This is really cool to watch. The "electric buzz" sound is just like with our "S Bahn" trains over here in Germany. But overall, it's a lot different. Very fascinating. Thanks for sharing!

Person from California here: The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) that we have here in the Bay Area is okay, but I also really like the one from New York. It has a third track that trains can run in in the middle of the stations! We don’t have that here so I am really astonished.

It’s very rare you catch actual footage of two trains taking off at the same time. I love it!! Lol I wonder if the 2 train conductors said to each other let’s race. The first one that gets to the next station first wins OMG I’ll get a kick out of that.

In the first clip, Trainluvr has a clip of the same exact location with the same exact meet (Flushing bound local and Manhattan bound express) from 2001. Both were R33/R36 redbirds. The express was just as fast, with the same third rail sparking. Only difference was the interior lights went out in the third rail gaps.

Ever since CBTC came to the 7 train I can tell that it moves a lot faster. CBTC on Queens Boulevard (E, F, M, R) is almost done. It might be done already. I saw it in action last night on Queens Boulevard on my way home from a Mets game.

@@St4rBoy_ No. The 7th avenue line getting CBTC is still a ways away. They’re currently working on the Culver Line (F) in Brooklyn and the 8th avenue line (A, C, E) in Manhattan. Parts of Queens Blvd (E, F, M, R) have activated CBTC. The entire corridor might be finished by now as of January 2023.

The blinking green light means the CBTC signaling is active.

If you start at 0:00 and put the video speed to 2x, it will look like the R188 (7) Express Train is going 100 to 200 MPH 😎 🚀 which is VERY FAST! But if you put the video speed at 0.5x speed, the train will go normal speed just like the R188 (7) Local Train.

The Pelham line now has their R62as back on the Pelham line like a chicken. The Flushing line does not have to ever worry about the R62as on the Flushing line anymore because of CBTCS. However the Lexington Avenue will be getting Cbtcs real soon and now the F/G lines is getting Cbtcs between church Avenue and Coney island still well Avenue Brooklyn this year in 2022.

The R188s are custom made for the specific CBTC installation on the 7 train, and the 4 and 6 cannot handle 11-car trains. Plus the R142As is getting a CBTC upgrade of their own.
