Mud Mud Glorious Mud and Puddles. A Return Visit to The Pingo Trail. Thank Goodness for Welly Boots.
Our walk was a return visit to the Pingo Trail. We did this walk just before Christmas and ended up taking a wrong path that added about an hour onto our walk which then resulted in us completing the walk in the pitch black! It was an adventure for sure! We decided to return to do the walk in reverse so we could see the section of walk in daylight - we were actually amazed at how we managed to navigate our way through the paths without disappearing into the Pingos! The paths were extremely waterlogged from the months of rainfall we've already had over winter, which added to the Pingos being very full. The mud was my favourite part of the walk and thankfully, we had our welly boots on! If you love muddy wet walks, then this is the walk for you! Obviously in the spring, summer months it'll not be as muddy. The reserve has an abundance of wildlife to enjoy especially birds, the trees on both of our visits, have been a hive of activity. We will return in the warmer, dryer weather to enjoy the insect life around the Pingos.

It's surprising how a video can look so different when doing a walk in reverse !, watched the whole of your first video , you both look more relaxed on this one . Good luck with your videos , I can only dream of over 5 thousand views , may best to date is 625 , still early days . cheers Jeff

Yes, we were prepared for the mud this time, and we kind of knew the route the second time round 😅 I know, I can't believe it hit over 5k... I think it's the mud that did it! 625 is great!! Keep putting yours out there, I enjoy them! Take care, Jenny 😊
That's a very interesting trail first I've heard of pingos and their unique wildlife and plant species that live there , I bet that trail is colourful in the autumn

We've only caught the end of autumn, but agree, it would look amazing. We also want to go back now that the weather is warming up with longer days to catch the dragonflies and butterflies.
Hello Jenny. Just watched it all. Look a pretty tough walk. Well done. It’s not easy walking in mud and you had lots of it.😁 I thought the water would go over your wellies a few times. The weather improved and the sky looked beautiful. Nice little place to stop for your lunch. Nice vid.👋👍

Hi Jamie, thanks for watching! Yes, it was tough in places as that mud was so slippery at times, I don't know how we didn't end up face down in one of the ponds!! 😂 So glad I had my wellies on! It's crazy to think we walked parts of that in the dark! We did have a mixture of weather but finished the walk sunshine. Next time we do this walk will be in the summer.
