i play with people who were in the top 50 in the world during open beta

I think the speed is perfect for a game without shields and grabs. People will get used to it. Beta speed killed the game for casuals, 1v1 was dragon ball z and 2v2 was a spam mess

I do think they pulled in the camera a tiny bit too much but the speed looks good. Fast enough for the competitive players but easy enough to read for the casuals. Looking forward to getting my hands on Stripe again!

Yep I thought the camera was a little bit too close. In 2v2 im sure it’ll be fine and I guess we will just have to adjust for 1v1

As an Arya main I noticed a few things, but the biggest Arya change I noticed was the consistency on her up special, now when she does it she moves to the same spot regardless, even on whiff, this is a HUGE buff to her recovery!

Very excited for the launch! One thing I did notice, the music during the game, during final ring out, the stages didn’t play final ring out music, wonder if it’s just a glitch, either way, I hope in the actual relaunch once I play, they have the final ring out music in addition to the main theme music for the stages!

I forgot but is there an option to turn off the color outlines in 1v1s? I can see why they'd be needed if ur doing mirror matches or in 2v2s but I can't be the only one that feels it takes away from the enjoyment of looking at the skins of you and your opponent when they're being basically shrouded in a thick color outline the entire time

Yeah you can remove it. There's also two layers of outlines that you can control. One that is applied to the whole character that gives it the red shading. The other one is just the character's outline. As far as I remember, you should be able to play around with the setting and choose which one you want turned off. I found that having the outline on and the shading off is perfect. Outline doesn't take away from what the skin should actually look like but also does its job as well. Shading is ass so definitely have that off lol

This is beatiful seing how one of my favorite games died and came back stronger than ever, is incredible the new physics and the new competitive, they really love this project

Already theres so much more neutral. While for some it may look slow I think it seems more engaging having to choose your openings and baiting instead of throwing yourself at your opponent at all times.

Can’t wait for next week gonna be a day one banana guard main. W Joker gameplay btw

Don’t know how to feel about characters being big and slow like this now… feel like the speed change could have been a 2v2 thing only. Pro play is gonna look a LOT slower and campy imo which in the long run won’t be good for player retention. The fast paced nature was a driving factor for a lot of players

Campy? There's literally a mechanic that punishes you for camping, you're just saying stuff randomly now. That "driving factor" turned away several audiences with loads of players not liking how much of a DBZ spamfest the beta was.

idk man feels too slow watching it, also not a huge fan of this close camera. But who knows maybe i'll like it when i'll play the game. W joker tho ill be maining him too

The game play looks slow they need to speed the movement but the graphics are good.

As a smash player who played the beta they look like they fixed the feeling of moved having impact. Like it made the game feel kind of bland before but they fixed it. I'm actually excited to play now

the netcode in this game is extremely stable.havent experienced any stutters yet even against my friend who lives in the uk(im in portugal)

The game has Neutral now. You actually have to be strategic and don’t win off of one button confirms without the proper DI you could get zero to death everytime you hit the stage

There was a setting in the beta version where you could set characters to show team colors or turn them off completely. Pretty sure it will be the same.

The fact this pro player has the same nickname as me makes me so proud

Question! are all projectiles as parryable? heavier/ charged projectiles are they treated the same by the dodge-parry?

This is awesome! I don't know if anyone else cares, but just a suggestion, I'd shrink the camera by like 25% or so. you're beautiful, but it's taking up a whole lot of the screen 😘 *EDIT* It actually may be because the camera is more zoomed in this time around too

why is there such thick outlines on the characters? cant see the costumes.

I think my main issue is the size of the characters. Or should I say the character proportion. It seems a little off. I feel like Aria is not that tall. Joker is generally a tall guy. Morty looks bigger than he should as well.

Some people are complaining about the screen zoom and slower speed, but I feel like as a spectator I can follow what’s going on way better. Plus I don’t necessarily see the screen zoom complaints for a 1v1, you can play full screen, and most stages aren’t that complex where it matters to see the whole stage while fighting. I could definitely see it getting zoomed out again and be fine, but the speed seems fine.

This game is going to die fast. it wasn't the speed of the game that made it floaty and slippery it was that fucking doge that was legit faster than running where u just spam smash attack then doge , doge back in spam smash attack then doge again or the same thing but ur fishing for a hit to start a combo so you can shit on the people dumb enough to not use doge as mush as you. The best characters were the ones who could do that better then the rest of the cast and could zone.

that's why the dodge meter is reworked to be how it is. Dodge cancelling now burns half of it and you get 6 dodges' worth before it empties and you lose your intangibility and canceling rights for a substantial period of time.

Game is not slow they are just playing slow to minimize mistakes

They changed attack decay. Not rempoved. If you spam the same move too much it deals less damage and less knockback.

attack decay became hidden and also less severe than it was in the beta. It's more in line with Smash games' staling mechanics now rather than "this move will never accomplish anything if you use it more than 4 times in a row"

We not gonna act like the game messed up with the parry? Cause when someone parries a projectile the attacker is already able to run and attack again while the person who parried correctly gets slowed😭
