They don't assume RM as a leader....RM has been the leader from day one...he has been chosen as the leader by their label BigHit...doesn't have to do anything with him being fluent in english...he has every single quality that makes a good leader and he's also known as one of the best leaders in kpop....that's why the fandom Army calls him "The President".

RM is not just a leader because he speaks english. Kpop groups have designated leaders who have a lot of responsibilities and RM was designated leader as he was the first member among other things. English is just a bonus.

BTS couldnt go on talk shows becs they werent invited to most of them. Becs their label was small. Even if they were invited they got disrespected many times, so they stopped. Then they started their own variety shows and lives to interact with fans. BTS own variety show “RUN BTS” has become huge that, it alone is aired on south korean tv now

Yoongi has two stage names and two spotify profiles - Agust D and SUGA - because he separates these two personas. As SUGA, member of BTS, he needs to think about other members when he creates music and he needs to create music which fits into concepts of BTS albums. As SUGA, producer for artists, he needs to think about what is popular and how song will do on charts. When as Agust D he just releases music which he wants to release without feeling pressure

There is so much footage that some Armys have already made 11 episodes of a docu called Rise of Bangtan. They were not invited to many talk shows and were often treated badly there so they stopped going to talk shows and have their own reality show called Run BTS. Bon voyage and BTS in the soop. As you saw in Hardships of BTS. They appear for live chat with armys regularly on Vlive. So you can see clips with them talking to the camera. They have been doing this since their pre debut days. They also have cameras fixed everywhere so there are intimate clips even those showing them getting up from sleep.

I will attempt to explain how BTS music production works: 1) They have a collaborative music production process that focuses on teamwork and relies on multiple revisions. Throughout the year, BTS members, Big Hit "in house producers" (musicians who are permanent employees of Big Hit) and foreign producers from outside their company (including western producers) submit beats and demos to their record label. 2) Whenever BTS has to release a new album or a new project, the executive producer (Big Hit CEO, Bang Si-hyuk aka "Hitman Bang", who is originally a professional music producer too) makes a selection of the best demos they have received. BTS members also have a say on which melodies, beats and lyrics make it into the album's potential and final songs. They also pay attention to the order of the tracklist. 3) Suga described this process as "a year long music competition camp", because they compete in equal footing with other musicians. However, the selection is not only based on "Which songs sound prettier or cooler?" (music quality) but on "Which submissions fit better with the pre-established topics of the songs we wanna release now? Which submissions do a better job at expressing the emotion we wanna trasmit?" They also do consider current music trends. 4) Before starting the music recording process, BTS has multiple reunions with their CEO and they decide what is the direction of the new album. BTS decides what is the general concept of each album, and what specific topics do they want to talk about. This is why, even if they don't end up writing a song, it still ususally tells their own story, the ideas and emotions they want to share. 5) The recording process has multiple takes and revisions, until they are satisfied with each track. Usually the memebers record individually their own parts first, then add harmonies, alibis or gang vocals, gradually. In early days, each member used to sing the entire song to see whose voice fitted better which verse/chorus, but nowadays they are able to know that more instinctively, quickly, because they know very well each other voices, styles and strenghts. Parts of the melodies are often modified by the members in this stage, to make the rap and singing transition smoothly, or to add dynamic, or in consideration of the choreographies they may be learning simultaneously while recording. Usually, the order is: beat, lyrics, melody. Sometimes they use an original beat, sometimes a sample. Sometimes the original demo is super similar to the final version, sometimes the song changes a lot. Sometimes the original demo had english lyrics and they add korean verses, sometimes the english lines are added at the end. Some songs are recorded in their recording company (preferably), some songs end up being recorded in hotel rooms while they are touring. Some EPs or albums are stand alones, sometimes they do album trilogies. The title track has to represent the main concept/the soul of the album, the other tracks are written around it. Every song is a slightly unique process. 6) In practice, most of BTS korean discography is co-produced and co-composed by a few BTS members and additional producers. But, the large majority of their lyrics has been written by BTS rappers, who also write all their own rap verses. The amount of people involved in a BTS track can vary a lot, from 2 to 15 people credited (usually title tracks have a higher number of producers involved). Their Japanese original songs are usually produced by UTA and written by Japanese singers, although members occasionaly do have credits in Japanse original songs too. 7) BTS main music producer is Pdogg (this is his artistic name). Pdogg was also somewhat of a music teacher for BTS since pre-debut. Bang PDnim discovered him and hired him before he was well-known (once again, it shows how incredible he is at spotting talent). Other Big Hit producers who are recurrent names in BTS discography are: Slow Rabbit, Supreme Boi, ADORA. *Other familiar names may be: DOCSKIM, Hiss Noise, EL CAPITXN, DJ Swivel, Steve Aoki, etc etc etc. You can actually start to notice everyone's distinctive styles... 8) BTS also has a group of musicians who tours and does live performances with them. They are knwon as "BTS Ghost Band". I am assuming they record instruments for their albums too. I am sure they hire more people depending on what do they need, if they need an orchestra or a marching band. Songs can be re-arranged or remixed for concert. (I know this is normal.) 9) BTS give a lot of importance to the message and lyricism of their songs. Expressing faithfully the emotion and message of a song is a priority, and they do this not only with music (choice of beat, melody) but also with performance. They consider themselves as much singers as performers. That's why storytelling is a huge part of their performance preparation/planning too (stage outfits, set design, choreography, lighting, technology innovations...) Everything has to "fit, transmit the same emotion and story, adding layers to it". Line distribution or other details of a song can be modified, specifically for live performances. They often do specific remixes only for particular stages too. 10) BTS members tend to have a lot of creative freedom and independence for their solo work in general. If a member makes a solo song or mixtape, usually that member has production, compossition and writting credits in all the tarcks. They also pick who they want to collaborate with and can delay the releases as much as they need. Their solo work is a great way to see their individual styles and preferences.

