so at this moments, I am trying to save my budget for my atmos(not yet) studio for most film audio post, I was searching the calibration solution, your video is very helpful, I hope I could have a tour in your studio and pay you to share some interesting studio design ideas with me. But in a longer view, if I am your poor best friend, which one you will recommend for longer run? I own reference 4 studio, I think it is good for headphone, ok for stereo, I think the acoustic treatment should come first anyway. Thanks for your time of sharing and making this video.
Dirac almost winner!Thank you!

@@reallyniceaudio why to get a HW ? is not the same quality using Dirac Live?

wow that's insane!!!
Cubase 12 is 7.1.4
That's strange SID was doing 44.1 as Dolby Atmos is 48Khz so seems strange that SID would make there calculations at 44.1 :-(

Yeah that info is thin on the ground. I will have a call with them this week so I will clarify the matter. More concerning is neither (yet) support full 7.1.4 virtual device that shows up in the audio device manager on mac. They are both working on this now.

@@QFXmusicI think what gets missed with all the atmos hype is that it is just a delivery system. As a composer with a 7.1.4 set up I am writing for that format. And the term 'immersive' is actually understandable when the height layer is set correctly, imagine speakers mounted as in a dome. Atmos itself is just a tool to enable up scaling to more speakers or down mixing to lesser channel counts. As of oct 22 apple music only streams atmos at 5.1 meaning the only market for multichannel music would be the home theatre guys. This is quite good as most of the domestic atmos receivers have some sort of room correction built in which is very different to the stereo market.
Dirac is way more expensive
None of them sounded better than the original. Both distorted the original, each in their own way. That's all. My opinion is to bear with some of the troubles of the original, but listen to it rather than spend money and be dissatisfied with their 'correction'.
