Mulleted aliens hurl CDs at Dolph Lundgren in this nonsense | So Bad It's Good #81 - Dark Angel

A lot of you requested this one and now I know why. Craig R. Baxley, of Stone Cold and Action Jackson fame, directs this movie. This has more explosions than anything else I've ever seen. Also known as I Come in Peace, Dark Angel is the epitome of late 80s/early 90s cheese.

Not only is Dolph Lundgren tall, good looking, a 4th Dan Black Belt (had to look that one up), and a good actor. But he's _also_ smart as hell with a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and had a scholarship to M.I.T. before being convinced to move to New York and getting into acting. I've also heard he's a super nice guy to boot.

I remember watching this movie back in the day. Silly, but fun. I’ve always liked Dolph, and he seems like a genuinely cool guy in real life (unlike The Penguin aka Steven Waddle Seagal). Dark Angel was also a tv show, with a young Jessica Alba and produced by James Cameron!

This is what Seagal was ripping off when he mad Attack Force I bet. There’s space vampires, tits and the main guy is a cop that walks with an air of confidence rarely seen in this day and age. Also I don’t really know why but the alien gives me Raiden from Mortal Kombat vibes but a little bit of Bill Murray too.

Adding magnesium to the powder in a blank slows down the reaction and creates a larger muzzle flash. Flash enhancers attached to the muzzles can also help. Basically the opposite of flash hiders. I miss the Calico 950. A 9mm machine pistol that Hollywood loved as an alien weapon.

Don't get me wrong, Arnold is great, but I think some of the more serious movies he did, would actually be better if they had cast Dolph instead, but probably also wouldn't have gotten the big numbers. The more silly stuff, Arnold seems to shine in. I think it's partly because, prime Dolph looks peak human, while prime Arnold looks almost inhuman and a bit freakish. @@JasonBrant 😁. Btw, i'm with you on the sponsorship - i think it is awful, and channels suck when they use it. People are saying they don't mind, but i agree with you, including promotions sucks: I think it's a dilemma. But, if YOU do it, it's fine - you put a ton of work into each video, and assemble people to take part in them; also, you have bothered to come up with an original concept to offer up. Plus, if you do it as skits like you said, I'll watch them beginning-to-end as I feel I owe you guys for the entertainment; plus, they'll be funny anyway, so it won't be a chore.

Sponsorships are on the way. Gotta do something to offset being demonetized by KZread. Some will be funny skits, others won't. Depends on what the sponsor allows, unfortunately.

This was some high-budget shit. I remember the ads for this movie (as I come in peace) as a little kid on TV showing the alien screaming "I COME IN PEACE!!" and the hero retorting 'THEN YOU LEAVE IN PIECES!" (kaboom!!) I never got to see it, but glad to see you cover it. It looks like everything I expected.

The guy that plays the blond alien, his name is Matthias Hues. His name might not be recognizable, but he was in a lot of action movies during the 80s and 90s, typically playing a villain. He was in No Retreat, No Surrender 2 which co-starred Cynthia Rothrock. Despite the title it has no connection to No Retreat, No Surrender starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Some other movies of his include Diplomatic Immunity (1991), Black Belt starring Don Wilson, Mission of Justice (1992), Talons of the Eagle, TC 2000, Digital Man, Droid Gunner, The Silent Force (2001), and a whole bunch of other movies that would be a good fit for your show.
