Love the drumming the first time I heard the song. It drives the song so well without overpowering it. They are a great set of musicians.

I want to thank you for a beautiful reaction. As a musician of 56 plus years, it is so hard to find a good reaction channel that can actually articulate what they hear in the music. I don't know if you studied music theory, but it seems like it. I have been following Band-Maid since 2014 and I believe Kanami Tono is one of the best writers and composers in music today. As one musician to another very impressed with your comments and reaction. Band-Maid Forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🕊️🇺🇸

Band-Maid always does what needs to be...nothing more and nothing less. My favorite Saiki vocal part is that one short staccato delivery. "Manners" (music video recommended) is another song that is not over complicated, yet delivers big. Good Stuff VC!

That last scene: they wanted you to see the set. They really liked the set, they were proud of it, the greenery, and the allusions to their past, they wanted to share it. Band-Maid has always been about serving the song. During their shows they make sure that everyone gets their time in the spotlight, but still, the song is always king, and none of them tries to make the song about their solo. For better or worse men make decisions by vying for leadership. Women however, make decisions by consensus, and in Band-Maid's case that methodology works for them. Not to say that the members of Band-Maid don't have strong personalities and don't have contentions, but they have figured out how write and perform their music in a way that serves them all. And we are all the better for it.

[Bestie, co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus.] MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! Miku’s English lyrics (I bet with Saiki and Mikey-chan's influence) are heartfelt. "I can't look into your eyes." Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞 Thx, Mikey & Band-Maid! FYI - The Maids just released a "Making of Bestie" on their websites where they explain the song and look of their awesome MV. Thx, VaCro!

Band maid does punk and pop-punk, metal, classic rock, speed metal etc. We've just been saying it's just Band Maid. They also have songs that include classic Japanese instruments. ("Gioncho" kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6GH1pmofbizk9Y.htmlsi=Drwk9ufJsbZRbHkm). For a good pop punk sound check out "Alone" kzread.info/dash/bejne/qKagpNmNn8-vj8o.htmlsi=-QpUfifduAlpmxhe Seiki's natural speaking voice is kind of low and sultry sounding.

Thank you for your reaction, analysis, and insights. It does help me understand the song and why it appeals so much to me. In my opinion, MISA and Akane are one of the most intuitively brilliant, "rhythm sections" in rock and roll. Kanami always finds a way to have her solo riff fit perfectly into the feel of the song.

This song is unusual because it was co-written with Mikey-chan of Incubus. If I heard correctly he wrote the solo, delivered in the Kanami fashion of adding to and not overpowering the song.

A lot of their earlier music was based on the favourite western rock and grunge bands which resulted in their modern take on a rocky pop punk sound. Great reaction- thanks. As long you react to official Band-Maid videos from their site you shouldn't get any strikes. The band members watch reactions to their songs on youtube.

Nice one. Love a more technical reaction. They’re great players, but there are a lot of more technically advanced bands. What makes them stand out is their writing. It comes down to creativity and good taste. Their rhythm guitarist didn’t even play guitar when they started, had to learn on the job, and they made great music the whole time. That two note solo section is a good reminder that technique only matters so much.

This was a collaboration with Mike Einziger of Incubus, who they met on tour in the US and became friends with. This is why the lyrics are all in English and they are not wearing their normal maid outfits. Mike played with them on their first live performance of this song during the opening act (which was Band-Maid) during Incubus's tour of Japan. You can find fan footage of that performance. The style of this song is not quite 100% Band-Maid -- similar to "The Dragon Cries", another collaboration. That's not a critique of the song as music, just an observation. Of course, the musicianship is 100% Band-Maid -- that never changes.
