Seen a bunch of videos of anatomy but your explanation is clearer because of the emphasis on the mechanism of the teeth .

I am discovering a bit of anatomy book inconsistency. In your opinion is the lateral pterigoids responsible for opening the jaw, or only protruding? In Moore it claims it depresses the jaw, but reading Lachmans and Netters the diagasterics and Mylohyoids are responsible for opening!
