But once we're outside of Rudeus' POV, every downside people hate about MT is just gone, unless the character worse than Ruseus or equal to. There's even a prequel series and the author is SERIOUS. To add additional context, the author also says he wants to explore sex from degeneracy to something you treat as sacred-which manifests as part of Rudeus' arc.

The anime actually skipped alot of the school arch as it takes place over 2-3years. But its verry important cause all the characters he befriended actually stick with him (especially cliff and zanoba those homies are brothers for life) . and each one has their objectives that they strive towards (like the princess trying to be the next queen). Thats why its was important to take time and flesh out the characters for the future of the story.

Rudeus wasn't a criminal in his past life unless you think that shutting yourself in is a crime. He was supposed to be a pathetic person with a very bad state of mind that made him view people like they're not people. He didn't actually do anything to harm anyone outside of his family and friends circle and tbh he was too weak to actually do that(he couldn't even get out of his room) But it doesn't excuse the things that he did to the other characters in this world tho(mostly Eris)

Honestly bro, mangod and I think Rudy never addressed him by his previous name, not once. I found it odd to the same level with the turning point episodes. I believe this is the writer seeing who the "real ones" are and not. (Since fat past life Rudy has no name, I'm just gonna call him Nasty). I think the reliving life part is also a process of Rudy trying to move away from Nasty. Cuz we see Rudy either helping others or himself from the same misfortune that made Nasty in the first place (Norn becoming a shut-in is the most obvious).

I feel like you bash on rudeus too much he wasn't a criminal or a felon. Clarifying I have not read anything but i heard one questionable thing about his past life but also heard that wasn't canon. All he was a selfish bum, who degenerated from being in a room for like half his life. He treated women poorly when he was a child but he's grown to actually care for people and himself. He can form genuine friendships with people which is all shown in the school arc.

I do agree with you when you said that rudeus doesn't deserve anything good. Especially with the pedo tendencies he had in his past life. It makes it hard to feel bad for him when anything bad happens to him. And in regards to a next series you should review, I really think you should do windbreaker. It's been fantastic so far.
