    Walking in the Chalk outlines Is referring to the Over medicated foggy feeling when he was being fed so many "anti- depressants" hat he didn't need. Its like he was functioning but numb and not living. For people with depression, the meds make things better, for people who are not depressed take it get really drunk/high/zombie feeling. That should have clued the idiots treating him that they had the wrong diagnosis.

    Ren has said that he spends hours and hours meticulously mixing the vocals to compensate for the sound and volume imbalances from using the collar mic. He also did that mixing for the Big Push videos. They had an i phone in the drum set and speakers wired into a zoom for them. He went into this in detail talking with Elizabeth, the Charismatic Voice. In MG3 they invested in higher quality mics so his job wasn't so hard.

    "Chalk outlines" refers to the feeling some people get when they take antidepressant medications. It just sort of washes everything away, all the feeling. I would love for Andy to see more Chinchilla and get his take on her. Fingers Live, in particular, would be a great reaction. I would also love to see his reaction to Seven Sins.

    depression meds like SSRIs are really notorious for giving that numb or "dead" feeling. It's important to let your prescribing doctor know if you begin feeling dissociated, numb, zombie-like, etc... it could mean it's time to change your meds. I hate the medication musical chairs just to get the right med. And then comes the weeks of testing and trying to get the right dosage. _Then_ , in a few years at the most, your body adjusts to it and either doesn't work at all, or it works too effectively, putting a glass wall between you and your emotions. Neither of those is fun. Plus, coming off of them even properly ( _never stop psyche meds without a doctor's help_ ) you can get some nasty withdrawals. Paxil was my nightmare. I was on it for over 5 years and became emotionless. I masked for a while. I knew which emotional responses were required with each situation. I just couldn't _connect_ with any of them. So they weaned me off, the glass wall shattered under a tidal wave of virulent, technicolor emotions. Add that to withdrawal symptoms, and you get a fun mental breakdown. Anyway, I'm on Zoloft (sertraline) for a second time, and since it usually works for a while, I'm taking what I can from it. Meds and mental disorders are so hard and frustrating, especially when you have unprofessional, uncaring doctors out there just trying to fund their retirement by shoveling as many pills that they can at people who need more than that. Get second opinions and check reviews. And it's nothing to be embarrassed about if your therapist/ doctor is not a good fit for you. You gotta go with your gut. It's hard to get help if you can't connect with your helper. Sorry for the novella ... I, once again, have put everyone to sleep, lol. Well, hope it's nighttime and you get good rest and sweet dreams 😴💜🌻

    @@NixyRose72 You definitely did not put everyone sleep. You brought great awareness to a lot of the issues people face with medication and getting the right treatment team to help support them in whatever ways they need. I work in the mental health field, and I can honestly say it's frustrating to see people have to go through the "medication musical chairs" that you so perfectly described. Medication is a difficult thing, especially since it's not a "one pill fits all" approach that can be taken. Hence why stating the message of second opinions and asking questions is great! The great thing is that there are a lot of professionals out there that are wanting to help, and just like finding the right friend group to surround yourself with for positive experiences, it may take some time to find the right professional, and the medication that works for an individual. I can tell you have experienced a lot, and your comments definitely bring great awareness which is needed.

