Beautiful vid. Heartwarming & heartbreaking. Metin Akdulger as Sultan Murad and Farah Zeynep Abdullah as Princess Farya are perfect together. Incredible actors, with great chemistry together. Despite her faults, Farya has a very beautiful, courageous & noble soul. The perfect soul mate & life long love for Murad, a good man with a noble heart striving to keep his innocence and conscience. But not perhaps Murad the merciless ruthless sultan he slowly turns into. As long as Murad had Farya by his side, I thought he would eventually triumph over anything. Terrible tragic ending though for such a great couple & such wonderful characters. This vid would have been perfect on the show going through Murad's mind when Farya passes as he realises what he has lost. Thank you so much for posting.

Farya is likely is based on Şemsişah Sultan who is said to have been princess (albeit from Georgia), Sultan Murad's 2nd Haseki Sultan, his legally wedded wife, mother of 2 sons to Murad (Şehzade Suleiman & Şehzade Selim) & 2 daughters (Hafsa Sultan & Fatma Sultan). "Şemsişah" in Arabic (& Ottoman Turkish) is split into 2 parts. The first part "Şemsi" means "my sun".

SPOILERS I was a huge fan of their love story in the beginning. They were cute together. But then things got worse and worse, first when Murad slept with another woman, and then when he tried to have Farya killed. He only changed his mind because she told him she was pregnant. If she hadn't been pregnant, he would've killed her right then. Not a great example of healthy love.

Agree with you but in the scene where Farya storms into the havlet, if’s clear that Murad would never risk losing Farya for Sanavber when he kicks Sanavber &.the other entertainers out. But Murad giving her to the executioners is terrible lazy writing.

@@CadwallonMawr Yes I agree, Sanavber was not that important to him (he felt desire for her but he was clearly not in love). And being the Sultan, it was normal for him to sleep with multiple concubines. It wasn't really a big deal, given the context. But the scene where he tried to have Farya executed was awful, and I'm glad Farya called him out on it a few episodes later. Even though they reconciled afterwards, their love story was not the same anymore.

@@cherylpiorkowski Yes, agreed. I can't quite reconcile how Murad could possibly send Farya to the executioners after everything they had gone through together & given all she had sacrificed for him. It seems a dreadful betrayal. It also makes unclear whether he had fallen out of love with her or whether she was his one true love & love of his life (as the show has been telling us) but he was so psychologically damaged & angry that he was willing to have her murdered at that moment. Although I think the writers probably intended to rekindle their love story further before the end but the actress left the show before that happened.

@@cherylpiorkowski Ironically, 2 of Farya's most epic scenes are where she storms into Murad's havlet & confronts him about Sanavber & where she calls Murad out for giving her to the executioners & she tells him she doesn't recognise him anymore. Those 2 scenes alone could have earned the actress (Farah) some serious acting awards.

Oglądałam trochę serialu Sulejman Wspaniały. Niestety gra aktora średnia, tym bardziej zaskoczenie, że postać Murada znakomicie zagrał Metin Akdulker, świetny wybór. Faria to też bardzo dobra aktorka, razem stworzyli niezapomnianą parę i bardzo podnieśli poprzeczki, jako odtwórcy głównych ról . Cały serial bardzo zyskał.

Farya is a fictional character made up by script writers in order to make the period TV drama attract more audience. In reality, there was only Ayse and that too unlike the romance between Suleiman and Hurrem or Ahmed and Kosem, there is no historical accounts whether they are in love or not. Plus Metin Akdulger and Farah Zeinep are Turkish screen celebrities who happen to be just the right characters for the script writers to let them make the scenario. I believe there may be some criticism regarding this. Because the predecessor TV series Magnificent Century based on the life of Sultan Suleiman too was heavily criticized by Turkey's president Erdogan and many religious scholars as a disrespectful portrayal of the Sultan and also a portrayal of the country's history in a negative light among the youth. Nevertheless, it won countless accolades and complements among viewers and many believed that it boosted Turkish television greatly.

I believe that Magnificent century will not come out without criticism, the ladies costumes resemble more of European than native Turkish noble clothing. plus no offense, there is even exposure of cleavage in many of the episodes of Kosem which might be considered inappropriate by religious historians.