Almost every kpop group has a designated leader. Most of the time it's the oldest or the person who has been in the group for the longest. But sometimes they do a test to decide who is best fit to be the leader.

Here's info that some are still not aware of: ❤️JIMIN, at age 11-12 started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!! So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey! JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. He even won a scholarship, the only student to do so, to study more extensively in China for awhile! All the martial arts training has given JIMIN his phenomenal inner core strength, as well as his amazing flexibility, which has enabled Jimin to achieve all those breathtakingly spectacular gravity defying dance moves! JIMIN has found a way to incorporate all his various dance disciplines, as well as his extensive training in martial arts into his unique, ever so special, outstandingly amazing dancing abilities!! JIMIN, has been called 'Stage Commander', known for his amazing, so mesmerizing stage presence. Each dance move is executed flawlessly, his extensions all the way to the fingertips, his lines so clean, his fluidity, his poise & elegance, his ever so graceful moves, but yet, sharp, quick & deliberate when required! He focuses on every detail! Known for his work ethics and being a perfectionist to a fault, spending hours in the practice room, will study every move, even focusing on hands to fingertips. Even his facial expressions, or the look in his eyes! Every single detail he focuses on. Jimin tends to take in the music and interprets all the emotion & feelings, whatever it's trying to convey through his body movements as well as his vocals. JIMIN has won the prestigious titles for 2 yrs in a row for both KING OF KPOP, as well as also winning BEST TOP #1 DANCER IN KPOP, now 3 yrs in a row, as well!! Jimin is also referred to as "Rookie's Bible" because all rookie idols, try to emulate & study every move he makes, trying to learn from him! Aside from all that Jimin has won other countless award, broken many records. His 5 solos have broken charting records worldwide, as well as being top seller, plus most listened to. Also breaking records for being #1 branding marketing idol, every single month for now over two yrs, a feat never achieved before, and still ongoing! So much more as well but will stop here.

