Mum Tries To Build Her Own Open Suse Based Linux Distro With Suse Studio (2017)

Ойын-сауық

Often though of as the "easy way" to make a linux distro, we have "Suse Studio". It may be easy when compared to other methods but will Diana find it easy? Watch this episode to find out!
Don't think I pronounced "Suse" correctly? Watch this video:

OSFirstTimer Advanced ditches the original 5 basic tasks and introduces a new random advanced task each episode. The task can involve literally anything from video editing to 3d modelling to programming and even attempting to destroy an operating system.
Random tasks using random software in random operating systems from random time periods... now this will be a lot more interesting! Don't worry though as we may occasionally go back to our roots and do a few "original series" episodes.
I hope you guys enjoy this episode and look forward to whatever crazy task we do next episode on OSFirstTimer Advanced.

It would make for a much smoother experience for both of you, and also for your viewers. It's important for you to know what package managers are used on various distros, as well as knowing if there's a graphical tool to install software. In this case it's YaST. Good luck!

I kinda like how you added the Suse Studio mascot into the video thumbnail... 3:10 I just had to make up a fake DistroWatch entry. Name: *Attacker Ant's OS* OS Type: Linux Based on: Debian Origin: Unknown Architecture: i586, x86_64 Desktop: TDE Category: Desktop, Live Medium, Specialist Release Model: Fixed Status: Fictional Popularity: Unknown Attacker Ant's OS is a Debian-based Linux distribution that is loaded with not only the standard Debian and TDE software bundles, but also includes tools used for the hacking of the infrastructures of ant colonies, and in later releases, tools used to hack and manipulate the ecosystems and infrastructures of other wild animals. During installation, the user can opt to not have those special tools installed, leaving the user with a very comic/cartoon style UI on top of TDE, but the stock TDE themes are still available. 16:57 Yeah I think I'd be interested in downloading *VMWare Workstation OSFirstTimer Edition*, which, from what I heard, is one of the few hypervisor apps that supports the OSFirstTimer Virtual Machine Format (.osftvm and .osfthd). 25:57 I don't know the correct name for it, but it's the internal X11 mouse cursor that to me means "menu item select". 27:34 That window looks weird because it's a GNOME 3 program, and I didn't know KDE Plasma could apply its theme to GNOME 3 programs. 30:57 "apt" is only used in Debian and its derivatives.

You're really spoiling us with these frequent videos recently. Didn't it used to be monthly? I know it used to be much longer before a new video came out. Also, I'm unable to make any donations, but if I could, I definitely would.

As a manual car driver, I can say that after learning it, it's better than an automatic in every way. But then again, if I hadn't been born and raised in an area where manual cars are the norm, I would have never learnt how to drive one.

Do you still want to know what a RAW file is and what to do with one? A RAW file is a file that contains the binary data as it would be written to a disk, including the partition tables and file systems. Normally when you put files on hard disk (through explorer or your file browser) you are accessing the disk through a file system and this provides a layer of abstraction. On Linux you would use something like `dd` to copy it to another hard disk or USB drive and then that device would work as a bootable disk. There should be tools on Windows for doing the same thing. If I am not mistaken, a RAW is the same as an IMG and so Win32 Disk Imager can be used. Strange that the additional formats you selected didn't get built but I haven't used SUSE Studio so can't say where you'd find the download for your additional formats.
