Musician's Incredible Modern Tiny House & Mobile Music Studio

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This modern tiny house is truly a musicians dream home. Asha Mevlana is an electric violinist with the Trans Siberian Orchestra who is used to life on tour but wanted a solid place to call home. This incredible tiny house is constructed on foundations but is joined by a mobile music studio on wheels, which also doubles as a practice space as well as performance venue.

Asha's home is beautiful and spacious. At 40ft, it's certainly on the larger side of tiny, yet is packed with very clever small space design ideas.

The adjoining mobile music studio is a fantastic addition. Decorated to look like a giant amp, it's marine speakers allow it to also transform into a performance space for wonderful back-yard concerts and also enabling the music studio to be taken on tour and to festivals.

I totally love your show i look forward to Thursday's because I know a new episode will be on.I totally support the tiny house movement and living consciously and getting back to the basics.i have to admit I am a little sad because since the tiny house movement has grown and gained so much attention its getting more and more expensive to be able to build a tiny.my goal once was to buy a little land and build a tiny house but with the building industry capitalizing on this movement as well that dream is going to stay just that because I can no longer afford to buy and build on my land😞😞dont misunderstand me im very happy that the movment has gained so much attention and that the local towns and cities are now letting ppl build but I couldn't afford to pay almost 120,000$ for land and a tiny homestead.love you to pieces Bryce keep doing what your doing.i look forward to watching many more of your shows.and if your ever in Minnesota it would be so awesome to meet you.

Some people can afford it and choose to do that. This place is bigger than my apartment but it's still a unique "condensed" concept. She could probably afford something bigger, but it's more about cutting down for your own needs and wants.

I think for many, tiny houses (less than 400 sq ft) just aren’t practical to live in long term. This is only a little bigger - less than 600, which is a lot more practical. She still doesn’t have very much clothes storage - with clothes in the kitchen! This idea makes it much more doable and functional long term. One of the big elements missing from tiny homes is work space. If there’s a desk it’s usually minuscule with no filing drawer or space for computer equipment/printer. This set up solves that problem for those who need a real home office (which is most people!). I’m a knitter with a huge yarn stash so I’d need a place with a large cabinet/shelves to organize my yarn. This two-building arrangement would solve that problem. If you are a young person or couple hoping to have a family this would also make it more practical. And for older folks - a place to host the grandkids! I just love this.

@Andy Gadd I never at all said affording more space. You can have a smaller bathroom and get more out of a kitchen and living/dining area. I do agree that the ceiling heights should have been the same and averaged out. If people managed their cooking supplies I bet many people can throw out 40% of the cookware they own and still be fine.

I think an “upsized” tiny home is more practical and economical in the long run. Sure a real tiny home is about maximising space and being savvy but you will have to make changes as time goes but this type if tiny living is just nice and you won’t have to keep changing to accommodate extra stuffs in the future.

That's exactly what I have been thinking, most tiny houses videos I watch are about house of 2 or 2,5 meters on the sides by 6 to even 10 meters long but for me and many people out there those sizes might be too extreme seeing as not everyone has the guts to be so radical to move out from a 15x25m or bigger houses to a 2,50x8m tiny house, I mean that is too far. The concept of tiny house is nice and friendly with our planet cause it makes us less greedy but many people wouldn't be able to change their whole lives to this extreme, so I think they should start showing us more of those "not so tiny" houses that are more relatable with the present human reality. That way I would be 100% more interested in living in a "tiny house" or else no way I would live in a place of 2,50x8m. I would find it interesting for example to live in a house about 3x9 or 4x10 tho..

Probably not. Tiny homes often have insides that seem bigger but that's because they don't have a lot. It's a kitchen and living room that is connected with a loft on top. She skimped out on a proper bedroom, and the bathroom, while not over cramped isn't actually that big. So it's just 2 rooms... and that's it... If you have a living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, you aren't worse off. Though she made 2 tiny homes instead.

Having a tiny house isn't the issue, it's having the land to put it on. I've watched a lot of these videos and so many people have gotten their land through family members or know someone who has a farm. Much of the land that is affordable has no utilities and oftentimes not even a road.

Herbie Africa B Yeah, if she could afford that mega tiny house, I’d agree she could afford the land. My point is that a lot of people want to live tiny for financial reasons. But, when you’re faced with the only land you can afford needs thousands and thousands of dollars to make it accessible, to bring utilities to, ppl don’t have that kind of money. Others say well, just have a tiny home that’s self-sustaining/off-grid. That gear - solar panels, water cachement system, etc. is very expensive. I like the show, but it basically ignores the pink elephant in the room, which is the issue of having the land to put it on.

What a fabulous house you've built, and one thing I noticed---even though I have zero pets, nor want any again, I was impressed that you take such excellent care of your dogs, including training and exercising them in a safe, enclosed area. So many people are careless about where their dogs roam, and I can't stand to see them hurt or killed because of neglect, nor can I abide dogs being tied up or chained up outside with rare human contact. All of that to say, you've done a marvelous job--great career, beautiful house(s), and very obviously much-loved, well-cared-for little dogs. @Fuert Neigt The thing is, most of these tiny homes don't remove their own comfort (for the most part). They shrink their living space, but often, keep big what they need to keep big. It's often just a kitchen, living room and bathroom with a bed on a loft.. and often, taking out more than what you need can make you more uncomfortable and having more cleaning space is an issue as well. But we should remember, while tiny houses might seem cramped, they are quite customized.

Great tour. I love the spectrum of budgets and sizes across this tiny house movement. Some people want minimal and pared back while others want to maintain amenity, space and comfort. The garage doors are genius. The finishes palette is sublime. It just sits so nicely among all that green.

Americans who think this is a "tiny house" should really come visit England, especially old mining and factory towns. This is a pretty normal, decent sized house.

In the US it’s definitely tiny. Most people consider 1000 sq ft small here. But it depends where you live. In NYC this much space is pure luxury. They are famous for tiny apartments with giant rents.

As a music teacher working from home every day, this is my absolute DREAM HOME!! Thank you so much for touring this place and showing me that it’s possible to live small and still work from home! My heart was bursting with joy and excitement watching this - I loved every single thing but would definitely raise the bedroom loft ceiling height and extend the loft floor space to accommodate a small clothes storage area.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this tiny home! Beautiful kitchen with full-size appliances. I like that it can fit a normal house-size sofa. The storage coffee table is amazing. Love the colour of the bathroom tiles. The studio is so cool with the amp design on the outside. The roll-up garage doors are great for opening up the space. Love the huge deck too.

I'm a violinist and also a Fresco painter and my living room is in my studio. Five violins hanging on my walls and two easels and a drafting board accompanied by 20 amplifiers and a complete P.A. System including a mixing board, synthesizer and 28 world stringed instruments and 20 electric guitars and bases as well as an acoustic upright Jazz Bass , cello, viola and drum kit. Everything I like so I don't need to leave my home. It's always the right idea to make your home the worlds best place to do your art. This is the first time I succeeded with this, all prior dwellings were just like everyone else's. I'm very happy now. We own our home too! The children all both grown up and out in the world so I was able to put together a home that reflects the inside me.

We don't need big stupid villas that cost million...it's only ego and arrogance and lack of being able to be happy with minimalistic and practical. These "tiny houses" ideas sets the tone of the right and better conscious lifestyle.
