I feel like they were told to redo their homework, but not allowed to use their rough draft. I would've been fine if they copy pasted their UI.

“Enjoy” a couple of rift matches is crazy

Cutscenes are cool, but the Rift mode in general is wack, imo. In 2v2, the stages feel painfully small. Matchmaking is cheeks. So you’re left with the solid 1v1, which is not what had me excited for the game in the first place.

The gameplay loop to me wasn't poor. I really enjoyed the rift mode, but what tied it together were the cutscenes and the story (i know some people just skip, skip, play). However, without it there is nothing to tie it all together, imo.

@@BluhbearI enjoy both, 2v2 has its advantages and disadvantages depending on who you main. Some characters are better in 2s than in 1s, and visa versa, which to me adds better opportunities to feel like you should main more than one character, and balances out some characters that seemingly feel OP. Rifts I feel like could be done better, as in adding more exp, and add more to gameplay making them feel more important. Unless it’s a single player game I often don’t pay attention to the story I just want to get as good as I can as quick as possible. Even in WoW i completely skipped the story because to me it was a waste of time. For pvp, I would love to see them add fighter currency per win to make grinding worth while, as well as add outfits to fighter currency at a much higher price than real money, again so free 2 play. Players can grind longer making pvp grinding worth while. As of now there is very little reason to play all day if someone wanted to.

@@RyanB257 I simply don't have a main because I want to play everyone a little, but I do go back and forth. I think the different modes are designed for different players. Rift are for people who want story, rather than to be the best at PvP. They should really work on making the story more interesting. They do kind of have fighter currency for PvP rewards, just not directly. You get account mastery, character mastery, and battlepass XP, and all of those things have fighter currency in there somewhere. I do wish they had less perk currency everywhere, and fighter currency in its place. Especially the repeatable rewards past level 15 of character mastery. There's so much perk currency it's practically worthless.

The title is exactly what I’ve been saying . There is no reason to play right now in my opinion no ranked mode roster is lacking a lot as well .

Today I got the most toxic Black Adam. I think the player base has a toxicity problem. I don't care, I play DBD but still the amount of toxicity seems very high. I think it has to do with the price for skins and characters.

Aside from what was touched on here, I think there's also just a lack of a "hype" factor around the game currently. We haven't gotten any new characters or stages since launch four weeks ago. There's been a lot of leaks that got people talking for sure, but no sign of them actually coming to the game anytime soon. I don't want it to be like in the beta where they tried to push out characters every two weeks because that came with it's own set of issues, and I get there's a lot of stuff that still needs addressing, but I hope that doesn't mean a lot of the more eye-catching stuff has been pushed back. I myself have kinda just become one of those players that logs in to do my dailies, unless friends want to squad or lobby up. One of the biggest boons for me is the fighter currency being so scarce, I think that definitely needs to be reworked like they did for the battle pass XP.

I’m be honest here, to release a fighting game, and then over a month later say “ok here’s ranked!” Is just weird. I’m not a game dev, but if I was there making decisions ranked would be there day one. Because it’s the essence of a fighting game.

Right, ESPECIALLY because we already had ranked in the beta..... but now patches and a bunch of other balance changes are too little too late. I want this game to succeed, but man it's hard to stay optimistic.

I think i would definitely want ranked now over not, although i understand why they haven't yet. For characters like iron giant having an infinite before they patched it, that would have been a huge problem. If people could do that day 1 on ranked they would immediately jump to the highest rank by spamming his infite (which if did correctly would take you 0-death) and people wouldn't even play ranked because of it. And people who take the game serious would only play ranked once all characters have been balanced to the point where they can be countered.

​@igoldenknight2169 well yes, ut the beta is drastically different from the finished game. Everything thing is way slower which affects dodge windows. On top of the hitboxes being drastically better it is bound to have cheese with characters that can be abused. With that said i do think they should have went with day 1, its a lose lose but people would probably be happier with day 1. But i know people would be pissed off because of the unbalanced characters being the only characters played in ranked, all being abused.

@@ryanfoster9131 agreed. I’ve played beta day one. I am by no means a “top player” but I’m pretty experienced. They went through a ton of nerfs and changes from crazy things just in beta. Which is supposed to happen. But I feel there was some back peddling on things, and I think the two major culprits is building the game in unreal engine 5, and of course WB. It’s definitely a lose lose here, but those who suffer are the players. It’s in the past now, they need to act fast and make better decisions now. We need ranked, and we need better rewards. One of which I want is rewarding more fighter currency. Not everyone has 35 fighter tickets.

I enjoyed my progress being tracked. Not having damage numbers and KO's shown at the end of each match is really a buzzkill. I feel like it would not be hard to add (it was in the beta). It will give me a purpose to do better each game. Seeing 4 knockouts always felt so good. Trying to break your record on most damage in a match. Kept me coming back for more. Now that its all gone I have no reason to play. I feel like im not improving at all anymore. Cant even see my badges until i equip them and start a match.

