Nice review! I have also found you can use it to gently scratch an itchy finger, use it as a template to draw a small hoof, lift an earing from the table all the way up to the shirt pocket, defend yourself against a wagtail attack, and even frequently open and closing the tool for adhd disorders.
Love the parcel hook. It’s versatile with a bit of imagination. Not useless.

Tie a Prusik knot with Paracord around your climbing line and use the hook to pull yourself up with the Prusik loop.
When I bought mine back in the late 60's, I was told that the hook was made as a gut hook for ducks and geese! Folks that can't find a use for it, ain't never done any work 🙄👍✝️🇱🇷
I've found the hook to be one of the more useful tools on my SAK. I use mine mostly for safety wire wrapping/tying. The one for pulling the tonneau cover to the snap is a great idea. I'm always fighting that thing.
I will be keeping my Victorinox Super Tinker next to my Air fryer. I have 2 and 1 is 1 of my many EDC. I can't believe it can tighten Bicycle spokes. I only have been using it for a T shank jigsaw blade. Mind blowing with what everyone figures out how to use a tool.
Man there's so many uses I haven't even thought of. You did well at thinking outside of the box. Great video man.

Missed wishing you a happy birthday the other day! Sorry! Bud!
It's funny when people claim Any tool on a SAK is useless.. as if they added it on accident. The hook & wire stripper get the most hate. And they are both very useful. Outsmart the tool, to your advantage. Don't let the tool outsmart you, leaving you puzzled to It's existence. Great video!

Failing to understand the use and possibilities of a tool is the fault of the user not the tool.
3 years late, but here because I saw the hook being used on a saxophone ligature in the thumbnail. Just a heads up, ligature screws only need to be finger tight.
Honestly if you really think about a hook is a tool that many people don’t have or know how to integrate into their daily lives. This video has been a real eye opener.
This is my favorite tool. All the other ones have a more direct approach. With the multipurpose hook you have to figure it out on your own and once you start using it, you become obsesed with finding new uses.

Actually, there are so many times when I want to open the box without damaging it, in case I need to return the item. Jamming my big sausage finger in there usually ends up tearing the lid. I usually use a butter knife, but the hook would be way better.

@@TheOCDHunter Completely agree with this. I have many tools, many of them are very similar. Yet there always comes a time that the slightly differently tool does the job, but other similar tools cannot. The point here is to think outside the box, be aware of what you have. Every curve and point on a tool can be a benefit to a situation and worse in others. So this hook is there, it's certainly different than other bits. And that's a good thing. Just gotta think. To me, half of the victorinox usage is fun, half of it is for emergency.

spring puller and Instant Pot wire rack lifter----- yes!! spoke wrench?
