This is why I hate when kids say tennis "isn't a real sport" or "tennis is a girls only sport." Hell nah. It's one of the only sports where either ONLY YOU, or YOU AND A PARTNER, have to play continuously with usually no backups and no substitutes. It's actually ranked as one of the hardest sports on most sport analyst charts. Unfortunately many people (especially Americans) have the mindset that only sports involving shoving, tackling, and pushing are real "manly and hard" sports.

omgitsjoker i agree... contact sports are exposed to injuries more often. i personally think American football is lowest quality sports there is.

nyjash93 Depends on what level of tennis you play. If you play state+ level like me, the training and games are much more intensive compared to JV or V basketball games.

Those who think tennis is soft(girly) sports, once they start playing tennis they show full respect. Dont judge anything until u actually do it.

His BH slice seems to give a slot of players trouble. He has solid talent but always lacked motivation to give it his all day in and out.

You have got to be kidding me. He is weak from both sides, especially the FH. I this was just a bad practice day.

Yea I agree with Jarek that his forehand is very weak here. If you watch some of his recent games, you can tell he spent a lot of time cleaning up the technique. He was ranked like 80 or something around the time this was filmed. To me, it's pretty surprising to be able to get that far with this forehand in the modern days. Perhaps he was having a bad day here.

Evans can hit big top-spin backhands in practice only; in a real match I only see him hit slices on the backhand side.

His slice is more consistent and gives much more trouble to him opponents. I think he knows he is safer and better with his slice so he uses it much more.

Yeah you are so right because I didn't even know that he had a 1hbh until I saw this video. Eventually his opponents are going to really punish this lack of development on his bh side.

@@yakzivz1104good enough for a decent career though; Johnson and Berretini do much the same but of course have bigger serves which is Evans’ real handicap due to his height.

I understand why most kids and specially American kids think team sports are harder and better! In an individual sport only you make decisions and your performance is upto you, you cannot blame others or the team. I realise this is a strange concept for most young kids these day! I don't expect cannon fodder lemmings to understand this! they need to be told what to do and when they fail blame someone else, not really possible in individual sports, but the question is WHO CARES! I enjoy tennis and I am glad people of that ilk do not appreciate or understand!