We need more character currency 💴

What bothers me about Rifts now is that it feels ridiculous when you get past Crushing. For some matches, you have to cheese some of the fights by using Steven to stand on his shield where they can't reach you, and they will Outring themselves, but that doesn't even work on every map. For example, techno-terror Insanity is crazy. You end up with 2 paths: shaggy and Banana Guard or Shaggy and Batman. You have a banana guard to help, but the banana guard feels very dumb compared to the opponent AI. I love this game and play a lot, but Rifts on insanity are stupid and make no sense I have level 8 and 9 gems, and I can't beat those missions. The lack of characters coming out that we are aware of is not good either. It makes people think there is nothing to look forward to if the only character coming out this season is Agent Smith than why are we playing. I really hope the Aqua Man coming theory is true and that they expect him to drop some where with in the next two weeks. You got to give people stuff to look forward too. Give road maps do more to let people know when they expect stuff to come out. I love this game but I find myself starting to loss interest because there is nothing to excite me anymore I don't care about agent smith. I own all the characters, the events don't really keep me here. I only do the events because I love the game. I want the most out of it. So I do the events. I don't care about the skins. I am not rich but I have money to buy skins if I want skins for a character. I only watch for twich drops because I love garnet and wanted the skin because it is a garnet skin.

I don't feel ranked is really a solution, especially if the game isn't balanced. You just end up with a leaderboard of a million shaggys, and people crying for nerfs and balance. Also, I feel the roster is still too small. Some of the datamining showed what they have now is like 1/4 of all the currently planned characters. Ranked should hit when everything is good, and there is a massive, massive smash bros. size roster. What needs to happen, is more new characters quicker, that would get people coming in to play for sure. Also, they could introduce some other fun modes to just play and enjoy. Much like older fighting games, they could put in a fun mode where you pick a character and then slowly defeat all the other ones to get to an ending. Think, old school street fighter II, soulcalibur, mortal kombat, games like that. Now days, you could even add rogue-lite elements, where you get to pick unique powerups after each fight to really make matches different and fun. Also, the mentality of a F2p game is different then "a game you bought" I feel players need or expect to be rewarded for their playtime in a f2p game. And likely rightly justified, nothing is available to use! Where, if the game was just all there for you already, I'm sure a great adventure mode to just play over and over with characters just to get endings, new character unlocks, cosmetics and such, would have a big draw. it certainly worked for super smash bros., slay the spire, etc. Where here, the F2p wall, basiclly is preventing all of that from happening. I can't really complain though, I've enjoyed 30 hours of entertainment so far, and it didn't cost me anything. If they change things so I can spend roughly, the amount of a AAA title, 60 bucks total for a premium game, and I mean all of it, then sure I would buy in. Till then, I'll just poke in play when it's fun and then do other stuff. I won't buy in when it's holding a "mobile game" cost mentality. I feel those don't ever really work out. cough... speedstorm... cough..

I agree. Ranked needs to be pushed out asap. There's always gonne be someone that finds a broken strat, and that's no exception if ranked comes out. I don't even care if the #1 ranked person cheeses his way to the top, it's happened before. Idk if this is just me, but winning is even starting to feel bad without this ranked ladder. When I win against a new player, I don't feel proud and I feel like just stomping 3-0 might turn them off to the game and sometimes you can just feel their frustration. And if you win against a sweaty, you're kinda left slightly drained without the satisfaction that this brought you one step up the ladder (hard work, no reward).

I stopped after literally a couple hours of play. It just didn't have that "keep me entertained" factor

I feel it. It can get like that at times for sure.

A few changes I’d make… 1. More battle pass XP for PvP wins, 2. Less attention paid to gem points for rewards, overall (instead, give a bit more Gleamium and/or BP XP out sometimes), 3. Require fewer prestige points for prestige rewards (I think it’s ridiculous as it is now!), 4. Have fewer requirements to have specific characters/types in Rift mode, or at least make it more attainable, 5. Be less strict about requiring a friend to complete Rift goals for everything. Overall, I really wish completing the battle pass were far more achievable than it seems to be now. I play every day and I feel like I might not even make it, let alone others who don’t have as much time for the grind.

