This show is comedy gold. Really goes to show how timeless the muppets franchise really is. This attraction has survived almost 31 years now with barely anything changed. (Give or take a few queue decorations like posters)

This show is one of my childhood favorites. Being amazed and a little frightened that Sweetums was an actual actor and not 3D. Great times. 😄

What, no, just because he's REAL doesn't mean he isn't 3D. Of course real Sweetums is 3D!

I like the new sign. I hope they NEVER change the show. It's one of Jim Henson and Richard Hunt's last projects together, and it is perfect (of course, I'm biased). And for those who don't know, Richard Hunt's characters in this include Scooter, Statler, and Sweetums. My sister and I would always hang back in line, and not enter the waiting area if hte preshow was close to finishing and they were letting people in the actual theater. We wanted to see the pre-show from the beginning, so we would let everyone else go in ahead of us. We've gotten funny looks, and people asking, and I always said to them, "we want to see the pre-show from the beginning." I don't think a lot of people understood that, but everyone travels to a different drummer . . . . why am I suddenly thinking about the Monkees? (lol)

Fun fact: When the Swedish chef starts shooting a gun and cannon, if you look behind you, you can see the chef with a gun and cannon!

This makes me remember a middle school trip where me and my friend were walking around and randomly decided to watch the show. By the end of it that whole thing became a highlight and we left the theater laughing for like a solid 15 minutes at least

The Sam Eagle gasp around 00:25:35 is pure gold.

Happy Anniversary, dear Muppets. I think you all are so underrated. Hearing the kids laugh in the preshow is the real reason this zaniness must continue. Hubba, hubba, the video came out great, 4K! Peace💜

As a Muppet fan I agree with everything you said.

I like how Sweedum comes out of the door during the show. I also like how it shows the back of the building in the park.

Anyone else wish they could do meet and greets with The Muppets like they do with the other Disney characters?

yep, they used to back in the 90s! They are bringing back the Figment meet and greet to EPCOT, so maybe The Muppets will make a return eventually too!

Statler and Waldorf are my all-time favorites. In fact, now that I am retired, they are my role models in old age, along with Mr. Wilson from Dennis the Menace, Fred Mertz, and most of all, Diana Trent from Waiting for God, who fully “gets it”.

I did not notice the cute queue decorations as it was a walk-on when we were there. Thanks for pointing those out. I am a lifelong Muppet fan!

Please forgive me for spamming the comments. I commented before I watched the video. The line is playing one of my favorite Muppet songs, "Happiness Hotel!" And I never noticed the eyeballs on the vents before. That is in TRUE Jim Henson fashion, and that's what I loved about the man. ANYTHING could be a Muppet!

@@PointlessNostalgia I'm sorry I didn't hear “That's you penguins” when I first watch this in another video where there's no audience I hear “that's you penguins” to here I can simply say it's a sound illustration to mine I play this again and again I really hear “that's you honeybunch” 5x... When I focus to the main point I hear “that's you penguins” 2x but messy not clear... TvT I guess, I have a weird brain that makes me believe that it's indicating to miss piggy not the penguins...

I also never got the chance to see this show, thanks so much for filming it! My only disappointment was that Rowlf was not in the show itself or the pre-show. He is my favorite Muppet. Loved seeing him on the poster during the exit walk, though!

It’s my pleasure B.J. This show is such an important piece to not only the Studios, but to WDW as a whole in my opinion. Since this was Jim Henson’s last project he ever worked on before suddenly passing away, this show should always have a place in the park. The humor also holds up well after 30 years, so I’d say it is a timeless attraction! Thanks for watching as always!

I remember watching this at Disney's California Adventure back in 2012 Grand Night (it was also the last time I went to the Disney parks and don't plan on coming back since). 🐸🐻🐷

I now am obsessed with Sam eagle and the muppets again after going to this show at Florida for my high school’s graduation trip

One of my favorites!!! The footage came out GREAT and really isolated whatever (left or right) image surprisingly well! If you ever get to go again, see if you can sit more in the middle 🙏and it will be absolutely perfect!!! Thanks for uploading!!! 😄

His name is Sweetums. Last time I was in WDW at this attraction, he actually game into the waiting area and mingled with the guests.

This was great 👍🏻 I never had a chance to see it in person.

I would've preferred giving the exterior of the Muppet*Vision 3D theater the sign with the statue of Kermit that was given to the former Disney California Adventure version, the yellow, orange and red hot air balloon with the image of Kermit's face on top of the clock tower and the statues of Fozzie, Gonzo and Animal for the fountain.

This is one of my favorites in all of Disney!

The key really is under the mat too. Lift it next time you're there

Never been through that queue/line system in the countless times I have been before. Sounds like the only masks that will be at WDW soon will be the ones at the tiki room!

I miss when this was at California adventure. To be honest I could tell it wasn’t that popular. There would literally be my family of 4 and maybe 2 families in the group. But I loved it!

The difference between this pre show and the California version is here in the boarding area there is no built in timer plus captions & in California (now permanently closed) there was a timer without closed captions.

The picture looks so clean - I'm assuming it's a digital print what they show now; but I wonder if it's clean because they've made a intensive remaster, or maybe the original short was already digitally made and they've just simply gotten back to these and rerendered? Idk.

OK so according to IMDB - the movie was shot with a 65mm camera and shown in 70mm. That might explain why it looks so clean, too. But I'm sure it's gotta be a digital print of a scan given that there's absolutely no film grain or anything lik eit

asking the real questions!! i don't think it's possible for current muppet-vision to be projecting film, but, moreover, i think the wear of showing the film every twenty minutes precludes ever projecting it from film. that being said, i'd guess you're spot on that this looks so good because it was shot on film and then digitally transferred as part of the initial production. that would also have probably made working with a cgi character much easier? but idek how true that is in the late 80s so grain of salt

Francis Ford Coppola probably looked at this and gave him the idea to make Megalopolis “interactive.”

What’s the difference between Muppet Vision 3D and Shrek 4-D?

Muppet Vision 3D predates Shrek 4D by about 10 years. Additionally, the attractions can be found in different parks (Muppet Vision in Walt Disney World and formerly Disneyland and Shrek 4D formerly in Universal Studios). The two films also differ in plot and properties. Muppet Vision 3D uses Jim Henson's muppet property while Shrek 4D uses the Shrek property. The plots of the films are also vastly different. Muppet Vision is portrayed as a tour of the Muppet Labs, while Shrek 4D is a sequel to the first Shrek movie. Shrek 4D also uses computer generated graphics for all of its effects, while Muppet Vision 3D uses physical puppets a majority of the time, only rarely using CGI. With all of these differences, there are some similarities. For one, both projects use "4D" technology, (ex. Spraying water at audience). In addition, both attractions predominantly feature a green character (Kermit in Muppet Vision and Shrek and Fiona in Shrek 4D).
