Very brief presentation of the Munsell system using samples from various Munsell books and educational materials. I don't insist much on the HVC (Hue Value Chroma) notation because my goal is to expose the viewer to what the Munsell colors are all about.

This is brilliant! I've always wanted to know what was in the two volume I unwell book of color. I've never seen The Master Pallett.

Why did Munsell think that the color wheel should include red-purple and blue-purple? Purple is already red-blue.

Warmer purple and a cooler purple, dependenent on the red or blue ratios

Where do I buy that Munsell Book of Color ? Is that the glossy edition? I bout the student edition but all the chips were missing. Had to return it. This one company I looked into said if I open the package and the book it not refundable. Need a good source to go buy the book.

Go to Xrite.com to find out more about the Munsell Book of Color and how to purchase it, if you're interested. Be aware that Xrite only sells the "Full" 100 swatches Munsell Book of colors. Not cheap but very much worth it. Garanteed not to fade for many years of service. Made from super stable pigments. You get what you pay for :-)

On X-Rite web site. X-Rite now owns the rights to Munsell products. Try www.xrite.com. And keep an eye on eBay ;-)
