I can not believe how many cool and acurate tools you have ! I amjealous. I have the bare minimum. Drill Press, Table Saw, Belt Sander, Metal Band Saw, Drum Sander, Scroll Saw, Router Table , Grinding Stone & Wire Wheel. I can make most things but not anywhere as much as you. I am in awe to say the least !

Can you please reference the drill press jig setup for holding wood securing at varying angles.
@TheWoodCrafter1

Hello Jeremy, You mean the drill vise that is holding the workpiece? if yes then you need to search "Drill vise", but if you mean the tilting drill press table then this is an option that is available on most drill press models, but you need to ask the seller for a drill press with tilting table function so you can drill at various angles. hope this helps and thank you for your comment.

Thank you, sir, found these blades in the antique store, they were made by Stanley, you can find some on eBay, or maybe use any hand plane blades. good luck.
Did you use any special blade or could any plane iron be made to work? Thanks for the idea!

Nice work and good result... you could increase the surface quality by rounding the blade a little. In this case, the last 30% if the blade would be almost parallel to the rotation axis and there would be much less tear out.

@TheWoodCrafter1

Similar to Veritas version, sounds like a good idea, but needs some experiments to achieve the right angle! I should round the end of the blades for cleaner cuts though! Call me lazy, yes I am sometimes 😄
This is epic!!
a lovely jig / tool for making custom dowels, curious to know what the skew angle is on the blade, as in your marking out it looked to be 5deg ??? I'd be interested in having a drawing so I could try making one too, as getting the right dowel in the right timber is a real pain in the "£$! here in the UK. Well done, Karl W
@TheWoodCrafter1

Thank you, Karl, this is not very critical, it depends on the thickness of the wood you are using and the entry hole diameter, here is a link for a PDF file for my jig, you can still modify this as said before, I hope it will be helpful, let me know the result if you can, this link will expire after 7 days from now! we.tl/t-lvessEKjFH
@TheWoodCrafter1

Rispetto.

What is the taper angle on the holes please?? .
@TheWoodCrafter1
Actually there is no precise rule here, that depends on some variables, how thick is the stock you are using, it is basically a cone shape hole, the thicker the stock you are using and the smaller the difference between the entry and exit hole diameter the less steeper the angle will be and vise versa, I let the CAD software to decide that, also note that it will give you better control and stability if you make the end hole 1/4 inch thick to reduce the rod wobble. If you want to make a 1 inch dowel then you can make the entry hole 1 1/8 or so, not sure if this will help you, but I hope so :) good luck

@@TheWoodCrafter1 Thanks for your response. It was helpful. From that, I would guess that the entry diameter would be the diagonal on the square, tapering down to the width/final diameter, at about 3/4 - 7/8 the thickness of the wood being used. So, if the hole was cut with a stepped drill, and then smoothed out, that might work. Alternatively, make a tapered drill, based on the diagonal/width proportions. [I dont have the luxury of CNC] 😊👍

Not sure where did I cut 60 degree angle? I did cut 70 degree using the table saw miter gauge and when you subtract 70 from 90 degree you get 20 degrees! Hope this is clear now.
