My son is in this choir and is loving every minute of his mission. They show him for a couple of seconds, but that's enough for me.

Yep! Two years of wonderful learning, preaching of Christ and service to others and the Lord! I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.Christ lives and loves us, that is what missionaries testify to the world. Best two years ever!!

Thirty nine years ago, I had the honor of singing under Brother Douglas Brenchley (who directed the MTC choir for years) in high school. I was a little 15yr old Jewish girl who'd just "found" Jesus. Ok, now what? With a very dysfunctional (to put it mildly) “family,” I began scouting around for Christian fellowship. Having been blessed with a love for music and a fairly decent singing voice, I auditioned for and was accepted into my high school Chorale, directed by yep, “Mr.B.” The Chorale occasionally performed for different churches in the community where we lived. By this time, I’d visited many of our local churches in varying denominations, “sampling” them to see if I might want to join one of them. So far, no luck. Nothing was really “wrong” with them, there was just something missing. I had begun studying with one particular denomination. When I told them that our itinerary showed that we were scheduled to sing at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, they urged me not to go, warning me that this church was “bad news,” and that if I went there I’d be in “Satan’s power.” I knew this was “Mr. B’s” church. I told him of my apprehension and that it was “against my religion” to go to his church. He kindly explained to me that he understood, and he, of course, could not FORCE me to attend, “however,” it would affect my grade (or words to that effect. To this day, we recall the exact words of the conversation differently). So, guess who decided to attend her first Sacrament Meeting at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints? Upon entering the building, I wasn’t overcome with a huge overpowering spiritual gush, as one would expect when they “FIND the Lord,” but more of a feeling of “welcome home.” It was peaceful, almost, familiar. I was “home.” During Sacrament Meeting, as the Sacrament was being passed, I felt “something. The only time I’d had such a feeling was when the Lord answered my prayer concerning whether Jesus was indeed the promised Messiah that “we” Jews were still waiting for. While partaking of refreshments following our performance in Sacrament Meeting, I approached “Mr. B” and asked him how I could learn more about his church. He then introduced me to several handsome young men with white shirts, ties and name tags, that all had the word “Elder” on them. The following day, “Mr. B” was in his office in the choir room. I went in and told him of this “feeling” I had while the Sacrament was being passed, and asked him what it was. As he explained that it was God’s Spirit bearing witness to me that this church was true, I felt it AGAIN, as he spoke. I was baptized March 3, 1971. My husband, Henry, who I was dating at the time, was baptized two months after we were married. Three years later, my sweetheart took me to the Washington D.C.Temple where we were sealed for time and all eternity, This struggling little Jewish girl, was taken under the wing of a worthy music teacher who placed before her a trail of bread crumbs, leading her “home.” Thank you, with all my heart, Brother Doug Brenchley.

This was my mission president's favorite hymn (Sehet, Ihr Voelker in German)
