He will be the greatest bowler in cricket for a long time. He was excellent with the ball and intelligent too. He took SL cricket to a higher level. Too bad he has retired but he was a class act and humble even as he took those wickets. No excessive celebrations and played like a gentleman.

He's complete legend in terms of spinners. I like his style of bowling. We can't find such great cricketer now.

He was good no doubt . but that bowling action is always illegal no matter who you ask. It'll always be considered illegal. 90% of the power is generated from his elbow jerk & rest from his wrist. and he always said he has a good shoulder movement. i still believe he was a great spinner , but action is highly doubtful

@@BhaskarAuddy1995 lol no. I've been watching cricket and analysing him since 90s when you were not even alive. Yes his elbow is abnormal , yes he has an outside bend in his elbows. But ICC had to come up with the 15% rule just because of this guy. He's not a pure bad chucker, but unluckily he somehow creates a lot of jerk from his elbow. lol, i don't know why people don't accept this but whenever you see him bowl, 10 out of 10 times it's clearly visible that he generates most of his power from the elbows. No doubt he's a legend. no doubt he's an exceptional player and the highest wicket taker. but you can't deny that his action was / is and will always be kind of illegal in some of the other ways.

Well as far as I remember, in 1995 he turned the ball viciously on greenish New Zealand wickets, which gave Sri Lanka their first ever overseas test series victory, that paved their way to win the 1996 wc. And it was on that tour the world saw, that what this 23 year old boy can do.

I met this legend. Humblest person ever to meet. I work at a bank in Sri Lanka. The Great Murali was a client and oneday he visited the bank with his family. I had the chance to see him up close and talk to him in person. I told him how honoured I was to see him in person. His reponse was, "Brother, dont be like this, Im also a normal human being like u." He literary doesnt like being highlighted in public. Trust me. Nobody cant be more humble or kind as a person. I love him not just bcuz hes legendary cricket, best spinner of all time but hes also a man with a very big heart.