    @brandonpercak4587 Oh wow, thank you! I needed a positive today. I'm really glad that I can make a difference even if only one person hears and feels reassured or guided. I had to have our beloved 15-year-old cat helped across the Rainbow Bridge yesterday, and it's been a very rough day, so you posted at the right time. Yeah, my life has been... challenging. I won't go into great amounts of detail because, one, it's not relevant, and b. it's a LOT lol, but between physical disabilities _including_ a severe chronic pain disorder and long-term mental and emotional struggles (some hereditary, like depression/anxiety), I've had a lifelong on and off relationship with doctors and psychiatric doctors/therapists/counselors. The last ten years have been interesting with med regulating. Unfortunately, with physical issue meds and psychotropic meds, sometimes you get bad combos and contraindicated combos or just really bad side effects and too many things you gotta take to figure out which one is suddenly causing the bodily drama lol. (And boy is my 50-year-old body a massive drama queen, lol). I would be thrilled if my years of run-ins with bad docs and pill pushing docs and finding the right docs and/or med combos can maybe help someone else learn that they are ultimately in control. Unless things have gotten way out of their ability to make those decisions (harm to themselves or others, etc), they are the one who decide who and what about their medications and doctors. I remember the weird feeling of astonishment upon learning that I CAN fire my doctor if I think they are not the best fit (giant people pleasing idiot here, lol). My mom actually called him a jackass lol. (I _never_ left that particular jerk's office feeling good about myself) If I can save someone else a little time with my own journey, I'm more than happy to do it. Even if it's only one person. Hey, that's one person who learns they don't have to keep a shrink/ doctor that they are not compatible with or that they can ask questions and also ask another doctor for corroboration. It's an empowering, self-worth lifting feeling. And I'm rambling away again. Tldr: Thank you so much for a positive message on a really, really bad day. 🌻💜🌻

    I just wanna point out there that there is such a thing as mixing multiple mics for vocals and acoustics, such as lavaleires, maybe some on the camera rig, and even condenser mics placed around the room. After the performance is recorded live, then in post, the various sinc'ed channels from the mics can give you opportunity to balance output, mix room sounds to the levels desired, while minimizing plosives and projection fade from head turning, etc. The personal performance mics used for live recordings have come a long way. I would suggest to never consider that there is only 1 mic per performer as you might see in a studio recording.

  • @itsandiroo

    @itsandiroo

    8 ай бұрын

    Absolutely!! What’s crazy too, is how they avoid phasing issues using so many microphones too. But using multiple mics to record one source/signal isn’t anything new, engineers have been doing that on drums, pianos and other acoustic instruments for years, it’s SO impressive to me! So seeing Ren utilize these legendary tracking techniques is so fascinating 🖤

    This is my favorite. This is exactly how it feels to be prescribed psych meds, going off one, adding a new one, highs, lows, knowing as things are going well that your body’s going to fail you again eventually. There is a part of you that is afraid of being OK because you begin to hope, but for years, for decades, your body has betrayed you. Just as you settle in to being good and achieving something important to you it will be ripped away because you get sick again or your symptoms worsen. Then you work hard on getting healthy and the psych dr. tops it off with some new meds, that of course have more side effects, and you bury feeling and personality and dreams in exchange for being a halfway functional human being, if just for a little while.

    A big favourite. Everything about this is beautiful. To think that something as wonderful as this came out of a description of the chemical oblivion some prescription medicines put you in. Empty chalk outlines. But, once again it's a song of hope. Both Ren & Chinchilla nailed it on this. They work so well together and it still rips me apart every time I hear it. Both in white - chalk outlines.

    You know what I love about reactions - is the different angles on music. It's especially good for me to hear reactions from other musicians. I take it in, and hopefully can improve my own art. BP - you've (not so quietly) built one of the best reaction platforms on KZread. Kudos. Really. I remember watching your early content thinking "do we really need yet another reaction channel?" Obviously, you've proven me wrong. Your variety of guests, quality of content, and I know while you are off the cuff, there is a lot of planning and design with what you do. This is probably the best reaction channel out there.

    I keep meaning to comment on how I enjoy your channel. I also wanted to say that you do make me cry sometimes. I lost my son at 4 months old in 1992, I also lost my step son two years ago due to a motorcycle accident. He was 20, but I helped raise him for over half of his life so it very much felt like I lost him as if he were my own. My heart goes out to you and your wife. I know how life changing it is, and how you have to learn to live another life as a different person. I’m very happy that you have a beautiful daughter now. ❤ much love you and your family!

    this song wouldn't sound out of the ordinary if played on a radio multiple times a day like most of the pushed mainstream music is.

    The way I see the story here is Ren's char is going through something and his singing brings forth a ghost who went through the same thing. And she ended up dying from it before getting better which is why she kind of takes over the song towards the end as it ends w/ her solo and emotion.

    Why hasn't he listened to Rens album though? Surely he would give it a listen if he likes him!

    I would have thought chalk outlines would refer to a body on the ground as you said, so then making floating outlines walking dead
