I'm so glad you recognize & appreciate how much talent & work goes into singing while dancing. You also mentioned how much attention to detail the choreo requires, that they know exactly how far and direction to move to not bump into anyone else... You should watch one of their dance practice videos to realty appreciate these details (I recommend "Danger" or "Blood, Sweat, & Tears") because the guys are constantly moving backwards into an exact place in a new formation without ever looking behind themselves or running into anyone else. The amount of practice that requires for everyone to have that confidence of movement is staggering to me.

Yes! BST is also especially hard because some of them (JK, Hobi) have to move very long distances during the choreo and they still manage to do it precisely and in time a while singing

I love the adlib Jimin did at 6:52, instead of sining the melody, he sang the harmony, probably cuz he was just really tired and he's been saying all the 'you can't stop me loving myself' for the entire song. BTS are stage kings! They truly are amazing, and if you're amaze with their performance, you should watch their 2-3 hours concerts where they are singing live and dancing maybe like 90% of the time.

Their dance coach has always told them, and TXT, to practice a lot to gain muscle memory. They also practice singing a lot basically for the same. That way, during the performance, you don’t have to divide your brain into lyrics, and dance steps, and performing, and whatever may happen during a live. You let muscle memory do it’s job and concentrate in other things.

They practice choreography hours and hours a day...up to 12 hours. They videotape themselves to see their mistakes. J-Hope is the dance captain and he makes sure they are perfect. If they make a mistake they look right at J-Hope and know he is displeased. They have discussed this in personal interviews. Jin had never danced before and it would take him longer to memorize the steps. He would practice overnight to get down the steps. When I first "met" them...saw them on the Jimmy Fallon show performing at Grand Central Station....I was overwhelmed and amazed at their talent particularly in the choreography department...since I have been a theatre choreographer. So from that day forward I watched all the BTS content I could on You Tube. It took me over 8 months to find a mistake. And I have found only 3 in a year. Each time it was RM making the mistake. (I don't count falling down on the stage, slipping, or bumping into each other a mistake...only if they do wrong choreo. I can tell you they do at least 5 to 6 takes to get a perfect tape for TV. Again, this is per discussions and interviews I have heard. I heard a lady who was a backup singer say that they did at least 6 rehearsals of each song when they were on SNL. She said she had never been around such professional performers who were passionate about their craft! She said they loved what they were doing...were loving to each other...and so very nice to everyone there....even the clean-up crew. They are first class all the way. And actually first class athletes to dance and sing like you said....over and over til its perfect!!!

Like others have said, the ticket buying experience for BTS is straight out of the Hunger Games.

The moon is real and they filmed this at Gyeongbokgung Palace. This was filmed during one of Korea's fall festivals. When they began their careers, They would practice singing on Tread Mills to build up their stamina and their endurance. Their ability to have enough air to get their line out, is amazing. Sometimes you can hear them taking a BIG BREATH, just before their verse. Yes, they are all involved with the whole song, notice that they are stable when they are all out and out singing/dancing together and it's carefully choreographed so they can sing their lines.

There's debate about whether the moon is real or not. This was taped during Chuseok or shortly before. That is the season of the full Harvest Moon, the biggest moon of the year usually. If this was filmed when the moon was rising and the atmosphere was magnifying both its size and the depth of its color, that would have been a real moon. Where I live, which is approximately the same latitude as Seoul, I have seen Harvest Moons that big and that deep in color. If somebody can get a map of the Palace complex and the Pavilion this was taped in front of, and determine the Pavilion's orientation, and then check the moon rising tables for the week in which it was taped, we might be able to get a better handle on whether it was real or CGI.

they are humans so sometimes they do misstep or forget moves in choreo. Rarely but still! That's why if I'm not mistaken after every concert they have this break down where they point out mistakes just to take note and avoid them next time. That perfectionist mentality! Oh yeah, also like other people pointed out it used to be really hard to get tickets before covid and during last year the fandom DOUBLED and everyone is starving for concerts. It's going to be unreal to get some.

(I'm talking about total capacity, of course it has to be reduced for concerts since the stage takes up a whole side.) Interesting fact about when they shoot prerecorded performances like this is how particular all the members are with every single detail. They monitor their performance carefully and wouldn't hesitate to do it again to give the best performance to their audience. I love how they all work so hard for every single performance and would never settle for anything but the best for the viewers. It's the same reason why ARMYs love all seven of them so much. They work hard and they deserve all the recognition and love they're getting and so much more.

