You should check out their newest song that they just released yesterday! It's called Older and it's featuring Luke's fiancée Sierra Deaton. It's adorable, I've been listening to it on repeat since it came out! Also, they released another song called Blender about a month ago (there's a music video for that one)😊

I find it so interesting how they actually kind of made a and m song that is really good with only 1 verse and 1 chorus of lyrics as the second verse is the same as the first just with more energy (and an octave higher). Even the bridge has nothing new added to it. The only thing new is the one change in the later chorus

It actually took me quite a few listens to realise this (perhaps because I usually process music sonically before noticing things lyrically), but once I did I thought it was so clever because it honestly doesn't sound overdone or repetitive in any way!

Had the same response when I first heard this! Definitely one of my favourite songs by them ever- and I am a long time fan (since before their debut album). You can really tell how much they have matured over the years. The songs from this new album so far feel extremely raw as well and that's because 5SOS are heavily involved in producing/writing on a lot of the songs (although I know Jon Bellion had a big part in this song). I am really looking forward to their new album!

I was hoping you'd react to this one! Did you see Jon Bellion was deep in the writing and production of this one? To me, I can definitely hear his influence in it - from the slightly unconventional pop structure, the dynamic upward build in the vocals and then the drop, and the mix of live and e-drums - and the production reminds me of some of his work too, partly just because it's got effects but they're use in service of the art and lightly. It's of course a 5sos song, but what a cool collab. It's Michael on those super high harmonies - people have been sleeping on just how good he is! (and omg, I love the opening crunchy guitar)
