It definitely could have been both, every time that you don't sleep your heart has to work harder, which is actually a concern with people with mental illnesses when they do not get enough sleep that they will have cardiac issues. Combined with the fear he was experiencing and also the change in routine for him, he probably wasn't listening to his relaxing Egyptian music, could be enough to send them into heart failure, and his behaviors or his sudden change in behaviors which could have resulted from someone putting a curse on him.

If you believe you are cursed, you certainly can mould your own energy to curse yourself. Faith is a strong magic. In every religion,,,,faith and spoken word have always been an invisible force. Churches try to get you to believe their version of God is responsible. But anyone in any religion can make their words come true if they believe them. That's why every religion encourages prayer/mantras/spellcasting along with faith. And why we all touch wood when we say something we don't want to come true...to ground the energy before the spell is cast into the world.

If she was in love with him,,, a love spell would have been easier. That's how I know she wasn't a witch. Or she did not curse him. That's not how we work. We don't need revenge. We can get what we want with faith and prayer. If we want it bad enough. I think love spells are grapey But if she was willing to go this far, I don't see why she didn't use a love spell. If she wasn't strong enough to make that work, she wasn't strong enough for those much heavier spells.

I had my back turned listening to your story, and when you said “I am a witch” etc, in that voice I jumped.😂 Legitimately had to collect myself. So thank you for that Mr.Ballen 👏🏽

It's highly frowned upon for a guy to need someone else to keep him safe or especially make him *feel* safe. Sucks, and I largely disagree with it, but that's the world we live in. Gender norms often keep guys from asking for help, with devastating results sometimes. ...not that it probably would've done any good in this case lol

I have an uncle who’s ex wife did some stuff to him after they separated. Specifically her sitting on his chest while dressed all raggedy chocking him at night during sleep paralysis episodes. One time my grandma was visiting & slept on the room he would typically sleep in & she definitely had almost the same experience except my grandma, old school catholic, I guess cast her away with the power of prayer so that woman quickly & creeply climbed out the window & she looked back at my grandmother, who saw her face, totally distorted but she knew it was her. I’m not sure if grandma was fully awake or was also experiencing sleep paralysis but they fact that they both described her the same way… totally weird. I never liked that lady. In Mexico people truly believe in witch craft & witches. I grew up on stories about them. Especially in those little pueblos. Creepy stuff!!

Yep it’s real common in super rural areas little villages up in the mountains and stuff I’ve been around it before got a “limpieza aka a cleaning or purification ” couple of Times when I was really sick I was told Both times that the real cause of my sickness was that there was a person or persons that were jealous of me or just directing a lot of energy at me which made me sick so everyone kept telling my parents to get me a cleaning aka purified, we knew it was actually that I had drank water out of an old out of commission water well, my parents still took me to get cleanings though they were scared I was going to die because I was damn close they even took me to a cave that has a virgin de Guadalupe statue deep inside where she was said by people to have appeared a long time before that, they took me to pray there and everything it was pretty kool but yes people are very into that stuff there and superstitions it was def an interesting experience to say the least.

I am morbidly depressed. I work all day and when I get home I just want to dissociate and collapse. And my job isn't even hard. But listening to Mr Ballen stories gets me through

Being interested into history, ancient Egypt, and whatnot can still call into certain sciences bearing that in mind with the information that his friends were saying he was definitely a skeptic of paranormal events or activities for sure played a big part and people not staying with him or anything I believe. I mean his friend Sammy said that he was a deal with his type of guy and she was across the country. I do think she should have called the police back before the next day though

@@BILLY-px3hw If you really believe in curses and you're bold enough to cast one, then you'd be aware that love spells and death spells etc as a singular aim are not possible. You can however curse people with infatuation and misfortune, it's not an exact science (obviously) and I personally don't have extensive knowledge but one thing I do know is all magic comes with a price. Wether it be good or bad, the universe or God or whatever you want to call it demands balance and there will be consequences for your actions. That being said, the type of people who use curses usually do so with malicious intent and it's a lot easier for them to lash out in anger rather than plan in lust.

