jordan got that piano in 2006 with 7 years of Dream Theater and had to think about ending up in the poorhouse from buying it?

Do you really think people in Dream Theater are rich? There are many musicians in metal bands that are famous and barely earn anything from their music. DT are certainly a tier above that, but I would wager, not by very much.

@@GamePlayMetal As DT is "certainly a tier above" the average "famous" metal band especially with all of their imitators over the years, I didn't expect them to be super rich but it's still surprising and disappointing that a piano or any asset connected to work be possibly seen as a ticket to the poorhouse instead of as an investment.
Cor I enjoyed that, especially hearing the influence that Keith Emerson had on JR.... but also Neal’s mind expansion caused by Yes... same as me, and wasn’t it just the most amazingly musical time, sadly much of the imagination and innovation was throttled by the recording industry.
Neal: install better lighting for your videos. Shadows galore!
Well, after all, D minor IS the saddest of all keys.