No, most Idol (kpop) groups have leaders. He wasn't HIRED to be leader, he just happened to be the first member of the original group that the CEO was creating. There was a group before BTS and he was chosen to be the leader for it and it continued when it broke up and changed to become BTS. He wasn't chosen because he speaks English. English wasn't important because at the time the Idol industry didn't care about breaking into the Western market. Their markets were Korea, China and Japan mostly. Suga goes by another name for his solo projects because he wants to, it's not a requirement. Yes they all have their own studio in every building BH had. They all have new studios in the new Hybe building, we have only seen Suga's studio. They take video footage for tons of things, we don't know how much they have. Much of the footage from this video came from VLIVE or Memories DVDs they put out. Since they didn't have money or influence to get on shows or have performances, BH and BTS made their own content to show to their fans. That's why we have tons of footage cause they want us to know and be involved. They have a full time choreographer at Hybe who has been with them since training days but they hire choreographers as well.

i won't be covering every detail i guess, but mention something as the video is a little bit outdated and stereotyped RM (Namjoon) now stands for Real Me and his studio "MON STUDIO" is now "Rklive" they all are now better with English, but sometimes still shy to talk :) in a lot of Dynamite promotion interviews you can see them speaking English . they've been practising you can tell Jin is incredibly talented and hard working and smart and caring. never ever believe the words that he's lacking something bc he started sing and dance late, he is not. Jin's vocal range is INSANE believe me Suga (Yoongi) may be portrayed tough, but once you know him more, you see that he is the softest human being, we adore him he actually does have a lot of identity theme in his solo works. i'd point out "The Last" and whole D-2 mixtape. he is very raw and honest in his solo music J-Hope (Hobi) is a sunshine, but also a strong backbone of the group, RM once said he is the second leader, because he is very professional. actually they are all like a one fully functioning organism, it can't be complete with one of them missing. he is good at dancing, rapping AND singing. he's actually a sub-vocalist in the group Jimin used to be insecure about his singing, because before joining BigHit training he was a dancer and only later started professionally sing. add to that, he was the last to join BTS in their predebut time, so he had about only a year to train and his place in the group often was under the question. he is extremely hardworking (as they all are though). he also used to have eating issues because of the pressure to look better and better and better to maintain that 'sexy' label that has been put on him from the start. but through long years he developed his self-confidence despite all the struggles and now he is an incredible singer with angelic voice and he is beautiful just as he is, and he knows it all :) also he learned not only contemporary, but popping and a handful of martial arts as well. he is a very diverse dancer, often takes the center, so you see him a lot V (Tae) wanted to be not a farmer but a saxophonist as of today they all produce music. RM, Suga and J-Hope mostly, but JK, V, Jimin and Jin are catching up and work on BTS' and their own music a lot, army are waiting for their solo mixtapes. on the latest 7th anniversary i think J-Hope said that it's cool that vocal line started taking this responsibility too :) as of the latest of their released solo songs check those ones: Still With You (JK), Abyss (Jin), Christmas Love (Jimin), Snow Flower (V) Jungkook is so talented in video making, even aside from his GCF series (which are amazing, check it too). He also is credited as Director of their resent MV 'Life goes On'

This video is a Really good overall video to know the basics. If someone wants s detailed description, just go through comments, but people who are just starting with BTS, this video is really good. There is not too much info and everything relevant about the members are there. Since its a "member introduction" video.

This video is actually not very complete and haven't been updated and I think there's SO MUCH MORE to be told about them especially Jin, I don't think that video did him enough justice though it's quite enough introduction for those who just started learning about BTS. So I'm just gonna say that it's REALLY amazing that Jin is as amazing as he is now even though he started late comparer to the other members. I couldn't even imagine the pressure, seeing everyone basically already have some basics. He must've worked really hard and put so much time to improve both his singing and dancing. I'm also glad that the other boys also willing to help him, help one another and be the group that as amazing as they are now. He also produced some songs. Incredible songs!! I also think Jin holds the "balance" in the group. He always try to lighten up the mood, bringing everyone up, and sometimes I think he's also selfless and incredibly generous to the other members despite being the oldest one and that's very admiring. I understand why the members are very grateful to have him in the group. He's overall an amazing human being and musicians :")

For example, V learned saxophone when he was a kid. Jin plays piano and guitar. Jungkook plays guitar and learning drums

It is more appropriate to say that 3 rappers of BTS are songwriters of most songs, not producers. Because out of 3 rappers only SUGA is an established producer. Of course RM and J-Hope have experience in producing songs, but they are rarely involved into production and it is mostly for their solo work. While SUGA is producing for BTS, for solo and for other musicians

  • @maykacha4987

    @maykacha4987

Actually the 3 are all full members of the Korean Music Copyright Association. That covers all of their work. Sugar has produced the most but RM and Hope have both produced. RM has done the most Lyrics, followed by Suga and then JHope. The other members are not full members but are I guess they call it like Associate members of the Association. As all of the members have done some lyric writing and other than Jin they have worked on the production. Jin has I believe on his own songs. He probably doesn't view his input to be enough to say he was a producer.

