    In the early 80's, I snuck into my parent's room when my folks were away and found a record that said in little red letters at the top "The Record" and "FEAR" below it... My little kid hands clumsily put it on our record player and mimicked what I saw my mom do when she played her Elvis Presley records. I was excited, because I had seen the album before and when I asked about it, my dad said that I wasn't allowed to listen to it. Forbidden fruit. After a few minutes of clunking around, "Let's have a war" fired up and 32 years later, I still haven't stopped listening to punk.

    He isn't talking about conforming. He's talking about playing music that gets that type of reaction.

    I saw Lee Ving at the Sound City Players concert in NYC a couple of weeks ago , and let me tell you ... This man did not miss a fucking beat . Just incredible . It was an absolutely legendary night . Bless Dave Grohl for putting this together, and bless Sound City Players for coming out and reigniting my love for good music .

    If you just found out about Lee Ving and his band FEAR through David Grohl and now want to see FEAR at their best, watch the legendary documentary, " The Decline of Western Civilization (first one)". If that doesn't get you into L.A. punk rock at its highest point, nothing will. Rock on!

    This guy is legitimately a tough guy. He ain't pretending. He was in the Army during the Vietnam War. He didn't see action in the war but he was in the Army and served stateside. Had he gone to war I can just imagine how many VC and ARVN he would have destroyed.

    Evan Abbott the only footage I'm aware of at all is his brief appearance in Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains. Black Randy, both the man and his shows, are legendary in the early LA punk scene. But alas unlike the England and NY scenes, the LA scene ('77-'79) was not that well documented on video/film. Really wasn't until The Decline... and the hardcore scene that the cameras really popped out

    No I did what he's saying I was just rifting on when he said "an audience paying attention to the music" It's a joke that it would not help if an audience payed attention to my music! Party on before it's gone!

  • @itscrazytrevor
    @itscrazytrevor11 жыл бұрын

    Unlike Lee Ving the music I make it would not help if an audience payed attention to it! I make music for me that hardly anyone else can dig and that's just fine with me! It makes me feel like I'm not selling out to be part of the bubble gum noise pop scene!