I FULLY 100% believe in curses. My step-grandma was a Voodoo witch. My step-dad wasn't supposed to drink but everytime he left for the liquor store she would call IMMEDIATELY after he left and say she sees him going to the liquor (she didn't live in same town as us and this was in the 80's so only landlines) she would tell my mom she sees him walking in the store to buy rum and she would tell my mom exactly what he was wearing. She did and said so many things growing up that I am a FIRM believer in all that shit!

The truth is there has absolutely never been any scientific evidence for anything supernatural. From curses to demons. From angels to witchcraft. Also there has in fact been significant research on the subject. Evidence has been found. Ignoring it does not make it go away. Arbitrarily deciding what is "nonsense" without bothering to do research is amusing in ways similar to flat earth theory or creationism.

The worst part about all of this is that after Chris tells all his friends about what was happening to him they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Like he calls them, tells them whats going on and they .. go to bed to check on him tomorrow. If a friend of mine says that he or she was attacked in his or her bed at night by a shadow figure Im going over their house to camp in their bedroom and make sure they are ok. Also this supposed witch was a friend of a friend so why did neither Chris or anybody else try to contact this woman after the stuff started happening to Chris? I feel sorry for him. Not one single friend or family did anything to help him.

Well your the one percent then, i knew of a guy who told his friends about the bullying that followed him into his late teens that grew into them beating him badly and sometimes scratching him with a Stanley knife, he would frequently tell them and ask for help and frequently be told to keep his chin up and handle it, he was eventually stabbed and bled out, most friends are friends and would do anything untill they are asked for help, you should ask yourself would you REALLY walk into real danger for someone that isn't you? When most people won't even walk into it for themselves given half a chance.

I once had really weird stuff happening in my apt after a neighbor brought me a "souvenir" from Indonesia. It was a wooden gargoyle or something. I told my boss who I knew was a Christian. She brought her pastor to my apt. that night and we prayed over it, casting out bad spirits in Jesus' name. I also threw out the gargoyle figure. Everything stopped. I have experienced other stuff that was resolved by Jesus - not just the salvation of my soul. I know the spiritual battles are real. Get right with God. You never know what tomorrow will bring. Today is the day of salvation!

I had close to the same experience. I lived by myself in my apartment and for 1 month straight every night I go to sleep I would wake up between 2-3 o’clock in the morning. By body is paralyzed and I’ll start feeling a vibration on my side and once that happens a decaying body would appear and grab me tight and get it’s face so close to mine and laugh. One time I woke up cause I felt a rip on my upper left back it was so painful that I went to the hospital and my back muscle was torn. I’ve told my coworkers about what’s been happening to me and I got a roommate. And every stopped once someone else was sleeping in my apartment.

I remember a person in the town north of where I live was a voodoo practitioner. It was terrifying being around this person. She would look at you and this creepy smile would spread over her face and I would run away yelling for my dad that the devil was here!!!

True story. I live in Nairobi, Kenya. I once saw this shadow outside my window that terrified me so horribly. I was laying on my bed facing my huge bedroom window. It was around 7:30 p.m. I hadn't drawn my curtains yet. It started off as a weird looking shadow on this adjacent wall next to my apartment. I thought at first it was just a bird's shadow. Then all of a sudden, it started growing bigger and bigger, like this huge shadowy giant figure with a hoody on and I couldn't see its face. It started roaming back and forth outside my balcony. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was still early and I knew I was awake, not dreaming. It then came and stood directly outside my window like it wanted to come inside my bedroom. It terrified me so much, I just remember covering myself, my head, hiding myself under my blanket and I started praying to GOD, to JESUS, to the HOLY SPIRIT to chase that shadow away. When I finished praying, that shadow had gone. That was like 3 months ago and it has never come back, thank GOD. Being a born again Christian helps immensely guys. These demons and evil spirits are real. Accept Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior today and He will help you when you're under spiritual attacks. GOD bless you all.

