Lyrics below:
Weep for yourself, my man
You'll never be what is in your heart
Weep, little lion man
You're not as brave as you were at the start
Rate yourself and rake yourself
Take all the courage you have left
And waste it on fixing all the problems
That you made in your own head
But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my-
Tremble for yourself, my man
You know that you have seen this all before
Tremble, little lion man
You'll never settle any of your scores
Your grace is wasted in your face
Your boldness stands alone among the wreck
Now learn from your mother or else
Spend your days biting your own neck
But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my dear?
But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my dear?

Listened to this in the car going home from bar, after a rough day… listening to the lyrics “you’re not as brave as you were at the start…. Fixing all the problems you made in your own head….” Fuck… I balled. I lost who I was. BUT IM STILL YOUNG and this song reminds me of who I can still become despite wasting the last 6 years of my life!
I always played this song as a mature man's letter to his young self, apologizing for not being able to become what both once dreamed

2024 and I still love it
Came back to visit because of Winston Marshall in 2024 and wow, what a past decade or so. Maybe I don't spend enough time looking back and knowing how far I've come. Maybe we've just been busy hanging on the edge. Maybe, just maybe, it's not so much time that passes but rather the expansion of our hearts, minds and souls that truly keeps our clocks. As crazy as everything is in this state of now I would not trade the journey to go back. However, listening to this and also "I will Wait" feels sweet, and I'm smiling. Thank you😊
Who’s back in 2024. Classic.

I’ve heard this song over and over years ago when it first came out but never paid much attention to it. It’s sat in my mind for the past few days, only now am I truly listening to it, and for the season Im going through right now of self reflection and realisation this song is hitting my spirit hard ❤️ It’s like the years of crying, self destruction and self pity I’ve had for so long, only now have I realised I’m the only one who can change it and this beautiful masterpiece of an anthem sums it up perfectly.
I never get tired of this song🥺💕
Been listening to this song for almost 10 years now and it never gets old. Underrated is an understatement 💚

Listening to these songs make me both happy and sad at the same time. I get happy and nostalgic but all sad and wish I could go back to when my life was so much easier and simpler when I was a child.

Such simple lines yet so effective. Love the line "But it was not your fault but mine". It is so important to inform people that something wasn't their fault because we all have the ability to eat ourselves with depression when thinking something as such.