  • @tylysm9216

@@maykacha4987 yes, they are full members of KOMCA, which credits songwriters, it has nothing to do with producers. As I said they have experience in producing, but they do it rarely. All of them produced less than 10 songs (except for SUGA) and it is mostly for their solo. So when people are saying "BTS produce most their songs" they are spreading misinformation and it is more appropriate to say that BTS are involved in writing most their songs

These Korean variety shows really drive the success the idol groups and not being invited can really deter a group's success. Being from a small company with little influence in the entertainment industry BTS was rarely invited. They needed to find their own way to connect with their fans hence You Tube vlogs. BTS also developed their own variety show, RUN bts to help connect with their fans. The kpop industry as a whole is very different ...its much more than just music. They are personalities. Agust D is Sugas aka outside of Bangtan. When he releases solo music it's as Agust D (he also hits a lot harder in his solo work). When he raps or is representing BTS he maintains his BTS idol name. His given name is Min Yoongi. All idols have stage names.

I think one of the reasons the army feels so close to BTS is because they share so much content with us. Even before they debuted they would film vlogs and upload them constantly without even editing or go live so we feel like we know them as people. The new army made docuseries “rise of bangtan ” is like 75% from members point of view, because there is just so much. It’s amazing and so much fun to hear things straight from them thru the years. I don’t know any western artists that share as much. At least none that I follow. 💜💜

18:58 You will be greatly surprised how much footage BTS has 🤣 their videos, vlogs, etc. start from even their pre-debut days, they have a lot of shows they've created on their own, from their own Variety shows to Reality Shows to just Behind The Scenes content of them, not to mention Documentaries. I'm telling you this is how ARMYs feel close to them because we see how Human they are with the content we have watched. Even newer fans will find themselves learning about the Band's personalities in just a week by just watching either their RUN BTS (variety Show) to just their little clips of Behind The Scenes which their channel (BANGTAN TV) releases every now and then. I bet you even if they go on hiatus for 2 yrs because of their mandatory Military Service, fans will feel like they didn't leave at all because of their video content.

Also you'll see a certain pattern on how they're usually introduced. It goes by fanchant order or age order. If it's fanchat order it starts from the leader, RM then next is Jin who is the oldest which continues chronologically down to the youngest member, Jungkook. If it's by age, they start with Jin first, then Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, Jungkook.

Giving a little history from before BTS because it was almost a different group. When Big Hit was forming a hip hop group Bangtan boys or should be called Bangtan In 2010 the group consisted of 7 members just like now . But the members were different. it consisted of RM, Suga, J-Hope, i11evn, HunChul, Kidoh, and Supreme Boi,. When Big Hit decided to change the group from a hip hop group the an idol group the only ones who stayed were RM, SUGA AND J-HOPE, Supreme Boi stayed at Big Hit as a producer and songwriter. BTS Memories, DVD at the end of the year. Bts season greetings, once a year: Photobook + DVD (them having photoshoots in different countries and doing tourist activities and interviews), Run (playing games), Bon Voyage (travelling, spending time together), for special concerts/fan meeting concerts (little skits, special interviews and fun-facts), vor celebrating their anniversary (games, group talking about their journey, things they want to tell each other), footage from TV shows (with them or footage that the TV stations found somewhere, like old school videos). And then there are several other interviews and jungkooks GCF .

