In continuation with the music therapy series, Shri Gurudeva discusses about the healing effects from different ragas.
There are 72 ragas in carnatic classical music. Today, He shares the benefit of raga- Hamsanandi.
Benefits-
- Cures migraine
- Clears thyroid and para-thyroid related problems
- Clears nervous/brain related issues
- Protects from the negative effects of black magic
- Listening/playing this raga on Amavasya or Poornima day gives immense benefits and relieves from black magic effects.
He demonstrates the difference between the effects of sound waves- in the form of sahitya (vocal) and in the form of swaras (instruments).
One can observe the healing effect in heart, lungs, brain when listening to the raga played in violin (instrument).
One who cannot sing song or play music, can chant the below mantra to reap the benefit of Hamsanandi raga.

Mantra- Soham hamsaH soham
When a fetus is inside the mother's womb, God advises the fetus to chant SOHAM where, the rhythm of Oxygen & Carbon Dioxide is produced. Here SO means Oxygen and HAM means Carbon dioxide. This is the bridge between Body + Soul.
Once when Shri Purandharadasaru visited Hampi, and had darshan of Belur Channkeshwara..he started to recite the different names of the lord- Keshava, Narayana, Anantha....Achyutha......Madhavaa...
This further provoked him to compose a full song in the raga Hamsanandi.
One who cannot chant vishnusahasranama, can listen or sing this raga.
Ragas produces medicines within the body and heal the body.

Sairam Guruji today is my favourite Day because it is baba's day. Since we couldn't go to temple baba came in front of me thru you. Guruji I do have So Ham in Baba's sai sathcharithrae. Today I got to know real meaning. Guruji when I listen to you it revealed how much you love your Guru and Datta and the Bhakthi is pouring through your song like Amrutha pana to my soul. Guruji today's episode is a priceless gift to the entire brahmanda. Kalidasa was not a musician but Sakshath Devi became his Guru. You have not learned from any music teacher but Sakshath Datta sai Samartha is your Guru. Thank you so much offering unconditional love and music to me and to the universe. Even corona will bow to your lotus feet and go away where they belong. Sairam.