Bright side, number 5 they already addressed and said they won't have it anymore. They seem to always try to listen, but as said before I think it's a bit too cautious when it comes to gameplay. (just my opinion though)

I had someone challenged me in a one V1 and somebody else’s chat played them one game they won 2 to 3 stocks. They ran straight back to the chat and starts celebrating like they did something instead of finishing a set so I really can’t wait till ranked because I know for a fact you can’t quit out of it.😂

I, personally, just still play. I enjoy the gameplay. I, basically, play Black Adam as my main and Jason as my secondary. Each time I play I do get some variance in opponents, but I get excited when I find an opponent better than me. Even now, I got wrecked as Finn to begin with, and I did rematches until he stopped rematching (And even walked off the stage at the last match. Being generous I will assume he wasn't being salty, but just assume he had something come up and had to go.). So I learn and get better, learn to use my options and learn how to read opponents. I'm, basically, preparing myself for when ranked comes out. I'm sad that so many seem frustrated at the game. TL;DR - I still play a lot and treat it as getting better for when ranked does come out.

If they focused on what the people really wanted (Better gameplay, characters and netcode + ranked) Instead of Pve mode or a complete Engine change, they would have a great game worth playing and grinding, i've always supported the game and i want it to succed but im totally dissapointed

Rift mode, to me, is a complete miss. It sounded great at the beginning but having to pay for skins to complete challenges, a requirement to have certain characters to be able to finish the rifts ( I’m aware they have started to address this), and the lack of character development just makes it a boring experience that I don’t want to participate in because I feel like I’m feeding a corporate machine, rather than supporting developers who love their game. I will pay out the nose for awesome skins like the Batman Who Laughs or Black Lantern Superman; I’m not forking out cash for a Joker skin where he’s wearing a graphic T of his own face on it, which is a serious downgrade from his original skin. They need money to keep the game running, I understand that and I’m entirely willing to support them where I see effort and awesome, passionate work that makes my experience more enjoyable. They need to focus their energy into making the game awesome with sweet cosmetics and they’ll make their money back, tenfold. Also, they need to keep releasing characters we care about: Ben Ten, Samurai Jack, Godzilla, Courage the Cowardly Dog, etc if they want to keep people invested. They need to go outside of the status quo of Looney Toons and DC characters. Jason and Agent Smith were great additions, they need to stay outside their original vein until people start asking for the characters that are easy, copyright speaking, to add to the game. And where my boy Scooby at??? Velma and Shaggy but no Scooby??? Come on now.

You were so accurate with this that I subscribed to your channel. Thank you for explaining the reason I have been hating PvP in Multiversus and sticking with Rifts.

Yeah I’m caught up on rifts and finish my daily/ weekly missions within an hour and without ranked I don’t have much incentive to play. If I wanted to I could reach level 70 in the battle pass but I can save time and wait for daily and weekly missions so yeah

It's tuff after fixing stuff ranked that they've been working on for so long still isn't working

I can play a game if im good or bad at it, but the one thing that can be a issue for me is changing the gameplay so much it ruins the experience for me. I come from playing Tekken and movement is something I like most in games, them making it slow and the neat movements that can be done by characters is pretty entertaining to watch from other players. Now that its gone, I hardly like to see content creators who probably inspired me to play certain characters.

I think the game is good. But i couple problems like the rifts the rifts are fun but hate that some battles require a costume or a character i dont own. Which is so dumb. As much I want agent smith but hes probably going to be in the shop later down the road with fighter currency

Everyone will be able to get him I believe, you don't need to do anything extra. I think as long as you play you'll be ok. They confirmed there are more chapters coming, it isn't just the ones we have now. Players who are completionists will have him earlier, but I think those who just do every chapter should get him too. (don't quote me in that, but more chapters are coming)

I personally don't care about the ranked at all, i play this game because it's fun to use all the interesting characters it has to offer, i have tf2 brain. This game can't be competitive anyway until they unlock every fighter in local play. I just like playing a few matches with real humans and with fake humans, if the fun is not enough sometimes there's always the points go up and unlock a thing that's fun to collect.

They need to change it back to the beta style but keeping the changes with the new system, like the dodges, and just tone down the speed. Boom perfect for the game. Cause back then I actually felt like I was working to beat my opponent. Now, everyone can just send the enemy flying in some short hits. It gets boring after awhile.

Would you still say its better than Speedstorm? 😅

I uninstalled it 8 days ago. The constant crashes and mobile game daily weekly quest made it feel like a job as well. Ranked should have been there day 1. They should have let us deal with the broken characters in ranked and buff/nerfed them later. Street fighter does this well. What a shame. Not a fan of the repeat rift mode stuff.

I really do feel the same, it's not good enough in either direction to satisfy anybody. The rifts are more of a chore than a fulfilling PvE experience, especially with the gem system that essentially means "Effort doesn't matter, just level up your gems and you'll win eventually. Also you can pay to level up your gems."... while PvP just doesn't bear enough incentive to play either with the minimal matchmaking, frustrating top-tiers and sub-par training mode. I have no doubt that Player First wants to make the best game possible, but I can also feel that corporate mandate to string the player along, logging in only to do a couple of dailies to string out the minimal content and honestly I'm just not here for it. I really wanted to get into Multiversus, but the game just pushes me out.

