Shell Restoration with Muriatic Acid!
Embark on a captivating journey into the world of shell cleaning as we unveil the secret to our extraordinary results here at Ocean Soul. Our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of our shores includes rejuvenating the exquisite shells that grace them. Today, we're thrilled to share the remarkable process of using Muriatic Acid to bring out their true brilliance!
Step 1: Begin by selecting a collection of shells that are calcified or dull when they aren't wet.
Step 2: Dilute Muriatic Acid with water following the manufacturer's instructions. Prioritize safety with gloves and proper ventilation.
Step 3: Submerge the shells gently into the Muriatic Acid solution, allowing them to soak for 3-5 seconds. This step dissolves unwanted substances that may have accumulated on the shells.
Step 4: Carefully retrieve the shells from the solution and rinse them thoroughly with fresh water. Witness the immediate transformation as vibrant colors and intricate patterns emerge!
Step 5: After rinsing, allow the shells to air dry in a clean, dry area. Once completely dry, they'll take center stage in your collection, radiating the natural beauty of the ocean.
Muriatic Acid works its magic by gently cleansing the shells, restoring their original allure while preserving their delicate structures.

5:10 Just an observation. Given the surface area of the spatula/strainer, it seems that much of the acid transferred into the rinsing water could come from the spatula. You don't have to dip the "acid bath" spatula into the rinse water. Just drop in the shell from a few mm above the water. You could use a second spatula to take the shells out of the rinse water.

Muriatic acid is easily and completely neutralized with household baking soda. Add the powder gradually while mixing gently. When the bubbling stops all of the acid is completely neutralized. Can then pour down the sink with faucet running.
