Considering how young they are and how inexperienced (at bigger gigs like this), Matt is a natural frontman. They amaze me at how good they all are at playing.

Alternate lyrics: Don't close your eyes, baby, you're gonna break my big surprise. Don't you know that I'm changing and cleansing everything to forget your love. God is in me. Ending: Please...don't break us, please don't change...my love! And I've been in trouble...but you've gone! Oohhh! And I've seen your loving, mine is gone! And I've seen your loving, mine's gone!

I think it also has to do with the type of stagea they perform on nowadays, the big stadiums with a huge crowd in the distance and mega lights shows don't seem to invite the same directness as gigs in places like these. I can imagine that creates for a more impersonal relationship with the crowd and that shows in the individual performance. It's all much more orchestrated.

second video where the bass doesn't catch Matt in the beginning. it does seem like Matt is playing too fast but none the less, I fuckin love this band and song. now a days, there's a click in the ear piece so I love seeing musicians navigated these huge shows without a click
