8:00 is so spot on! I met Rich at a Flying Colors gig and I asked him about Transatlantic's cover of "Nights in white satin" and right away we started talking about vintage reverb units!

I just found this, and it's great to see. I used to hang with Rich in high school in Colorado Springs in 78/79 when we were 17. He would say something, and I would think, "How the hell does he know that??" I last spoke to him by phone in 1981, so this was great to watch. Congrats, Rich. I knew you'd never get a regular job. You & Dan Serna were crazy dedicated to the cause.

To me, the most valuable remark is Rich quoting Neal at 1:00:16 about just play what you love yourself! That is the key to authenticity. Don't try to meet other people's expectations. If you play the music you love, you will play with passion and people will recognize that. And that's exactly what I always felt when listening to Neal's music or being at his gigs. He just loves what he's doing and that really comes across!

Rich is one of my favorite mixers. He’s up there with JJP and CLA in my book. He always manages to massage this otherworldly clarity out of a track.

Definitely, I mean the sound he gets in Neal's solo albums, transatlantic and NMB is just incredible. The clarity of each instrument is phenomenal

14 minutes in they make a very astute observation about today's recording technology. Too many choices. In my little home studio, sometimes I deliberately hold back on doing a kajillion takes and then sorting through them to find the best one. Love these interviews and these are another 2 of my heroes!

Neal Morse! I'm a huge fan of your music, and, seeing this, with Rich Mouser talking about the mixing, I really want to know: When will you start pressing some of your BEST music on vinyl? My favorite album of ALL time is Question Mark. All those other albums in between Testimony and The Grand Experiment are some of the most inspiring music of my life. There's just something so special and unique about listening to your albums on record. Just love your music, Neal! You changed my life for music, and I really listen to it differently now. You helped me to realize how infinite the opportunities are. I love how you make it about the truth and just how incredible it is. I hope you make my favorite albums on my favorite format and I hope I can make music as good as yours someday. P.S., I got The Absolute Universe! It was so unique. Well done to the super-est of groups on number five!!

With Neal being so good at interviewing I'm afraid he'll start doing 17 podcasts a week along with his thousand albums a year and I won't have time for all of it.

Might be more indeed, when you listen a lot to Neal and Transatlantic you understand that these bands woudnl't exist without the Mouser touch nad engineering.