Shoutout to other ARMY who are also doing a great job answering questions in the comments! I typed this as I was watching, sorry if anything is redundant or for any errors - tried my best! Production: in general, BTS members have many more songwriting than producing credits. They are great producers in their own right, but they usually leave it to their in-house producers. SUGA is the most prolific producer of the members. The rappers are co-producers of their own mixtapes (not released under BTS), and as the vocalists develop their skills, we hope for mixtapes from them as well. V and Jungkook are actively working on theirs. Variety shows: no idea about other groups’ contracts, but it’s very much a way to promote. BTS, being from a small company, didn’t get as many invitations to appear in the early days, and often when they did, were mistreated. So they just created their own show. Also, there are a few of those shows that treated all idols poorly, not even just BTS. Playing instruments: SUGA on piano is the most proficient. Most others can play at least basic piano. Aside from Jin, SUGA and Jungkook have also been learning guitar. We also saw Jungkook on the drums in a recent Dynamite performance for Music Cares. Studios: last we heard, RM, SUGA, j-hope, and Jungkook had individual ones. They just moved to a brand new building, so maybe they all have their own now! The order: this is the usual order they are listed in, as well as the order of the “fanchant” - RM first, because he’s the leader, and the rest in descending age order. Choreo: their main choreographer is Son Sungdeuk, who’s been with them since the beginning. They collaborate with other choreographers as well. It’s said that members, especially j-hope as the dance leader, contribute to the choreo, but honestly this is probably the one aspect that they aren’t as involved in usually. Whew that was long, but hope it helped! Thanks for all the BTS content 💜

These clips of them are either behind the scenes clips from the company itself, or clips from live streaming with members to their fans (on an app called Vlive), or specials that Korean broadcast companies do that highlight an artist when they are about to release/drop new songs/albums. Some of those interview clips showing their studios was filmed by the other members as a behind the scenes look, or by staff to document things, and then music shows that showcase music on a stage (kind of like a live MTV special but on stage with performances from many artists/groups) that will air these kind of behind the scenes clips. They just have content flowing from everywhere. TV, Vlive, Weverse, KZread (BANGTANTV), Soundcloud, Documentary series, etc. They even have a fun variety show their company produced to provide fun, and comedic entertainment for fans by playing games with each other and such called "Run BTS" found on Vlive as well. The amount of content they produce is insane. It's very hard to keep up with it all. I'm still trying to watch everything.

Just one answer and one observation. Others have already explained about RM being the leader even though he's not the oldest and even a small difference in age in Korean culture requires deferential treatment. So he's pretty extraordinary. You asked how they decide the order in videos like this. Usually it will be about RM first then the others by age, as this video does. The observation. I don't know how many times I have heard them say we'll do better, we'll work harder. At this point it's hard to imagine but they keep doing it. They've been working hard during Covid. After all the Be promotions and performances and year end awards performances they came back with MTV Unplugged and I heard many professionals who follow them, voice coach reactors and people like DJ Jino comment on the improvement in control, technique and confidence some of them were showing. Even I could pick up on it. They really do constantly strive to improve and learn new things, from a vocal and performance standpoint to learning new things such as production, playing instruments, pursuing masters degrees, foreign languages. They're all quite impressive young men.

Jacob, they are always being filmed by either the Hybe/Big Hit staff or the members themselves. This is their way of sharing a part of their day to day life with their Army ( true fans). These are shared on their own social media channels.

They call their boss CEO, because he's the CEO of their company, which is a entertainment company and not a record label. In the west there's record labels and then managers/managing companies that deal with everything else beside the music. In Korea, the enternainment companies handle everything: they train the kids, record and produce the music, release it and handle every promotion, sponsorship, marketing, and other work oportunities for the idols, like acting, modeling, etc. They control the whole schedule and everything is handled in house.

AGUST D backward is DT (Daegu Town) Suga. I'm not exactly sure why he insists on using another name for his solo stuff, but I am assuming that it has to do with a different persona, because his solo raps are very different from BTS raps. Also, it seems like his 2 personas are beefing in Daechwita.

Big hit films them almost all the time, the are followed around with cameras by their staff, look at their official KZread page, there are tons of videos! Also they live stream on an app called Vlive, where they might talk individually, or sit and eat together on camera while streaming or just hang out together, they also do a show called Run Bts which is also on VLive where they do various challenges! These boys share a lot with Army! It’s part of the reason they have so many fans is because they give Army so much of them!