I heard BTS practice by singing while running on a treadmill so yeah they're working super hard. I love Jimin's growls too! They are so sexy :D He often does it during concerts forgetting that he's not in a rock band LOL And that note change at 6:51 is beautiful too, love it more than original tbh. Jimin is an insanely talented vocalist! Besides being great at controlling his voice, he *LOVES* playing with it during live performances. He would often change notes, tones, keys, delivery... everything during live performances if he feels like it. His range and tonal abilities are also amazing: from higher than Jomolungma high notes to very sultry and gritty low notes, from crystal clear vocals, to airy magical sound, to heavy emotional pain-like strain, to sultry like thick honey with natural huskiness vibrato-like notes. And that not to mention his dancing abilities, stage charisma and magical star factor. No wonder he's Korea's fave and King of Kpop 😁 P.S.: BTS are unmatched. It probably too them 2-3 times to get the best recording :)

Everyone below has already mentioned their hard work and effort so I’ll mention their achievement from that hard work. Watch some behind the scenes of award functions where other kpop groups are anticipating for BTS performance. BTS have an extremely relaxed manner when they perform and they have the ability to turn any stage into their personal concert. *THAT* is how good their lives are.

So, I just wanted to mention in regards to talking about BTS's professionalism, stage know-how, etc BTS are technically industry veterans. I know for the western industry that often undermines BTS and people new to BTS it's hard to believe they are so good but the boys have been together for around 10 years and have been performing as BTS for 8 years. They are professional because they have been on stage a crap ton and have a lot of experience with live performances, training, etc. Plus with how involved the members are with the music-making process they know the equipment well.

We have been long appreciating bts singing live while dancing with that kind of energy; without u mentioning it 😂 we know they can hardly breathe with any of their performance; they gave their all to give us excellent shows, we have always been grateful for them showing their endless love for their army. To the point of they even make us worry about their health; they just don't wanna disappoint army 🤧

I'm hoping after covid they add more dates to their tour. The 2020 one sold out so quickly it was unbelievable. I have been enjoying your guitar covers on stigma and euphoria so far. I personally think it's a great idea. Thanks for all your well thought out content.

The choreography is brilliant. I'm glad you're recognizing the contribution that dance makes to their performances. I'm glad that you're also internalizing how hard they work, and the difficulty of what they are doing. It's not just the exertion, or the breath control, or how the design of the choreography and the interleaved vocal parts assignments allow for breathing spaces, it's also the sometimes incredible complexity of the choreographic moves on an individual basis. If you think singing while dancing is hard, try mimicking one of their choreographies, without singing, as a first step. Doing that will also help you develop answers to your question about how do they know where they are in their formations. If you watch any dance practice, and pick out Park Jimin and follow only him for one or two watches, you will learn a lot about those formation transitions. He is the dancer who moves most speedily, and in the most complicated ways, to complete formation changes. You can see his awareness of what he has to do. And how he keeps his alertness hidden from most people who are watching. Like a magic trick. Because of his martial arts and contemporary dance training, the responsibility of the most extreme details of formation changes often fall on him. I'm wondering what it is you liked about the cinematography. I can understand a person wanting to kind of do covers of BTS songs. I can also understand wanting to do a mix of oneself and BTS instrumentals. But. Why would that be more important then doing one's own original songs? Since one of the most important things about BTS's work is how much uniqueness they bring into existing genres, how they make existing genres their own, isn't that something that you also want to do in your own way, without piggybacking on their work? Watching your BTS reactions as a series, I continue to enjoy how happy their work makes you as you encounter it on several different levels. There is something in you that is blossoming. It's not just the audience interaction and support. There's something that you are imbibing from what BTS does, that is more or less giving you more-certain permission to be yourself completely, creatively and energetically. And it's a joy to see. It's a grappling with some of the most difficult aspects of being an artist in any field, and you're doing a great job.

We're not that far away, lol. I'm in Medford, NY. :) Been having fun catching up on your BTS playlist. :) And YES, I subscribed, lol. Gotta support local channels. We Kpop fans know what it takes for our idols to sing and dance so easily. They all practice 12-14 hours DAILY, so...yeah. We get it and appreciate it, believe you me! I'm not sure how many takes this idol performance took, but they also have one-take videos (Save Me, as an example) so don't sleep on them!!! You should check out their behind the scenes videos. They have a lot up Bro, MSG? Nah, fam, try MetLife Stadium! Lol. I still have my tickets from last year, so. Just so you know, BTS concert tickets are NOT easy to come by!!! They sell out in MINUTES!!! It's freakin' ridiculous! ARMY be going thru it!!! LMAOOO. I've seen them several times (VERY lucky me!!!) and BTS concerts are LIFE ALTERING, I kid you not!!!!

Actually they don't do many takes. They try to do it in less than three or four. They have said "we do like three complete runs and pick the best out of them" they don't like clipping or piecing together performances. Music shows do that A LOT so you see differences there but with their performances, they like full runs. When it comes to concerts #1: they don't do MSG, they do Citi Field usually if they are doing NY. #2: Buying in bulk like that is almost impossible because they can sellout stadiums and arenas in 30 mins and #3: They haven't officially cancelled their 2020 tour in the US so all those ticket buyers are going to EITHER be able to keep their seats when they do come back here or have first serve at new dates and seats. BTS is a hard ticket to get ALWAYS.
