I can’t help but cry watching this. Not so much because of this particular scene but because The X files was such a big part of my life in the early 2000 and now it’s over. Nothing last.

@@ashtonbrown9880 I agree that feels incomplete cause of all the cliffhanders. I mean, did Skinner died? Did Monica? In X-Files world being shot in the head doesn't necessarily means you got killed. Did the Smoke man died? He survived worse in the past.

This is so touching and beautiful.

I don't care what the hell you all say.... I love the last season. It is sweeter than all of the seasons. Season 1-9 was helping them grow. Season 10 personally was f****ed up. And this season is perfection. How many kids is this for her? (Emily/ Season 5:. William/Season 8: And this baby is omfg! She's 54. A bleeping miracle. 😂 Thank you for letting me vent! Plz make Season 12. All eyes are on u, Gillian.

I think a kiss for this scene in specific was not necessary cause they were both in shock about what had just happened. The realization that William was never their son and also the running and shooting a few minutes before.

That's exactly how this should have ended

Looking at this ending now, with a fresh pair of eyes, I realized they did such a disservice to Scully. Having her use some pathetic excuse that William was an "lab experiment", so therefore she was never a mother to him? They just annulled all that character development in a few lines.

To be fair. It was alluded that something was up with Williams conception. That it was a mystery and Scully herself wasn’t sure, but eventually accepted the only plausible explanation that it was Mulders kid.

@@meg2861 See I don't think it's fair at all, particularly for that to be addressed in such context as the last scene if the series. It cheapened their whole journey around William. It's one thing to it to have been a topic of exploration in an episode, but what Chris Carter did was a copout

@@meg2861 Either one of them could have arranged for his paternal link to Mulder to be established through genetic testing- they do this for other characters throughout the series. We're being asked to believe that *these two* decided not to investigate that.

In the script for the truth it was revealed that William wasn't mulders child...but it was cut. I think Scully knew that Jackson wasn't dead as she us still connected to him but he did ask her directly to let him go. I think he gave his mum the gift of a new child to help this. As a fan for 30 years, I think this was the right ending and I hope they leave it alone and let the characters find some happiness.

It's more than impossible, it's a miracle

Moral of the story: don't work for the FBI X Files division. You won't progress in your career, you'll risk your life dealing with monsters every week with not so much as a thankyou, and say goodbye to any semblance of a personal life, friends or family.

In My Struggle IV, Mulder said, "That's impossible." He didn't know? Oh, come on! He knew he did have sex with her two times without a condom. Chris Carter was a bad and terrible writer!

Well to be fair he said she is a "woman of science" meaning she could figure out how to have a baby if she really wanted to ie. probably through a surrogate/egg donor/sperm donor... I don't think either of them thought she could get pregnant again naturally.

They did 2 episodes on this show about alternate realities, one in this season. Season 11 as a whole, takes place in an alternate reality in my opinion, because nothing is consistent to prior seasons. Reyes for instance had an awful conclusion to her character. She would NEVER betray Doggett and join forces with Cigarette Man. Completely out of character for her. Doggett isnt mentioned once in seasons 10 and 11, and while I originally thought this was a disservice to the character, its actually a good thing. It means that Doggett doesn't exist in seasons 10 and 11, and explains why Reyes would join Cigarette Man. I know that is not official, but I like to think it is, and Im sure Im not the only one. The season 9 episode 4D, had another Doggett and Reyes from an alternate reality, so to me at least, this Reyes is just another variant, from the alternate realities that are seasons 10 and 11. Its actually kind of official anyway that season 10 at least, is an alternate reality, because the final episode of that season, is ultimately seen as a "vision", and retconned at the start of season 11. So if season 10 is an alternate reality, then so is season 11 in my view.

Well considering Scully wanting to have a baby started back in season 6 (I think) this was a long time coming. Also I reject this ending CC gave them a baby and then found some way to royally f*ck it up.

Chris Carter had some really messed up misogynistic ideas that stemmed from his obsession with the ‘saint or wh*re’ complex of what women were allowed to be and he had an unhealthy obsession with Scully’s uterus and the idea that all women MUST be desperate to have kids at any cost and in any circumstance. Typical guy writing women. He did everyone a disservice by the end of the show and it’s why most fans (& the actors) left the show/fandom because they got tired of his increasingly ridiculous plot lines. If the show had been written by a better writer, Mulder & Scully’s chemistry wouldn’t have been messed with after they got together & the baby thing wouldn’t have even been a thing. He just thought no one would watch the show if they lost the ‘Will they? Won’t they?” aspect of their relationship but what he massively miscalculated was that the entire audience just wanted to see them together because Gillian & David were THAT good.

То, что создали этот фильм. Похожий на тот сериал, который совершенно немножко другой, выше романтики и любви, и у них там. Они созданы друг для друга, я весь сезон просмотрела, даже 10 просмотрела сезон, я в шоке то, что я видела всё по телевизору было показано. А тут показано всё. У неё была любовь друг с другом даже здесь. Это даже не сильно так выражено было, но выражено было. И постельные сцены были тоже 1 романтика, 1 любовь друг перед другом и не так друг с другом. И окончили это всё вотка, вот это романтика, вот это жизнь.

Gillian went through lots of different looks throughout the seasons. Heck, she looked different in season 4 than she did in season one! In season nine she looked entirely different from season 4. It’s just her growing up! I’m the same age as Gillian and believe me, I look nothing like I looked in my 20’s…

But William did have her DNA. Although she didn’t raise him, she loved him and IS his mother 🙄

REBOOT! Since there might be a X File reboot in 2024 or 2024 . They need to bring back the character William to correct this bad ending and he will be the ONLY connection to the original X Files . We don’t need the characters Mulder and Scully for the reboot.

Mulder - 57 and Scully - 54. In real, David was 58 and she was 47 while they were filming on set, and he is 61 and she is 52 now.
