Music & The Spoken Word | Queen Elizabeth II - Grace and Goodness
Recently, the longest-reigning monarch in Britain’s history, Queen Elizabeth II peacefully passed into eternity. For more than 70 years, she was the only sovereign many Britons had ever known. And while the world changed dramatically over the decades, the Queen remained steadfast and strong, an emblem of “grace and goodness” to her people-and to the world.
Like a river that moves with purpose and direction, the queen was driven more by principle than popularity. Devotion to duty, service to God and country, gave her life meaning and purpose.
Before her coronation, the Queen expressed the humility and dedication that made her such a great leader for so many years. “I want to ask you all,” she said, “whatever your religion may be, to pray for me … that God may give me wisdom and strength to carry out the solemn promises I shall be making, and that I may faithfully serve Him and you, all the days of my life.” Clearly, God answered those prayers.
“Faithful” is a good word to describe Queen Elizabeth’s service. Her faith in a Heavenly King guided her life and her work. She often spoke of that faith-of the Christian ideals that inspired her. And yet Queen Elizabeth’s faith was evident not only in her words but also her actions. She endeavored to serve, not just to be served. She visited the downtrodden. She lifted those who suffered and gave hope to those in despair. She explained: “For me the teachings of Christ and my own personal accountability before God provide a framework in which I try to lead my life. I, like so many of you, have drawn great comfort in difficult times from Christ’s words and example.”

May God bless the United Kingdom from whence came so many of my ancestors.
We do appreciate here in the UK the wider world's appreciation, and kind words, for our late Queen Elizabeth II (who was also head of the Church of England) whose funeral is today. She is the only Queen I have ever known (although my elderly neighbour has lived under George V, Edward VIII (briefly), George VI, Queen Elizabeth II and now Charles III). She provided a constancy and life of service and putting herself second which I hope we can all continue to try to emulate.

Thank you for this special broadcast. I was hoping the Church would honor Queen Elizabeth. I’m English and still a citizen who has lived half my life in America. Though I love the United States, I miss that green and pleasant land.

In 1969, I traveled from the US to Europe for 6 weeks. Our first destination was England. I fell in love with your country. Yes, for me it was a green and beautiful land. Today, many years later, I still count my visit there as one of the highlights of my life.

I’m a Taiwanese Canadian LDS. I love my Queen because she faithfully honor her pledge as an defender of the faith.
I’m an American who values this truly noble soul. The Queen lived by principle and taught us to be truthful under difficult circumstances. I hope Britain can endure as a Christian nation without her staying influence.

What a beautiful tribute the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll. She was truly the Queen of the world! As an American I always loved her and admired her example of dedication, faithfulness to duty and God, her life long service and love for our dear Savior. She will always be Queen. Queen Elizabeth was an elect lady. She was religious and gracious to all who she met. I still can't believe a reign of 70 years is over. She lived an extraordinary life. May God bless her and may her descendants forever honor her legacy.

I am, as we each are, a Child of G'd. While assigned to this great and blessed land of The United States, from my earliest memories, I have had an 'aunt- like' respect and admiration for Her Majesty. She accepted her earthly crown only two months after I was born. On hearing of her passing, I felt so somber and a surprisingly deep loss and hurt. She has been a constant and stable part of my life, albeit actually only tangible thru the ether. My deepest sympathies to my cousins of the Kingdom, Commonwealth, and Community so attached to this Lady, this Daughter of the King of the Universe. All is well.

Thankyou for the beautiful tribute to late Queen Elizabeth 11 ....took me back to 1962 , when as a teenager I along with our school choir was chosen to sing for the Queen & Prince Phillips at a Sunday morning service at an old Church in Banaras ( now Varanasi ) on her 1st visit to India after her coronation ... It had been her special request to attend the Church service ....We drove in our school bus from our small town in Allahabad a 2 our drive away , .. to the Church in Varanasi & we sang some of favorite hymns & after service she shook hands with us little girls , a memory I will always cherish & honour . God bless her soul 🙏 .
