She didn't win The Voice but she was on Team Adam... She debuted her song around 2014 and soon released her first album named CryBaby... All of the songs are connected as one storyline. She released another album named K-12 last 2019 and it HAS A MOVIE, LIKE A WHOLE MOVIE, serving as the sequel of her Crybaby album. She's rumored to release her third album (second movie) soon. I recommend you should react to her more 💙

The ending of the K-12 movie was left open and kinda ambiguous, so I'm really hoping that means there will be a sequel! I absolutely adored the movie. It was beautifully shot, the costume & set design was 10/10, and so was the music. I re-watched it recently, and loved it just as much as I did when it first dropped. There are so many other things in the Crybaby universe I'd love to know more about, fingers crossed it gets explored even further!

7:15 they’re more “childish” because she’s playing a character called Crybaby. Crybaby is a child. K-12, her second album, is her time in school. So Crybaby (the 1st album) would be when Crybaby (the character) is like 4 and younger, I believe.

She has a very interesting style of music, lyrics and videos. All her proposals have been highly acclaimed and she's the complete definition of an artist. I'd love for you to react to their two albums called Cry Baby and K-12, and then to their third album, which isn't out yet but will be out later this year. 💖

Melanie started writing her own songs and posting them to KZread in 2009 but was made fun of at school for it but she still did it because it was her passion. In 2012 she went on The Voice after her family encouraged her to try out and she made it all the way to week 6 of live shows. After she was eliminated she signed with Atlantic Records and released her debut song Dollhouse followed by her ep of the same name. In 2015 she released her debut album Cry Baby. The album is about the birth of Cry Baby, the fairy tale version of Melanie, and her journey to confidence. The album wasn't a massive success at first but over the years its garnered over 3 billion Spotify streams and is certified platinum. She self wrote and directed a music video fot all 13 standard edition songs. It was also the first album of a female artist to have 16 songs certified gold or higher in the US. Her second album, K-12, continues the story of Cry Baby's life as we follow her through her experience in school and growing up. The album was accompanied by a feature film by the same name that was released in theaters and is currently available to watch for free on her KZread channel. K-12 has already surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams and is certified gold in the US. We are now awaiting her third album which will also be paired with a movie. The album is expected to be released this year

1:18 the reason for this is due to the fact that her songs line up to the story of her main person "CryBaby" which then follows up as well with k-12. Like the song "Crybaby" is her first introduction as a character with the music video is her literal birth and seeing her relationship with an ab*sive mother, troublesome brother, and cheating father (father and brother get introduced in dollhouse). I'd recommend making videos watching videos one at a time or even a few at a time so you can hear the whole story, starting with the crybaby album first obviously, then moving to k-12!

Helping a Bit (Maybe!) On 2009-2011 she did covers/originals on KZread! In 2009-2010 she released like 12-13 "KZread originals" (actual KZread originals, they've were only released in KZread and after she got engaged with her first/second boyfriend she deleted all of them, even the covers) of that old stuff (between 2009-early 2010) only 2-3 videos were actually archived then, well... However in 2011-12 she came back and started doing her first EP alongside with her boyfriend at the time (Take Me To The Moon), it would have 9 tracks and some of them were actual released/re-surfaced around the time (we're missing 4 atm, really doubt this will ever came out) but she gave up after some technical issues and etc... And joining The Voice in early/late 2013 i can't remember rn (and YES you were right she auditioned to A LOT local music contestants shows). (Some titles of the avaible songs, Birthing Addicts, Curly Cue, I Think I'm Crazy, The One, and the majority concept was about "love" and things she want to tell trough her music, somehow connected with night-time/cosmos at least a line at the music) After leaving the voice she immediately started working in a new EP (it's unknown the name so let's call it 2013 EP) recently some productions/demos got leaked but the majority of the tracks were performed during acoustic tours she did to get money and a bit popularity from it. However it was cancelled (for unknown reasons) and she started working on her new album having ideas after working with kinetics & one love in late 2013. (Titles from 2013 EP, they were mostly personal related songs/controversial topics, A Thousand Words, A Million Man, Race, Dear Porcupines) So after starting working in Cry Baby she spent the whole 2014 doing it and incredibly did more than 50 productions for the album (she also did some tours but not that important to be commented)! The album would tell the history of her Alter Ego (Cry Baby) and they'd be connected with a childish topics, the songs would be mostly connected to each other and had controversial topics on them (eg: toxic relationships, abortion, cheating, beauty standards, etc.) She finally released Cry Baby in 2015! And later Performing it for Over a Year. She later released more 3 songs as the deluxe and a special single (gingerbread man) later in 2019 she released k-12 (her second album, alongside with a movie) it did well and a year later she released After School (her 2nd EP) Now she's working in her 3rd album, probably going to be released later this year! (Also if u want a recommendation of Kpop DEFINITELY you don't love me by spica and excuse me by bestie)

each one if her songs have an important message abt societal issues and her albums are a part of a story. Crybaby, K-13, After Party Ep, etc are all connected. she is a refreshing artist to listen to 100%

She has a babydoll style if you were wondering!! And her style hides the deep meanings in her songs! Including grooming, girls being used for looks, plastic surgery, bullying, being emotional, fake friends, kidnap and r@pe, being seen as crazy for being different, eating disorder, how people treat celebrities, etc.

The first album was called Crybaby and that’s why you kept seeing her with childish items and child related, the next album you listened too was her K-12 album and it is about an evil school and Melanie Also known as crybaby in her k-12 movie that I recommend watching is about her escaping and dustoring thsi evil school with friends along the way. Watching her k-12 film would explain a lot about her style, music, and just see more about her in general! It’s basically just a movie of her album, so all of her k-12 album as a movie
