He deliberately slicked his hair down and wore less flashy clothes than usual because he knew that this performance was all about HONORING DAVID, not himself. If that doesn't show you the amount of respect that he has for Bowie, nothing will. He also knows that Bowie is responsible for most of what we consider to be alternative, in one way or another. We all owe him a huge debt.

The pianist is Mike Garson, he used to play with Bowie. This is from the Just For One Day Bowie tribute concert.

No worries dude! Mike Garson hosted the whole night. There were some really good performances from that show, Taylor Momsen from Pretty Reckless did a really beautiful cover of Quicksand. I'm sure you'd like it 🤘

On the original concert footage, it was Rick Wakeman on piano. This release for Yungblud's official YT features Mike Garson. They've used the same vocal take, and watching the concert, I think Mike's performance was recorded at the same time, but Wakeman's was in the feed on the night.

The best part of this is the band, all ex Bowie band members ! Anybody that doesn't know the original must have have been living under a rock!

I gotta be honest I was a bit skeptic at first but I liked this cover. It's not a carbon copy or trying to profit of his legacy, it seems like a legitimate, well-done tribute. And the fact that I see quite a few folks who used to play with David Bowie there means something as well. That was nicely refreshing :)

I see YUNGBLUD, I click, and I click like before I even hear your review. I also about shit myself when I was watching the Mars landing and this came on at the end, and they said it was being played on the rover as well. The first voice to be heard on Mars singing the first song that should be sung on Mars, by the only person who should be singing this song now that David is gone, based on his own song Mars.

This song is so difficult to sing well. Bowie in general is so hard to do justice because he was so iconic and influential. Dom did an incredible job. He let his vocals shine and didn’t make it about Dom, he didn’t try to sound LIKE Bowie either. You can tell Dom has such respect and love for Bowie.

The reason the pianist is so good is it is Bowie's long time pianist from his band......

God! Reacting to this video should make you do your homework before.....the piano play is Mike Garson, who played with Bowie since 1972 almost in every record and every tour, and all the other musicians have played with Bowie...for several years! How can you do a reaction not knowing this?!

I have holes in my knowledge of cats for sure, filling in those gaps is one of the reasons I love doing these reactions!

Not sure if i feel this. Yungblud can do better. This was basically karaoke with ur mates. I mean, considering the status of the band supporting him, is he scared?
