    It seems like the interviewer had his mind made up before he spoke with Jill....if someone with her technical skill suggests specific body placement, shut up and listen, which he didn’t. The reason you work perfect technique over and over is so that you won’t be in a bad body position. A bad body position (at the very least) reduces speed/fun, or more seriously can get you hurt.

    I think that is one of the hardest concepts for people to grasp but it makes a huge difference. I've had people who were really good at corners argue with me about this, till you video them and watch it in slomo and they are doing it they just didn't realize.
