🔺 Our Mission 🔺
Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and education.
Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal.
Informing, Educating and Inspiring
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.
Martin Tyner
Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends.
At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.
“Grandpa believed in a very simple philosophy; that a person should get up every morning and do good. Doing good means that you do well for others and doing well means that you do good for yourself. There is nothing wrong with doing well, but Grandpa always believed in doing good.”
Martin's book, Healer of Angels, reflects back on his life: from a young boy terrified of birds to becoming the first man in North America licensed to train a wild golden eagle in the ancient art of falconry.
Through a heartwarming collection of true stories he describes his challenging transformation from a shy dyslexic teenager, to the founder and CEO of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.

@@GowildlifeOrg we have a wild Peregrine Falcon here by our apartments. I think it’s a male as our complex has an old Barn from when this property was a Dairy Farm build in the 50’s. They build these apartments in the early 90’s. He keeps flying and dive bombing at the roof line where a fake Owl sits. It must have been placed there over 12 years ago as it’s been there since we moved in. He yells at it and than sits at a very tall tree about 200 yards opposite and north east of it. I figured out where his tree is which is about 2 blocks away but I can see it from my 3rd floor units bedroom window. He’s definitely new to this area as there was non last year or prior years. I haven’t heard him for over a week now so I’m a bit concerned that someone may have hurt it or killed as he was indeed very loudly protesting against the Owl intruder 😂! I now keep looking and hoping to catch a glimpse that he might still be around. I have a love for them since I was a child when still living in my birth Country the Netherlands. I live in (Arlington) Washington State now 35 years and fell in love with this State upon landing of my plane ✈️ in the day. What a beautiful Country this America is. We always loved watching “ Wild America” and the American Condor birds how majestic oh my gosh ! Thank you for sharing and hope to see more. Erszi Stubbe a Dutch import!
It's amazing to see the huge change in Kate! You gave her a completely new life, from that horrible isolation to a life worth living! You're a true blessing for Kate and SO many other critters! Thank you and bless you, your family and all the birds, from Sweden.

Do people use ferrets with hawks in your country and how do you get the birds used to them.
How often do you feed her? Why does she throw out a lot of her food?
@GowildlifeOrg
Жыл бұрын
Depends on her where's she at in her training. She is all personality and shows it.
I think Cody is very well behaved, going away laying down when you tell him "done" and "go and lay down" - even if it doesn't reach for that long! One can't ask for everything 😉 I mean dogs are pack animals, it's really against his deep drive distance himself from you. Don't you think he can almost take it as a punish especially since Kate is getting your attention and dogs are SO jealous? I feel a bit pity for him, sweet Cody. But I do believe you say he's a pest with a lot of irony and that he has a lovely life with you, since you care for all animals. Thank you for everything you do and all I've learned about birds of prey from you! Has Kate stopped shouting now?
Question does Kate like dogs will Kate hurt Cody?
@GowildlifeOrg

Kate is unusually tolerant of him. She would just chase or scare him off if he got to be too much. He knows when to keep his distance.
