Music Legends - Drunk History
Комедия
These stories about Sam Cooke, Dolly Parton, Louis Armstrong and Johnny Cash show how rich the history of music is.
About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

@@batteriesnotincluded4715 I do not agree with that personally but I can see the appeal. You need to have a very specific mood and taste in mind for that I would figure. That or at least finely chop them to the point of it basically becoming a powered spice or something...

Totally agree- that level of human compassion and forgiveness is unfortunately hard to find these days. After learning about this back-story, I realize Dolly could serve as an example of ethical behavior, to women and men, in both business and in life. And the immense level of talent on top of all of this? A saint, indeed.

Johnny Knoxville as Johnny Cash is hilarious!

Missed opportunity to have Trixie Mattel!
Kris Kristofferson.. Geez!!! He was already a Rockstar before his family disowned him. Fkn AWESOME story Bro!
And this is how I learn history. Thank you
I never knew they did an episode with Kristoferson but for real he's one of my favorite super interesting celebrities.

Porter produced it first. Dolly took it to number 1 4x's. She didn't let Elvis record it because he wanted rights to it and she wasn't giving up her rights to it. Dolly still makes money ever time it's played. Weither it's her singing or Whitney Houston singing. She's made more than $20 million on just this song
Brian's eyes lookin a little red to me, I don't think he's just "drunk"
“YESSS aye you, a change gone come. You, a change gone come. You, a change gone come. Sam Cooke.” -Sam Cooke
The Beatles actually wanted Sam to tour with them.

I lived in the same neighborhood as Porter n Dolly (iykyk) in Nashville back in the late 60's/early 70's. You'd see them at the grocery store as well as other celebs. Nashville used to be cool.
Kris was on the series ' Madalorien' just afew years ago and he was great!

It’s great with some BBQ! Get you some collard greens or beans with it too. Make sure it’s yellow. No joke.
Sam Cooke covered "I Love You For Sentimental Reasons", but so did a lot of people, but he didn't write it. Nat King Cole probably had the most famous version. Just a minor uh...correction, sorry.
:)...Nice, Bubbles from the "Wire" playing King Joe Oliver...As a musician, and child of the 60's, and loving Sam Cooke and admiring the others, this was a great DH!
Awesome Work ✌️
This is so good istg
Thank you. I love history.
Casey Wilson as Dolly Parton. The rest is implied.
I'm wishing Lord that I was stoned ... Maybe the best come-down lyrics before they invented ecstacy :P
I loved this show
I heard a totally different story about "Jolene" from Dolly in a documentary. It was about a woman bank teller that dealt with her husband one time, and she came up with the idea. Nothing happened in real life - just the idea for the lyrics.
Minor detail, but that's Johnny Knoxville, not Cash...🤣
😂😂😂 I love this
Yoooooo... trippy part is how much the actress who plays the woman who robbed Sam Cooke the day he died looks like the ACTUAL WOMAN.
Bland potato salad is as offensive as racism 😩😂
I love this lol
I went to the movies once and I was the only one there except for a guy eating a giant container of potato salad
Was that Amber in the beginning? I Love her!
Drunk History I’m still waiting in Loni Love to make an appearance! Hellooooo....
Amber Ruffin as Barbara Cooke! Awesome!
Wait, Bubbles AND Randy Wagstaff? I stan. 🙌🏾

Bruh. Half of this series is just that dude learning black history while smashed.
PORTER WAGNER LOOKS LIKE BENNY HILL! 😂😂😂😂
Dolly is... that woman is just a treasure!
Almost didn't even notice Cash was played by Knoxville...
Actually he wasn't going to perform that song until the night Muhammad Ali became World Champ and him Malcolm X Muhammad Ali and Jim Brown had a gentleman's night and Sam Cooke and Malcolm X got into it a little bit about what needs to be done which fortified Sam Cooke putting out that song the classic a change going to come
Funny the guy song the whitney houston version of always love you.
😂why do it seem like all the inspirations come from jail? The Montgomery letter, Malcolm x, what else? Did Johnny Cash get inspired by jail too or did he inspire the inmates in jail?
Anybody else craving potato salad now?

Hey girl, can I listen real quick, to the band that’s on the other side of this wall?
There's a great song by a short, fat, bald, white man who sings under the name Har Mar Superstar, and it's called "Lady, You Shot Me."
Was that a chicken walking around in the background??
RIP sam cooke.

Dolly watching this like ☺️
They need to make new episodes but with cannabis instead of alcohol.
Loved Kris Kristofferson's 1960s milspec beard and hair!
Amber Ruffin as Sam Cooke's wife. You go gurl.
Cheers to US! Change is going to Come! :)
Is that Johnny Knoxville as Johnny Cash?? 👀
Is this really Johnny Knoxville playing as Johnny Cash?
Yes
I always thought "I Love You for Senimemtal Reasons" was a Nat King Cole song. That's a lie. I thought it was a Dean Martin song until a few minute ago. But I just looked it up and it's NKC. Unless the internet lied.
Tater salad ❤❤❤
We don't deserve Dolly!!!
I do like Potato salad
Except I love you for sentimental reasons was Nat King Cole, not Sam Cooke!