Yes!! I was thinking the same thing. I'm a skeptic when it comes to the paranormal so I would have assumed my friend was having a psychotic break or something. I would have immediately come over or offered to let them stay with me. If I started witnessing the paranormal stuff, we'd go get a priest or something and if I couldn't see whatever my friend claimed to see, I would try to get them to a psychiatrist.

Try getting a carbon monoxide detector. Mild carbon monoxide poisoning can make you hear and see things that aren't there. If it isn't carbon monoxide, it could possibly be mold, if you're in an old building. If it's not one of those two things, you should go see a psychiatrist or a psychologist. There's no shame in it. Look up your local "community mental health" if you're low income or "Catholic Social Services" (for those with low income as well) where you can get very low-cost religious or non-religious psychiatric care. If you don't like the first psychologist they give you, ask to see a different one. Some Catholic Social Services psychologists are great, others are crappy. Don't base your opinion of them on whether or not they agree with you, as one of the jobs of a psychologist is to challenge one's maladaptive thinking processes. Judge them on whether or not they challenge your thoughts and/or behaviors in a respectful way. Best of luck to you.

I used to go look for ghost and go to all these haunted places...I didn't think much of it until I had this kind of stuff happening...I finally had enough and told my father what was going on and he prayed with me and after that it all just stopped and I never chased that kind of stuff again

Sleep deprivation causes you to see shadows out the corner of your eyes and hear whispering, I've experienced it before when I've been in the bush at night, all I could hear was whispering in the dark but I knew it was hallucinations so it didn't bother me. Sleep paralysis also often results in seeing things in your room, I've had sleep paralysis, but my entire body including my eyes are paralysed so lucky that means they are closed.

During my Psych program at Uni they would teach us about events like this and how a person can essentially "predict" their death by believing they will die on a certain day and then panicking themselves to death on that day. -super simplified explanation but it has a lot more involving the sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous systems.

It's a combination of sleep paralysis and the fact that he had no knowledge of that to ground his reality. The crazy woman intensified his fear levels and confirmed his belief that it was coming from her. His lines of reality and fantasy became more blurred. In his mind what was happening to him was real. With no family or friends to provide the knowledge of sleep paralysis to him to ground his reality, It ultimately resulted in the death of Chris. The only reason I know of this is because I experience sleep paralysis often. And if I didn't have family in my life that went through sleep paralysis before, to inform me of what was actually happening to me. I probably would be dead too from the fear I went through. So many days I was petrified to my very core. Sleep paralysis is one of the scariest things a human can go through mentally.

I wanted to Thank You again for posting this video. I believe I left a comment before but came back to find this as I wanted to share with my daughter & her guy. So, It was somewhere around 1990 & 1991. Chris worked at Muzak in Seattle (in the Freemont area). I worked at Corporate Travel Services the travel agency where Muzak purchased their travel packages for corporate meetings & (come to think of it) I probably dropped off his airline ticket for this function. Anyway, they had another out of town meeting where I brought Chris & other employees their plane tickets & was told of Chris passing in a "mysterious way". At that point they didn't know much & we're still digesting the news of his death. This was before my daughter was born in 1992 (at that point I was a stay at home mom). Anyway! Great job covering this story. Yes, we did in fact have cell phones but they were "BRICKS"! CHEERS & Thanks again!

These friends and family should have been on his doorstep when they heard how terrified he was. I don’t care how far away they were. You show up for the people you love.

At one time, people needed moral guidance to encourage cooperation. Now, its not needed in the same way. We've evolved or should have evolved past believing in a magical old man in the sky. Just as we've moved past leeches and bleeding people at doctor's appointments.

