You mention locking pliers, you can turn any pliers into locking pliers with either the medium and larger sized vice grip style pliers with the curved jaws. Get your non- locking pliers onto whatever you want to grab a hold of,then, apply the vice grip pliers at a 90 degree angle to those pliers, so that they are applying force where you would normally grip the pliers. You can wrap a rag to protect any coating on the handle of the pliers you are clamping down.

I think for a optimal wave clone build take external larger scissors found in the bibury signal clone or the ones found in the Nextool Flagship Captain, and replace the serrated blade, (maybe use the file from the captain since it's squared off), if using the Nextool as a donor you could get the Leatherman style slim bit holder which you could pair with a awl on one side (both of which would need modifying to work with the lockup). Removing the scissors from the inside and the slim precision flathead would give you room to add a Leatherman precision screwdriver bit holder. If you still have a little room you could potentially grind down a spare bottle/can opener to become a pull cut package opener. I'm not sure how thick the bit holder is in comparison to the scissors.

This is exactly how I would do it and like you tried to do I would use the multiforce platform to eliminate the one major flaw that turnred me away from the wave which is the pinching pliers. For the lofe of me I'm not sure why the other knock offs didn't follow the multiforce in this move.

@maxlvledc there seems to be a lot of unused space inside the scales on the hammer side, and it looks like you could fit surge size (DL30) tools in there with a little mod to the sheet metal. or fit a bunch of survival stuff in the pockets they create. way more space than a wave etc... I think the longer file or saw would be really cool in this tool.

I agree with Neil White and you. Maybe at the very least Leatherman might permit their buyers to choose which tools go in which slots before Leatherman ships the multi-tool to their customers. This might be me or voices I'm hearing but I would like a Leatherman Signal type blade with a better steel and the bigger scissors. I find that I can sometimes use Leatherman bits all by themselves and turn them with my fingers if nuts and screws aren't too tough to turn.

So, here we see 3 tools bought to enjoy the concept of rolling your own ultimate tool, Manufacturers are you watching? Love it when you do these because I'm pretty sure if you get enough views BIBURY will just follow your lead. Now if we could get them to commit to the modding concept across their line (tool fit standardization) and offer a couple quality steel optional upgrades this could create a incredible drive to buy more of whoever products like GOATTOOL cater to the modding community. We could be one or two line years from a swapping standard I hope. Or more GOAT options...

Hi, it took me some time to figure out which tools you finally combined. I'm having a fever so my attention span is less than my normal 5 sec. So you took the file and scissor from Signal clone and moved them to Wave clone? And replaced the scissors in 'wave' with an awl from 'signal'? Or did you move whole stack? Can you get two working multitools or is the 'signal' left crippled? Thank you for the video! It has inspired me :)

The Chapman MFG starbits have alot more material going right up to the bit head itself so you can get alot of bite on the screw. They are also made in the USA and have ball detent retention so they should also work in this style of 1/4 driver.

I would probably go with a serrated blade or instead. Most EDC guys carry a quality plain edge pocket knife that is better than this blade. A chisel-ground serrated edge is a good compliment to a pocket knife. Can opener/bottle opener is a pretty useless addition imo. Its fairly easy to open bottles and cans in a pinch without one and you can quite easily remove cable housing with a knife blade. I'm not sure what I would install instead. Perhaps I'd take one of the large flatheads, grind it to a chisel and install that.