Yea, when it comes to PvP there is content I'm actually holding off on because I want ranked to drop first, a lot of which are guides to help players transition from casual to competitive. 😭

I'll take the third option, where I think the game is getting stale, but also have hope that it will head in the right direction. I just hope they do it soon enough. As for fighters being hard to unlock... tbf, I can't relate, because I got them all in beta when it was much easier (very glad I did, now)... but I do have enough fighter currency now to buy like 5.5 normal-priced characters. Of course... I got all of that because I already had characters with which to enjoy playing the game. I can see how only having a couple owned, and the free rotation, could get boring. Although, I'm almost completely sure the reason fighters are as costly as they are is pressure from WB to earn money. Unfortunately, PFG will never have full control over that aspect.

Im definitely on the bored side of the equation. Even with multiple characters (which i brought from the beta), there seems to be no reason to play and we keep getting stuck with the same annoying situations over and over (shaggy spammers, joker user and abusers cause that character is absolutely ridiculousy broken, 0 to death iron giant or finn, etc). If they could somehow make a respectable story mode (like in smash bros brawl), that would seriously be amazing. Seeing all these characters interact would be so so nice (the problem would be with getting the voice actors). Anyway, the game is not very fun for me rn. And as for rifts, i couldn't think of a more boring experience than that. Is repetition after repetition and i think that if agent smith wasn't in the end of that road, the player count in PVE would drop tremendously

Yea, that's something I can connect with for real. All the 1v1s are filled with what you've explained. It's like well, I'm basically hurting myself by queueing and getting nothing for it win or lose In other games there are ALWAYS characters you don't want to go against, but when you win and are rewarded, the reward outweighs the pain of the match.

I personally don't feel it's luck. 🤔 I can win consistently, however, not being rewarded for the effort put into it every match is what I was referring to.

Yea the current game rn is ass compared to the beta I remember back in the beta what made it so fun was the speed and the fact that you can dodge more frequently it made your character maneuver even faster it raised the competitive level for me and those fights felt like they were ripped out of a dbz fight where they fly around and fight at high speeds it was super fun but now they removed the ability to dodge as frequently and now all you experience is people just abusing the spam moves to win a game and it always works in their favor it’s like the competitive flow went too shit and now it’s just not fun anymore

Love the game, but I hate the corporation. Also can someone talk about where FFA is? And Arcade mode?

It’s is boreing and then on top of that the disconnections rate is so bad also .You gotta buy to get a character it’s like a dead ass brain dead gane with unbalanced gameplay .You can’t play it competently.A pro Arya will lose to a new Iron Giant .With that said it said to that I hate this game which I played for hours .2v2 broken as well 😅

i stopped playing part cause of how it felt pointless and part cause of just how unfinished it felt and all the bugs didnt help, its sad, i was so hype for it but it just fell flat tbh, the excuse of "we had to build it up from the ground up on a new engine" just doesnt excuse the state this game is in because they should have just left it till it was fully functional with all the features in beta plus some, like at this point what even was that beta for because most of what was in it just got left behind. and yes i know they said they would add it back at a later date but still why? why wouldnt they just wait till everything was in it to release it? i really dont wanna hate on this game cause i know how hard playerfirst has it atm but still its just such a strange choice to release as a "full game" when really its only halfbaked. to give them to benefit of the doubt this could be warner's doing (as in forcing them to release earlier then they wanted) and if it is its just another reason to hate warner.

I've stopped playing as much because of the flashing/strobing light aspect. I'm prone to migraines so I can't play this game for long periods of time like I can with others (such as animal crossing, Mario, sun haven, dream light valley, etc) I'm a sucker for games with an interesting story and/or easy upgrading progression to get that satisfaction max character to make the game even easier

Yea, they had another patch rollout. I'm also on PS5. I think majority of the issues might have been Xbox.

I play alot and now im feeling bored game is going thr wrong direction too many bugs no reason to play rift is bullshit the state of release was better in thr beta we had balance in the beta the game feels more like a beta than the beta did the micro transactions are turning me off its just not good anymore WB got whT they wanted a ip to throw in the trash

I’m litterally only playing to get Batman who laughs. I probably wouldn’t be playing it otherwise. A lot of characters came back super broken or nerfed. They have spent more time tuning than continuing the road map which shows that the game wasn’t ready. We are almost a month in and Agent Smith is not in the game. They teased all these character and it might take a year to add 4 of them. It’s sad to see. This video is spot on

7:25 As someone who played beta and been playing a lot recently, I enjoy the gameplay and feel it better now than beta, HOWEVER, EVERYTHING ELSE, F#$KING SUCKS! I only even play now for the dailies then hop off.