I’ve been in the paranormal field for over 50 years. Shadow beings are definitely capable of harming the living. It was many years until I believed in curses, but these are real as well. There are protections, and cures for curses. This woman putting a curse upon him for such a frivolous reason is bewildering. I can’t help but speculate as to how many others have been harmed by her actions.

First, I love your story telling!!! I grew up listening to radio stories in my country and missed them so bad. Also, my Dad was a great story teller, a lot like you if I may say so. The following is what I have learned thru years of pain and hurt. I am not here to change nobodies mind nor to convince anyone. This is what I believe. All those crucifixes he bought to protect himself and hung up on the walls if they were not blessed they would do MORE HARM than good to him. All sacramentelles have to be blessed to signify what they are (examples: blessed water, rosaries, crucifix, religious stamps, candles to pray) and "protect" us if you will (I am a firm believer, life made sure to teach me). If they had not been blessed then they attract demons who will hide in them to confuse us and hurt us. And, if they were plain crosses with no Christ figure on them, then they meant nothing. They were only decor. The absence of Christ on the cross is like negating that he became man and sacrificed himself for us to be saved. I truly feel very sorry for what he had to endure.

maybe it was his own fault. i had a similar situation and i kid you not....i didnt believe what was happening and i didnt want anyone to think i was crazy so i dealt with it alone for years. also it seemed to only happen when i was alone. i couldnt always be surrounded by people so i figured whatever it was....only i could do something about it.

@@arielperez797 I mean he was clearly calling multiple friends every day telling them crazy sht like the only 2 possibilities were that actual ghosts were attacking him.. or he was mentally losing it. Either way, someone should've been there for him. If one of my friends told me these things were happening to them, I would immediately offer them my couch. Or to stay with them, and then maybe they wouldn't be so scared of their own place anymore. Or I could at least figure out what is going on and how bad is it.

That audio bit of the witch made me almost drop a log in my pants. I work outside in a smaller town gas station and it’s pitch black out so not expecting that to blast out of my headphones scared the hell out of me haha. Doesn’t help that I just drank coffee so that first part could have become very real XD

@Bridgette Celio well it can. There are certain condition where the person hurts himself in his with him thinking it was an entity. I saw a documentary once when a man was strangling himself in his sleep while he dreamt of being sleep paralyzed and some entity strangling him.

My advice to him would've been something like "tell the shadows you see that you love them as often as possible and try your best not to fear because that gives them an "in" to do what they will." My ex claims to be a witch from Scotland in one of her "personas" or what have you and indeed told me she hexed me. So out of curiosity I was feeling a presence one night and I started recording and sure enough there was a voice of some sorta demon in the recording after I asked "who are you, what do you want?" So in the same recording I told it that I "loved it" then continued to say these things to it for a week. Now it feels like my house is free of repressive dark energy or in other words I'm able to feel joy and comfort at home. I like to believe it's gone because I genuinely showed it love and didn't fear so much, so it decided to leave. Nice story @mr.Ballen, great job as always!

what I usually do is say that they are not welcome in my house. and I basically sage the house (leave a window or door open for ''them'' to leave) and say that I banish them from my house and that they are not welcome and would kindly leave. To say you love it to me is welcoming the dark energy and giving it a place to stay. I personally wouldn't like it, as long as the energy feels good and no harm will come I do not mind a presence or two, but if it scares me I wouldn't want it near me

@@chanelnadiaaa that’s another way true. However from my personal experience dealing with dark entities, they cannot stand high vibrations in the household because they are low vibrational entities. Saying something like “love” things that are of higher vibes will repel them from wanting to be around you. Negative attracts negative and positive attracts positive. They are not able to survive too long or have a presence around continued positive energy and they hate that more than anything and just like that I banished 1 that I know of that was moving chairs in the house. 🙏

Yep, all fun and games till they don't get what they want.

