Shawn C. Because he told the crowd to go watch Coldplay. That's a deal breaker for some. I mean I'm straight and I'd still do him (in an attempt to steal his song writing and guitar and piano skills from him through sex), but let's just say I wouldn't let him pick the music to which we have sex. I just don't want Coldplay creeping around in there and making me think of Gwyneth Paltrow. That's a boner killer right there.

Emili Õun Hih thanks, I hope it gets a chuckle or two. Coldplay are probably decent guys and maybe Gwyneth too. It's just that she's out of touch with reality. Happens to celebrities from time to time. Like how Alicia Silverstone bird-feeds her child. It makes Antonio Banderas' obsession with designing capes (to wear) not strange at all by comparison.

Emili Õun True, back in those days I've heard some acquaintances saying they liked A Rush... A girl I knew even called me during a concert so I could hear some of the music. I don't know if the band suffered from being linked with Gwyneth. I mean it shouldn't, Kurt Cobain was married to Courtney Love but nobody thought worse of Nirvana because of that. Or it could be because the music got pretentious and bland? Like Tom DeLonge's (from Blink-182) band Angels & Airwaves. Well you don't need to betray Muse since they're just getting better and better with every album and performance :)

Emili Õun So he's not with her anymore? I was just listening to "2nd Law" today and I think some of the disappointment comes from the lack of "hit songs", catchy tunes to play on the radio and released as singles. From "The Resistance" they've been making concept albums. I don't know how old you are or for how long you've been following Muse (for me they're in the Holy Modern Pop-Rock Trinity with Placebo and Radiohead), but both "The Resistance" and "2nd Law" were elaborating on themes Muse have touched on "Absolution" (their most "hit songs" album) and "Black Holes & Revelations". The last electronic heavy tracks on "2nd Law" were about where all things collapse into a singularity devoid of humanity. Of course that sort of implies that you can only appreciate the album if you know of their previous albums, but even standing by itself it is an impressive work with its own narrative and flow. So now I'm waiting for them to tour and hopefully see them in Sweden near me or Copenhagen :)

Emili Õun Ah, your age may explain it. As you'll get older your music taste will get refined and you'll start to appreciate things you never thought you would. It comes with experience and age. In ten years you'll find something new and deep in an album you only liked now because the tunes were catchy. That's how Weezer's album "Pinkerton" (1996) was panned by critics and disliked by fans but now it's considered one of their finest. It's interesting you're mentioning bipolar, because I thought describing Muse's music as mano-depressive/bipolar in that the music may be manic but the lyrics are depressive (or not very optimistic, rather passive in their resolution). I just turned 30 and I discovered first Muse when they released "Plug In Baby" (my favourite track) and remembering streaming the video from their website on repeat a lot. Aaah those were the days :)

He mixed up his words..he was about to say something like "oh this song is off our album showbiz' but then he had another thought of wanting to mention coldplay and yeah he mixed it up.

this song is vocally demanding. I cannot imagine if one day matt couldn't sing it or would stop singing entirely. or he probably has to modify to his current vocal ability. it's sad to see with age that his vocal strength decline

@webros16 yeah i know its actually really easy. ive been playing guitar for a year and a half and could do that after like...2 months. im just saying its a change of pace. if you think about it. matt has played guitar for like...15 years? i think? so i feel like if he wanted to he could so some like...idk more impressive solos? talent wise? like if he could combine speed with his unique songs and solos he would end the world
