Nice pieces I have a few similar to yours and have my eye on a couple I want to add to my collection. I new to this although my parents had a huge collection of art glass it didn't wow me until later in life.

Pretty much every collection I have is thrift store, garage sale, etc. finds. I do own one piece of Murano where it took a little more of an investment, and I'll be showing it in part 2 at some point.

I am now over 70 years of age. I have collected all types of Italian and Scandinavian class throughout my lifetime. I enjoy seeing how happy your collection makes you. Just remember, it's never too early to start thinking about what will become of your collection in the future. It has me totally stumped.😢

Thank you. It is a lot of fun. I have collections of all types and they can be overwhelming. There are many outlets for selling it all off when the time comes, and hopefully it won't be anytime soon.

Hey buddy awesome video some of the ashtrays you showed in the beginning are also called svuota tasche wich means empty pockets it was meant for you to put your coins wallet and what not ,Also buy a black light and see if those green pieces you have are also uranium glass, I'm Italian, right now I'm in Milan. But I live in Texas and my parents in italy have a few murano pieces from the 50s and they glow bright under UV light.

Bullicante and indeed any tatterned bubbles are created by roling glass over a set of spikes or into a mould full of spikes. When the glass is then reheated the tiny trapped air bubbles expand. So they are trapped air bubbles. 9:54 item is the one I refer to.

The green bowl at 6:55 or so looks to be made with Gold coloured Mica gather than gold. Compare the result for the gold in the following item - it is gold leaf in it. . 🙂🙃

THE BLUE ASHTRAY YOU SHOW AT ABOUT 4:14 IS ACTUALLY CZECH i AM SURE. THE GROOVES ON THE SIDE ARE STRAIGHT WHICH MURANO WERE NOT. ALSO THEY RARELY USED REALLY LIGHT COLOURS LIKE THAT. I HAVE IDENTICAL IN EAU-DU-NIL COLOUR.

Might be Lightolier, being that I picked up a Lightolier ceiling mount light fixture and found a binder catalog from Lightolier at the estate, but I don't know. (Wasn't in the catalog) BTW, Lucite is a brand of acrylic, so without knowing the manufacturer there is no way to tell if actually made by Lucite. I put a video out about acrylic, Lucite, and proprietary eponym, if you want to go check it out. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Za2a3LyxkcuqnMo.html

The coppery looking stuff at 8:12 is called avventurine glass and was invent by accident in Murano. However it is heavily used in Modern Chinese wares so beware,

The first 6-8 transparent glass objects could be produced in the former Czechoslovakia too - and some of the later ones too. It's really hard to tell, Czechoslovakia was really strong in mid-century modern glass art and the masters often studied in Italy. (Theit artwork is also quite pricey - especially if your able to identify the designer.) They also used to polish clean the bottom. Chinese copies have sometimes rough bottoms, but it's not always the case.

  • @agomodern

Very interesting. If they are from former Czechoslovakia, then 99% of the people misrepresent them.

@@agomodern that's true. Often they're sold as Murano pieces, because those are more desirable for the collectors.😢

@@Mentanyul (Right off the bat, the first few are Murano and I found documentation since I made this video.) Without proof they are from the Czech, I'm sticking with them being from Murano. Since I made this video I have come across more documentation and might make another updated video as well as respond to the comments. Like I said in the video, if I got some of the information wrong, I will gladly look at documented proof, but no one, as of yet, provided any.
