Damn that’s fast as expected can’t for them to release Mfi devices and I hope it’s cheaper and can’t for them to be released in more locations like Ogun state and Ikorodu Lagos and to iPhones too. Nice work MTN💯

I get 83mbs on mtn 4G. I think you just don't have a good router or antennas. You need expensive devices to get good speeds

I currently have MTN FibreNet Unlimited in my estate. I'm subscribed to the 50mbps plan because i'm an active gamer. I preordered this device and i received the email yesterday to make payment of N50,000. I was a little worried about preordering a device when i couldnt see real life speed tests. Your video helped a lot. Will i still preorder? Maybe, Maybe not. The lack of inbuilt battery is quite worrisome. The cable you mentioned, it would be good to know where it can be bought.

@@lekanosho9050 Hi Lekan. Unfortunately I'm a FPS guy. Ping is still an issue for us in Nigeria. Playing the MW2 beta and I'm always slower than everybody because of the connection.

We want fast unlimited internet monthly subscription and Starlink internet is the answer. Seriously waiting for starlink to start services in Nigeria which is expected by year end

what is the upload speed
I pre-ordered the 5g thing as a replacement for my HynetFlex and backup for my fiber connection but the lark of Unlimited "no FUP" is disappointing. One game update will wipe out almost half of the data. I don't really see the advantage over the current HynetFlex until we have truly unlimited even if that cost a little bit more.

Omo my 5G router has been working fine since o but for the past 3days now it stopped working like before now it’s even worse than 3G self now. It only works perfectly at night now and once time is going to 8am it’ll start misbehaving again Please I need solution 😢

Tried with CODM, ping was still between 60 to 70ms. Not tried with other games

No matter the speed, not having an inbuilt battery makes it less valuable here in Nigeria. The cost implication to power it will far outweigh the benefits. I'm sorry, better versions are needed😢

Oh 🤦🏾♂️. Sorry about that. for now, the max upload speeds I've gotten were between 70 to 120Mbps only reached 120Mbps once though
Now we will sub 100gb daily 😉. If there is no unlimited plan 4g is good.
Mtn suppose roll out VOLTE first before talking about 5g..

The router is a mess without battery. I regret buying it. I was cut of meetings several time...not even an hour of backup... in Nigeria? It's poor...

No one ever talks about router latency. As a gamer this is crucial to online gaming. Great video but would've loved it this was covered. For the people that will probably say it has download speed of 1gb/s. Download speed doesn't affect latency as much.

Sorry we're not all gamers 🥲. If it's any help, I tried 5G with mobile data on CODM and ping was still between 60 to 68ms. Next time I'm going to a coverage area I'll carry the router and try it

As a pc gamer myself, I can tell you your ping won't be great as long as you are playing from Nigeria. Even though the MTN data ping matters, what matters more is the location of the game server. I get an average of 30-40ms ping on my MTN and Airtel 4g. Normally that should be a good ping for gaming but whenever I play apex legends, call of duty warzone and halo infinite, my in game ping monitor (when enabled in the game settings) shows a ping of 130-170ms. I confirmed this when I saw online that South African gamers also have an average ping of 150ms when playing online games. This can only be fixed when game developers create an African server for online games but I doubt it will happen anytime soon since Africa still remains unimportant to the world. When MTN ping goes up to around 100-200ms especially during heavy rainfall, playing online games become impossible as the in game ping can go up to 300-1000ms. This makes online gameplay lag seriously. You can't even understand what's happening as both your location and your opponent's will keep changing in game.

@@arico7923 I agree with you very much. But what you need to understand is 5G is built very much to overcome these server issues. So if you were getting in game ping of 100ms at least now you should be getting 60-70ms.

@@Ben_psd well there isn't 5g at my location for me to test it out. I saw another mtn 5g router KZread video where ping was mentioned. The KZreadr said his MTN 5g router has an average ping of 30ms but can go as low as 19ms. Currently, I get around 70-90ms ping when playing cod mobile on my phone while using MTN 4g which is similar to what this KZreadr said he gets with his mtn 5g router on cod mobile. That suggests 4g and 5g have similar ping. 5g is just faster in speed not in ping Edit: 5g may have a faster ping than 4g but it's likely a small difference. Just checked online and saw 4g has an average ping of 30-50ms while 5g has an average ping of 29ms. So you are right but the difference is negligible. I doubt it will change much in the in game ping. An in game ping of below 200ms is very playable but you will notice a slight input delay in fast paced shooter games like apex legends.

You guys do a poor man's research on the list of supported devices. I use a OnePlus 8 and connect to MTN's 5G network. Point is there are a lot of supported devices out there. Do the research.

Since you're not aware that to confirm a supported device is to actually own one. Maybe if OnePlus was retailing here officially we would've been able to test that too. I've listed confirmed supported devices... Keyword Confirmed. If you tested with OnePlus and it works then yay that's awesome. If you want content creators to test every device on the planet feel free to buy all the devices and we will gladly test them.

This is 4G+ not 5G, real 5G will download call of duty mobile (2.5gb) in less than 5 seconds

@@phantom8172 yes na, i don even download codm to once with 4G in less than 2mins (about 20mbps) with airtel, so 5G cant be less than 2 mins too, except na just nigeria 5g (“scam/fake 5G”)

Do you mean 20Mbps as gotten from speed tests or actual 20MBps which translates to 160Mbps.
It is very fast indeed. But MTN have a current problem of inconsistent network speed and coverage issues. They should perfect their 4G capacities nationwide before focusing on 5G. Plus common sense should tell MTN that there ought to be 5G plans dedicated to the Router and good unlimited 5G mobile plans doable on modern day Nigerian economy.
