My only question is why doesn’t the wax girl make a parasol. Shade from the sun at all times! She probably still has to go into the shade, but she could last longer!

Because.... The writers didn't want her to have one. In the end-credits, her father is out in the middle of the day under a parasol. So they did think of it, but probably didn't wanna add it in the movie itself, so they could play with her fickle nature more.

I remember ADORING this as a kid. Now, as a teen, I love it even more. Now, instead of just focusing on the cool moon and sun stuff, I can appreciate the amazing backgrounds, the nice character designs and fluid animation (well, kinda fluid. Mune's face looks flat at times. Still great job)

I once murdered somebody in one of my dreams. It was so jarring and realistic it seemed like it shouldn’t have been there in the first place. The setting was a game like world and I was quested to assassinate some cat lady for a reason that I wasn’t told of, or don’t remember. I snuck into her home and killed her. I had to hide her body because a couple of people were coming into the house so I dragged her and myself into this closet and sat there in complete silence, shivering while her cold body pressed against me. It was pretty traumatizing and I was scared of myself for a bit after that, but I’m fine now.

The sun part reminds me of a Hawaiian story about a dimi-god (I can’t remember what his name was) who harpoons the sun closer to the islands so he could get a tan. And yes that’s actually how the story went. 😂

This movie has some surprising moments of hilariousness for the dark tones it delves into later on. Though I always questioned the importance of the candle girl 🤔 it felt like she was just there to be Mune's girl

To be fair, she did re-ignite the sun, which caused her to 'die'. That caused Mune to get the resolve to really beat the villain-man (forgot his name). Besides that, I'm pretty sure Mune and Sohone wouldn't have stayed together through the journey, if Glim hadn't been there. They'd probably have ended up bickering, and split ways half-way through.

@@msk-qp6fn True. That's why I really liked the upgrade she got from flying, old turtle-manta-ray-shock guy. Only for it to become useless in the face of the sun. Then again, it is the sun. I wish she would've stayed dead, though. I truly wanted her to live, but her dying would've really been a true blow to both guardians.

Even manta ray guy had a more powerful impact than her ngl. But that may be because I hate romance in adventure stories in general so idk

@@siuol_ly6141 Nah. It's not just you. I wasn't really interested in their romance either. It was cute. Definitely. But it didn't really feel like any real development went into it. I think this movie would've worked better as a series. The world seemed so vast, so they could've used all of those episodes to explore it and make the journey longer/more difficult. That way, they'd also have had the time to develop and actual sub-romance-plot I could get invested in.

I remember this movie when I was young, and I love it so much that I looked for it over the years.

I've never seen this movie but it looks gorgeous I love the world concepts and style its absolutely beautiful and I am glad that it seems as tho neither of the arrogant people will be chosen (at least not without some humbleness added to their character first)

I just found this clip in my feed and I have to say it's georges, the animation is cool, the textures are great, the different designs for every citizen. It's as brilliant as the story for itself ❤💙 And tbh I know how you feel, all my life the animated shows were gold for me, even now I'm in college with 19 and I've never had someone who liked to watch somehing with me for real. My Mom got only me, have no sibblings and she barely understands my shows so I'm all alone. At least I can say my close friends love watchin' chibi anime & the old Barbie movies (so do I) yet It's not quite the same.

Bruh i was 16 when this came out. It's a pretty good movie nonetheless. Makes me wanna play Sky though XD

I would certainly recommend it. It isn't without some flaws, but it's world-building, animation, and overall story makes it very worthwhile. Plus, Mune is adorable, and I don't say that often with film characters.