I wrote a paper on Schizophrenia in college and its is an incredibly common mental disorder and many people go deep into adulthood (although symptoms most commonly appear late teens and early twenties) without any of the "typical" symptoms until....a trigger. Often excessive paranoia of some kind, stress, or even head trauma, tumor, etc. It kind of like how someone who gets PTSD from a traumatic event, that trigger causes a hyper activation of the amygdala and a shrinkage of the hippocampus. Too be clear, an individual can have this disorder without knowing it after the time frame that symptoms typically appear, however it should be stated if someone doesnt see symptoms in that time frame its exceedingly rare like 2% chance of them showing up later. It can happen, and also the person may not know they have experienced symptoms earlier. Later some kind of trigger can cause them to spiral into a state of psychosis which to them feels just like if there was a real danger or threat, THERE the problem lies; they cant for whatever reason, in their state of psychotic state make the distinction between their personal experience and what is real, to them its real, but its not. That is why nothing has ever been recorded of "shadowy figure" attacking someone and has been verified as a real video by experts...ever. It seems they cant step back and see it for what it is, like a normal person who over-reacts to the threat of something, which is in a way unwarranted paranoia which is a form of delusion...because its not warranted. They lack a solid grasp on what is true. The worst thing they could do is go and blur the line between their delusions and reality by buying physical products and whatnot and obsessing over it. The best thing is get medication asap to keep wiring and mental state intact. Fun Fact: the most common early sign is hearing whispering noises in the prefery of your hearing, just distant and quite enough that you cant make it out. Auditory is the most common to begin with, and btw this is very different than a hypnagogic hallucination which is normal even for people without such disorder. That is the first sign and if treated via medication in that stage it can prevent the disease from deteriorating all together.

No absolutely wrong has nothing to do with your long theory. Those who have never experienced things like this will always deem it mental health until it happens to them. These things are very much real. I’ve been a witness to these events on a few occasions from a small tender age to a grown woman. You have to see,hear,feel to believe it.. Some real spiritual things out here.

Although didn't Mr. Ballen say the guy ran to a hotel near by. So the first welfare check the cops said the door was locked. Then that means the door was open because he came back and then lit up the candles. Still trying to ward off the demons. But the Aztec music was a bit of a coincidence. The girl, (the witch), was a psycho. And why she wanted him to go back to her place so desperately? And how did the blood appear under his fingernails? Yeah a campfire would be cool.

I played this last night to help me sleep. Man did I have the WEIRDEST dream. It was like I was in this man’s body, and MrBallen was narrating LMAO. After I was in a deep sleep and I couldn’t hear MrBallen anymore the dream just continued on. I’m rewatching the video now to see if my dream had the same storyline as the rest of the video.

The edited witch voice reminded me of an old Mexican radio show called La Mano Peluda (The Hairy Hand) where callers would call to share their scary stories and once in awhile you would hear people possessed in a similar tone of voice so my heart skipped a beat 😅 having me turn around quickly to locate the source

I would have called the friend that invited the older lady to the dinner and seen if he could get her to stop it.

This story needs to be made into a movie, even if it’s a short movie. It’s a great scary tale and poor Chris needs to be remembered!

At that moment a hard rock song start, the camera pan on the interior of a dirty Cuda convertible. A demon head on the shift knob, camera move to the keys and let you see the voodoo bones attached to them. Then the camera move to show you the driver. A very raw and muscular man, long hair and long beard. He sport a pair of all black Ray-Ban and a long black Australian oilskin coat. He is driving while smoking a big cigar in his mouth, and in one of his hand a nearly emptied bottle of Jim beam. He drink the last bourbon in one shot and throw the bottle on the roadside. Camera follow the flying bottle for a moment and then move to follow the tail of the black Cuda. The plaque instead of numbers have the word MUTAFUKA and there is a sticker that says "got demons"? Over the enormous exhaust. Sound of a super pumped v8 acceleration, big bang and flames from the exhaust, Cuda sprints away. Scene over
